The Metropolitan NY Bus Association (the funny bus club) ran a fantrip around the boroughs with two buses. We stopped at Manhattanville, College Point, and LaGuardia.
I was only 6 when the event happened. It was nice getting to see some Triboro coach action. I can still remember those RTS CNGs (used to catch them a lot on the Q23) and the Orion V CNGs (almost always one on the Q53). I will never forget the sound of the GMC’s roaring by.
I remember that day I was about 3 when this event happened but I remember seeing the Orion V CNG & Fishbowl parked @ Manhattanville. Thank you for this!!!
I started in 1985 with then Queens Transit Corp. Driving a 1966 Fishbowl and ending it with Queens Surface Corp. with Driving the CNG, I had a great time in that Garage, Diving The Grumman Buses then The RTS Buses. Great Video and Thanks for the Memories
I trained out of the old 132 st Depot it was MABSTOA's main depot. Eventually transferred to Hudson Pier then 54 st before leaving for NYCTA in Brooklyn.
Low floors destroyed the cool and comfortable experience. There were lifts too for the acessible. But everyone always want to save a couple of minutes. Edit: I really miss the RTS buses, they were my favorite.
18:47 So that's what the interior of a Triboro MCI Classic looks like. For years I've been looking for photos of the interior of that particular bus. From the looks of it, it was no different from the Green Line buses.

This was pre-9/11. Things were a lot more relaxed before that event
This is beautiful. I wish you had clips of Jamaica buses Grumman 870s because some of them were still being used around this time of recording.
So many people in this video that I know and am friends with! I started going on these trips back in 2005/06.

Thank you so much for this! I've always wanted to see footage of the Triboro Coach depot (now LGA depot)!
A rare catch of the Orion VI hybrids

19:44 that’s Vaughn College of aeronautics and technology. Currently attending.
@ 19:56 That MUST be the VERY RARE Methanol powered 6V92TA powered RTS that Triboro Coach had!
There was a group of ten or less and they ran for a number of years.
They only had 6 from what I heard@@trainluvr
yes it is
I was born before Triboro's takeover, I recall seeing one bus before the transition to MTABC. It's beautiful. This is like a time capsule
