He really does have a unique and pretty voice while also having cool grit and distortion. I think you could describe his voice as husky. And his high notes don't make me want to rip my ears off so he's doing it right.

He's got character that's for sure but the instrumentals they laid down was thrashing used more bass than the other bands that made them sound apart the lyrics were punk rock with a Gothic theme I think his voice displayed aggression arrogance agony animation somewhat animalistic he changed gears on it.
JD is just a really talented guy!

I love Korn and never was a huge fan of Slipknot back in the ealry 2000s but they have grown on me and Corey has one of the best voices in metal hands down. Wait and Bleed will always be legendary
Twist. There isn't another vocal performance like it in recorded history. Nobody else but Jonathan Houseman Davis could deliver such inhuman sounds and not even have lyrics. Without being constrained to the sounds of the English alphabet (or any alphabet) he frees himself to just be rhythmic and primal. The result has given me goosebumps every time I've heard it since the first time 20 years ago.
I do believe twist does have actual lyrics. I was surprised by this myself about 3 weeks ago whenever I was listening to twist on Amazon music with lyrics and it showed the lyrics to twist as it was playing. It’s an amazing. check it out
He has an inimitable rough voice and his gutturals are powerful and very clean, he also has a sweet and cute voice. Love❤u Jonathan.

Jonathan if he wanted to could sing in other genres. When he speaks he has a very soft angelic childlike voice. He could sing in a choir.

The time I seen them in concert back in 2001 at ozzfest if you closed your eyes you would know the difference in album and live Davis is sick and one of a kind and a bad ass bagpipe player lets go 🤘🏻

Always been my favorite singer. While yes he’s crazy talented sonically. To me, it’s the emotions he pours out. His voice and ability to transfer his emotions thru his lyrics is unchallenged to me by any other vocalist

I feel like he doesn't have a 'singing' voice per say. He just sings with his regular talking voice which makes it special
I saw them live in 1998 in Memphis, TN and it was an awesome show. The owners of the stadium said that they never wanted Korn to come back because the crowd was going crazy destroying chairs. I also caught a water bottle that was thrown by Jonathan and I was telling myself I'm keeping this forever. But half way into the show I was so dehydrated I had to drink it

His live shows are perfect and energetic..I've seen him 4 times and he has always brought out the bagpipes for at least one song..and always does an encore...every...single time.....wait for everyone to leave they will come back out...but once they do the on song they are done...the do a series in the beginning...second set....encore...done...so many people miss the encore it's crazy
The intro to “Daddy” always tripped me out and I feel like it doesn’t get enough attention… How soft and beautiful his voice is in the beginning of that song, it’s almost Robert Plant or MJK esk… of course with Jonathan’s own unique timbre.

Crowd always goes off on nursery rhymes. I worked the fair in Miami and on kids day I had that song on repeat with a kick ass p.a. set up I just loved screaming at those kids. I was told I couldn't play that song and I told them to f' off it's nursery rhymes

They did not sound anything like the records but it was a fun show.

One of the biggest reasons I never enjoyed live rock concerts, is because when you’re in the studio, they can edit it and mix and pull whatever kind of technological magic they have to make the person voice sound amazing, but then lot of times when the lead singer has a screaming line or something fast paced or maybe Some difficult words, it sounded nothing whatsoever like the album, but with Korn… I remember seeing them in 1997, and then again a few years ago, if you would’ve played me an album version of their song and then the song from their live performance either 20 years apart, I probably would have a difficult time picking it out which one is which
Ive seen him live about 8 times now. Always sounds great. Lately he's had an oxygen tank on stage but can't fault him for that!
