    Have you made a quilt with lots of negative space? How did you find the process?

      I made your improve quilt along, solid grey with pops of brights. I did not like the negative grey nor the improv method. But I finished it and donated it. Happy New Year from C C C Cold and snowy Ontario.

      @@ScrapFabricLove I have NOT made a quilt with lots of negative space and wouldn’t have thought I’d like it … BUT I love what you did with Dan’s quilt!! Love the colors … I think it was the grey linen 🥰 absolutely beautiful ! You’re a scrappy genius 🥳

    Wow! I love all the negative space, and especially the quilting pattern you and Dan came up with. The colors are perfect for his space. Great job!

    I absolutely love everything about this, the creative process, beauty from chaos, amazing result. Love the 'line with pebble' pattern, so simple and cool. Fantastic result, thank you for sharing.

    I really enjoyed watching your videos on making this quilt. I have not made a quilt with a lot of negative space but I want to try this. It turned out very pretty. I have been quilting for only 5 years since retiring. Will go back and watch more of your videos in the past.

    Kristen, that was very successful! Your graphic picked up the colours in his living room perfectly. The quilting pattern is very effective, too.

    I love your use of linen, as I want to make a healing quilt. And this would be a great idea to combine my minimalist quilt with the healing quilt. I purchased linen clothing from a thrift store and plan to use a linen sheet for the backing. Cannot wait to get started. Thank you for your tutorial. It’s a lovely quilt. ❤

      Thanks! If I sit around thinking about it too much it just gets less clear for me - so starting usually helps my thought process….but different folk have different processes that work for them. You just have to find the one that works for you.

    As I watched this video, I was so intrigued by your process of designing and constructing the quilt. I am so not a free spirit, as you, but I do appreciate the outcome. As you might surmise, I haven't made a quilt with lots of negative space. Looks too intimidating to me. 😊Great job with Dan's quilt!

    Amazing thought process! Imagine asking for details from the person it goes to.... like they'd have any idea at all. Their magic word is "quilt"... thing on the bed...warm...the rest is huge blank.

      I like to ask at least if they want more modern or traditional and if they get interested at that point I keep asking more questions. Dan had some definite ideas!

    It turned out awesome! I have always wanted to make a negative space quilt with whites/ecru and small improv random colors sprinkled throughout.

      There are so many different types of quilts out there - not all of them have points to match. I find it fun to experiment with different types of quilts - maybe you would too!

      @@AntisocialAuntie … but it gets easier and you get better with each one ! And you can be amazed how points will match !!! Don’t be intimidated!!! I am relatively new to the quilting craft and am amazed at the progression 🙌. I find by using beautiful fabrics… it’s all good!

      @@AntisocialAuntie I understand about the stubborn brain … I am retired and a couple years into quilting … I love ❤️ how FPP turns out … yet my brain struggles with the process … practice practice practice … whilst I tend to shy away, I am going to make “a point” to do more FPP 😬. So many fabulous processes and the fabrics to choose from!?! Wow 🤩 Most appreciative to all who share their talents and wisdom 🩷 What a craft 🙌 And remember AntisocialAuntie… like Christmas ornaments … there is no such thing as an ugly quilt 😊 quilt to your hearts content xo

    I love that idea for a quilting design. Hope you don’t mind if I try it on one of my quilts. I do my own quilting on a domestic machine and I think this is doable
