- Bruges is just over an hour from the Eurotunnel in Calais, France so it's a perfect first stop on our trip around mainland Europe, especially as people had told us how pretty the city is.
We found an Air south of the city on Park 4 Night (following a recommendation) and stayed the night. Location was perfect and it has electric hookup if needed, although no toilets you can empty your own waste here.
Bruges is stunning, every corner of this place is a feast for the eyes (and the stomach). You really have to experience it for yourself.
Next we head to Germany.

Where the bells are playing is the Belfry, not a cathedrel or church but was a municipal building.
The building with the cardboard pic in front of it looks even better irl, too bad you saw it when they were renovating.
I live in Oostende, a 30 minute drive from Brugges, and although I lived close to Brugges all my life and even lived in the old city center of Brugges for 3 years it still has something magical.
It’s such a beautiful city, we loved everything about it, including the people 😍

So we are on our first VW camper trip abroad in Bruges. Lovely day and discussing where to eat....remembered your House of Waffle video and probably now sat in same seat !!! Great recommendation... You should both become tour guides.

Although the Brussels version looked bigger, the liege one was much tastier so in this case, quality over quantity 😁

Don’t bother with Bruges Xmas market. It’s rubbish. The biggest and some say the best is Nuremberg. Fantastic, but can get manic at weekends. A smaller traditional one with a great feel is rudesheimer am Rhein. Both places have good free parking for homies. YNWA
