A good mod to use is amateur Electrician if you like leveling electrical. It gives one level and generator knowledge for 2 pts. I really like that you can make battery powered lamps at lvl 5 or 6 so I always level it up.

Off course you can deconstuct them when you pick them up but if you wanna take them with you (waiting for XP book for instance). Sollution: Make sure to carry them on your person and not in a bag. I have found that you can move through trees without being slowed down or getting scratched if you aim walk through them. Especially helpful while foraging. Yet another reason to level nimble
You won't be slowed by the trees, but the combat stance movement speed is super slow, so it only helps to not get scratched. A better way to avoid getting scratched in most circumstances is to use "walk to", as that allows you to quickly move through forested areas unless they form solid walls.

For the nomad's like myself who make their home in a car keeping seed bags is a good way to organize your main backpack. They weigh practically nothing and hold 6 units a piece with the organized trait. Material to construct a tent can usually be found in warehouses and construction sights. They weigh 3.5 compared to 8 for a mattress and 5 if you find a military cot If you can spare the weight a mug isn't a bad investment. I'm fairly certain you can't make coffee in anything else and it's a second container to boil 1 unit of water in. Imo it kills 2 birds cooking and purifying some water for later. On the topic of food stew is God. If you can hoard some salt, pepper and bouillon cubes you can burn through those perishables and fatten up for winter. It's the main reason I keep a stew pot on me. Fun tip - on second floor, building a wooden floor and then dissembling it will remove the floor and make a hole. So removing the floor tiles around the staircase will do the same as destroying the staircase with a sledgehammer.
While I know of it now (ofc), tip 54 would have made learning about combat SO MUCH EASIER for me when I first started playing. My biggest issue was being unable to do defensive "stuff" in combat, and this is one of the best ways to get out of tricky situations.
102: Firefighter clothing not only protects you alot, but also protects your NECK. Clothing that protects your neck are lifesaving, so keep this in mind. I was surprised how much people did not know that. The firefighter clothing might slow you up, but its better than being chomped on in the neck.

I don't know. Firefighter gear is heavy, makes you overheat easily, makes you move slower AND lowers your movement speed. The way I put it to my friend is that it's basically bruiser/tank armor, in a game where you don't want to get hit. I understand why people wear it, but it's not worth it to me.
re: tip #4, be aware your glasses can fall off your face if you trip and fall. Still a free trait, just keep a few spare pairs of glasses at your base in case you lose them

to add to tip 22-24 an antique oven can also be found in one of the abandoned houses near the also abandoned C.G.E. corp factory in the northwest of the map. One tip that I don't see people discuss often is that poisonous berries and mushrooms can be eaten without making you sick by adding them to salads with other ingredients
Honestly most helpful project zomboid youtuber in my opinion I've only just started playing recently with a friend and actually got to live more than 2 days by looking at your videos.
I like lucky because it’s funny being in America and truly finding a gun case in about half the nightstands or dressers in any given house. Also if you want a truly reliable weapon and were lucky enough to find a machete, attaching it to a spear and reclaiming it resets the “repaired” amount, allowing you to repair it twice and have a 50%+ machete until just reattaching it to a spear and repeating.
Some very useful information there, some things I knew and some I didn't! There's always new things to learn about Project Zomboid and the community in general and videos like this are so useful! I would like to add an Addition to Tip 78: those long warehouses are great to visit later in a playthrough as well. All the sacks of produce will become rotten fairly quickly making them a gold mine of compostable material, so take a vehicle with a decent capacity and stock up!
Yeah some useful stuff for sure, but a lot of these are exploits and if you intend to play the game as, well...intended...then you shouldn't use them. Also, it's like the tips are designed for a child who had too much sugar and had ADHD and zero patience...why should you have to do everything quickly? Part of the allure of the game is just...surviving. Trying to speedrun everything destroys a lot of the vibe it was meant to go for. Also, another flaw in this RUclipsr's logic is him thinking you should level everything up...no, you should figure out what kind of character you want, and then play to those strengths. Your playstyle should thus change based on the kind of character you have...this guy complains of being bored a lot, so it surprises me that he'd always try to play the same way, but I guess if you're impatient this thought wouldn't occur to you
I have played project zomboid for 512 hours and am just now finding out that "jogging" and "Sprinting" are different things. I have never sprinted in project zomboid. I just assumed it got faster the higher you got but never bothered grinding the skill because it takes too long.
same here!!! I honestly thought I knew everything after 2 years and feel incredibly dumb right now… oh well, at least I'm not the only one xD also, at what point is it a UI issue if the most common keybinding for sprinting defaults to jogging instead? and you still level up sprinting while jogging so there is no indication of smth being wrong? idk, I get that it's a game without hand holding. this just seems like unnecessary difficulty/annoyance for players switching from other games.
@@emmaschneider3638I don’t think the keybind is a UI issue, because 99% of the time you want to jog rather than sprint. Even crouch-jogging on a baseline fit character who’s encumbered is fast enough to comfortably escape almost any situation. Frankly I’m not sure why sprinting exists.

