Amazing speech, truly something I needed to hear today. I can say it's a speech that could possibly change my life forever. Points that I love about her speech:
-emphasis that talented people are what society loses and not just ordinary people alone
-focus on your efforts and duties not the outcome
-You are not the outcome.
-even people who don't get promoted are not failures
-emphasizing that a lot of things are not in our control and we are not in the center of things
-clarified what failure actually means
It's amazing how her short speech, can change the perspective of someone. It's more convincing than any other persuasive youtube videos I saw.
She is just so amazing and inspiring, me and my friends feel very blessed that she is our professor.
Thanks Ishan
“Focus on your efforts or duties. Forget about the outcome”
A simple and yet brilliant talk. Should appeal to every rational mind and help us remove the stigma associated with failure. Thank you for this. :)
Thank you for this simple yet inspiring talk, Ma'am.
Very inspiring talk. I hope everybody will follow your advice.
Splendid talk, Sandhya. One of the best TED talks I have heard so far.
I'm not the outcome, I am a part of the process, so I haven't failed, is an appealing argument to take me out of the failure-depression. It is a very positive way to look at failure and to cope with it. However, if I am the lead member responsible for the outcome, and if I relegate my role just as a component of the process, am I not undermining my leadership responsibility for the outcome? Will I not use this argument as an excuse to cover my failure?
Your talk is very provoking and different. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Still have many questions confronting me.

Humbled by your kind words Sathya - coming as they do from one of India's most seasoned entrepreneurs. The rest of the variables cannot become an excuse to abdicate one's responsibility towards the process. Identifying and managing them become part of the mandatory learning curve for the person concerned. The model enables one to go about learning and perfecting the process without the loss of confidence or self-esteem by potential interim setbacks in the outcome.
@Sandhya Shekhar I can't get over the lapping waves and the wind in your hair!
Thank you...
Glad it helped
@@sandhyashekhar9103 can I access more of your work elsewhere? Your conceptualisation of the failure/success dynamic has immensely helped me almost immediately and am curious to learn more as I find your style of teaching very easy to digest