Also, why do you have to do everything quickly? The best part of the game is surviving at your own pace, no need to rush everything like you're some child on a sugar rush
About tip 38: Don't bother leveling carpentry if you're only going to use it for barrels. There's plenty barrels you can take in garden shops and other establishments like restaurants. There's a chance to break them if you attempt to move them but there's usually quite a few and you only really need one or two.
27:30 downloaded the game recently and when i was looting my house i thought that having a clock would be useful, so i took one of those, and you can guess how i died
I'm surprised someone who hates Nimble as much as you isn't using the mod "Standardised Nimble XP". The default settings are overzealous, but setting it to the minimum values feels just right IMO. Try it out.
This is majorly obscure but getting a point in nimble doesn't just give 75% xp but actually 300%. Its badly worded but normal xp gain is actually 25% so 75% is x3 normal xp It makes the skill actually feel more balanced. If you dont have bonus XP in nimble....well thats just pure agony and honestly a reason to reroll.
For tip 57, what would be the recommended armor for making sure you don't get the moodle but also stay relatively protected? I tend to do police jacket, bulletproof vest, fire fighter pants, helmet, and desert boots
Electrical level 4 lets you power lamps via battery. Which, as someone in month 6, and desperate for light (6 gens, no magazine), electrical sounds really nice. There's also an antique oven in Muldraugh below the Self-Storage Buildings, and above the Laundromat. Or depending how you view maps; East of the Self Storage, West of the Laundromat.
If you run or jog you can still be grabbed, I learned that the hard way, I honestly don't know how you were not grabbed. I also realised if you try to escape trough a window and a Z is coming from the outside you will be pushed back into the building.
@@Gaz_minis no, i was only depressed but that shouldnt do anything about it. Sometimes they also bite me while I hit them with a knife. All settings are default on appocalipse.
Tip 24: actually the easiest to get antique oven is in one of the houses in the abandoned neighborhood west of Riverside. The house with it is right next to asphalt road so no trecking required ❤
That heat death one reminds me of the time we used dynamic moodles/traits or whatever it was called. Basically your traits influence your moodles and vice versa if I recall. The critical flaw in this being that we used other mods (obviously) and those mixed to make several nonsensical deathtraps I was stuck fighting zombies outside that I couldn't shake off, but I ultimately killed, only to catch corpse sickness and just was unable to lose it. He just kept sweating due to becoming queasy and wouldn't cool down due to my character becoming sicker and thus becoming warmer. It was such a bizarre death loop that frankly sucked absolute shit because my moodles would just keep cascading until I finally died. That was what finally convinced them to remove the mod. That and the fact it started happening to one of the other combat heavy people, and also the gun guy. Of course we also still had disinfect or die, which by the way, kills you even when you do disinfect. So not much changed.
A trick to help zomboid preformance is to allocate more ram. This isn't exactly a beginner endeavor as it involves manually editing game files. There are guides out there, and doing this helps the game run better in general.

Tip 34 Antique ovens indeed do not have the option to play vhs tapes. While technically true, does seem like something that should not have to be said😂 (yes i understand tv was meant)
There is another antique oven spawn in Louisville at the best housing spot south of the mall on the second floor of the construction house at the rich neighborhood with the kid's playground park. It also has unlimited water, wood fire places in almost every house and close access to the mall, gas station, and unmatched zed chokepoints.
I have taken a liking to starting with 9+ fitness but 0 strength. It is so much easier to level strength with just fighting zombies regularly and eating your proteins, that you can easily get 4+ strength in the first 20 days.
Tip 34: Correct, Antique OVENS do not have the ability to play VHS tapes. Nor do Antique TVs have the ability to... I'm not sure why the fact that Antique OVENS cannot use the tapes was pointed out, though. It's quite obvious...

Sooo……
@12:05 "Antique ovens do not have the ability to use VHS tapes." On the contrary, I find that VHS tapes are quite palatable after being cooked in an old stove. I don't gain knowledge... I consume it.
12:05 who would’ve thought that you can’t play vhs tapes in an antique oven
26:30 thats why im leaving a like. I remembered this song a moth ago and i was listening to it every where lol. That was gold back then damn. It is weird that you referenced it.
if you play with reduced loot spawns lucky can be the difference between life and starvation

Just wanted to let you know you have VERY rapidly become my favorite RUclipsr! love all your videos and sooooo thankful for your tutorials and tips, I just made it 2 months in PZ thanks to your videos 😁
Only thing is, a lot of these tips seem to cater to ADHD-raddled people with zero patience...like, some of these "tips" are just exploits and if you really want to play the game as intended you shouldn't be using them. Also, why do you have to do everything quickly? The best part of the game is surviving at your own pace, no need to rush everything like you're some child on a sugar rush
@@tevarinvagabond1192💯
some of us like to smell the flowers (or zombie corpses). others like to minmax. whatever floats the boat
Today i learned after nearly 300 hours playing this game i've never once sprinted
Will continue later
2:11 Tip 1
2:23 Tip 2

3:32 Tip 6
It was here I first learned that Antique Ovens do not have the ability to use VHS tapes ;)
About short sighted - Why doesn't anyone mention the fact that some head covers don't work with glasses?
About tip 38: Don't bother leveling carpentry if you're only going to use it for barrels. There's plenty barrels you can take in garden shops and other establishments like restaurants. There's a chance to break them if you attempt to move them but there's usually quite a few and you only really need one or two.
27:30 downloaded the game recently and when i was looting my house i thought that having a clock would be useful, so i took one of those, and you can guess how i died
lol
I'm surprised someone who hates Nimble as much as you isn't using the mod "Standardised Nimble XP". The default settings are overzealous, but setting it to the minimum values feels just right IMO. Try it out.
This is majorly obscure but getting a point in nimble doesn't just give 75% xp but actually 300%. Its badly worded but normal xp gain is actually 25% so 75% is x3 normal xp
It makes the skill actually feel more balanced. If you dont have bonus XP in nimble....well thats just pure agony and honestly a reason to reroll.
“Don’t take lucky” 90% of gamblers give up right before they hit big though
For anyone wondering, the beat is "Timothy Infinite - Skin Tone" 🔥 Chill vid Predz.
"if you wanna sacrifice a machete for 13 spears, just refund the game and buy a helmet" best insult i have ever heard 😂😂
Just started PZ yesterday after watching most of the 1000 days series, this vid couldn't have dropped at a better time.
Jeezus, 6 generators and no magazine?
Did you search every library you could find?
You are correct sir at the 12:08 mark. Antique ovens can not in fact play vhs tapes
If you run or jog you can still be grabbed, I learned that the hard way, I honestly don't know how you were not grabbed. I also realised if you try to escape trough a window and a Z is coming from the outside you will be pushed back into the building.
You might have been fatigued?
@@Gaz_minis no, i was only depressed but that shouldnt do anything about it. Sometimes they also bite me while I hit them with a knife. All settings are default on appocalipse.
"Antique Ovens do not have the ability to use VHS Tapes" I wouldnt think they could. Putting a CD in an oven would probably have the same issue. 12:03
11:06 “that being said if you use a machete to craft 13 spears refund the game and buy a helmet”
Tip 24: actually the easiest to get antique oven is in one of the houses in the abandoned neighborhood west of Riverside. The house with it is right next to asphalt road so no trecking required ❤
"Antique ovens do not have the ability to use VHS tapes" (12:04)
I'd be very surprised if they did.
There's an antique oven at a house in Muldraugh. Right by the road.
Lucky is nice to have for foraging, although I suppose there are better traits that allow better foraging bonuses.
12:05 Yes, you're right. Antique ovens can indeed not play vhs tapes. Very informative yes yes
Video starts at 02:10.

Me- WHAAAAT 🫨🫨🫨
That heat death one reminds me of the time we used dynamic moodles/traits or whatever it was called.
Basically your traits influence your moodles and vice versa if I recall. The critical flaw in this being that we used other mods (obviously) and those mixed to make several nonsensical deathtraps
I was stuck fighting zombies outside that I couldn't shake off, but I ultimately killed, only to catch corpse sickness and just was unable to lose it.

"Antique ovens do not have the ability to use VHS tapes."
Do normal ovens have that ability? I never knew. 😂😂😂
But seriously, this video was very helpful. I'm a new player. Thanks!
Hey predz at 12:05 you said antique ovens instead of televisions. Keep up the amazing work, I am so sorry about your world record attempt. Was there live and actually shed a tear.
9:28 but I eat burnt food all the time in real life. Unrealistic game(my heart feels like it’s gonna give out)
I finally figured out why my antique ovens weren’t working, I was trying to use vhs tapes on them 12:05
12:05 "Antique ovens cannot use VHS tapes" Dude they never could 💀
12:05 "Antique Ovens do not have the ability to use VHS tapes..." - I would hope not.
I will never use a browser that isn't Firefox in my life. Now, on with the video.
2:30 I mean it was called an Ohio mall for a reason 💀
17:34 Not sure about tip 54. What happened to me once is I was running past single zombie but he was able to attack me anyway. And this single attack gave me a bite so I had to restart.
There's also an antique oven in lv in the mansion that's being renovated where the rare brick wall tile is too. It's the mansions that are to the east of the firestation from liberating lv
12:05 - "Antique ovens do NOT have the ability to use VHS tapes."
I mean... You're not wrong. xD
Tip 34 Antique ovens indeed do not have the option to play vhs tapes. While technically true, does seem like something that should not have to be said😂 (yes i understand tv was meant)
12:07 "Antique Ovens dont have the ability to use VHS tapes" I'd be concerned if my Oven had a VHS slot ngl
There is another antique oven spawn in Louisville at the best housing spot south of the mall on the second floor of the construction house at the rich neighborhood with the kid's playground park. It also has unlimited water, wood fire places in almost every house and close access to the mall, gas station, and unmatched zed chokepoints.
There is an antique oven in Louisville park at the visitor’s center in the upper right corner of the park.
12:07 of course they can't they're ovens
Ben's cabin out by the lakes by west point has an oven.
12:05 huh never knew antique ovens could ever play VHS tapes in the first place
12:06 oh no, how will i watch my VHS tapes with my antique oven now??!! 😢
I have taken a liking to starting with 9+ fitness but 0 strength. It is so much easier to level strength with just fighting zombies regularly and eating your proteins, that you can easily get 4+ strength in the first 20 days.
12:05 "**Antique ovens** do not have the abillity to play VHS tapes"
Tip 34: Correct, Antique OVENS do not have the ability to play VHS tapes. Nor do Antique TVs have the ability to... I'm not sure why the fact that Antique OVENS cannot use the tapes was pointed out, though. It's quite obvious...
Just realized on my second time watching that tip 34 you said "antique ovens do not have the ability to play vhs tapes" while clicking on the antique TV lol
I stared playing PZ this year. And honestly if it wasn't for yr videos I would gave up a long time ago. But I'm still noobish but it only makes it 10x fun because I have no idea what I'm doing
I noticed the Kill Bill reference with the Katana at 27:57 . Nice.
i lost my shit at "if you sacrifice a machete for 13 spears refund the game and purhcase a helmet" xD
my guy got the classic opera GX intro. My little predz moving up in the world
I wake up, see "Uploaded 48 seconds ago" and I know it's gonna be a good day. 10/10 work here, sir.
12:05 "Antique ovens do not the ability to use VHS tapes."
Hmmm... something about this seems true. I'm not really sure i believe it though...
you're telling me i've been playing this game FOR A YEAR AND I DIDNT KNOW I COULD SPRINT
