I think a lot of the flak about Dak may come from the conference he plays in.
Lamar and Josh kinda get it easier since Kansas City is holding the AFC hostage with an iron grip, and they've still at least been able to make it to the title game. Meanwhile the NFC has seen a lot more parity, yet the Cowboys still can't get past the Divisional Round. And since they got blown out so badly against Green Bay, it's fair enough for fans to assume that this Dallas team has plateaued and isn't gonna get better than they are now.
That's not all Dak's fault, he's really just inheriting the franchise curse, but he ain't exactly helping to elevate them come playoff time either.

I find it silly that you would think that you CANT get better without Dak. Look at Purdy! He has talent everywhere and is successful. Take that 40 mill put it to something else and a rookie QB, it could work. No it’s not LIKELY you get better by going away from Dak but it’s more plausible it today’s NFL with all the wheeling and dealing teams are willing to do. To be honest the cowboys should have already gotten rid of Dak and kept Amari Cooper. Imagine if they had traded Dak for a top pick in the 2020 draft. They could literally have drafted Tua or possibly Burrow or hell J Love along with CeeDee I just think holding on to Dak has been a voluntary handicap.

They cannot surround Dak with any more talent that he has had year after year. At some point, he should have lifted his team above that hump and moved forward. But, even during the regular season, he has a tough time beating winning record teams. So in the playoffs, he is faced with teams that have had all year and are rolling and he just cannot win. For example, last year, the Chiefs had horrible receivers. And that didn't stop Mahomes from changing his game and in the end, they won another Superbowl. He didn't have all the pro-ballers that the Cowboys had, but his still pushed his team ahead. Dak has had 4 years and in January he is not good. So when you are gonna pay the man $60million+ per year, you have to believe he is either going to get over that hump or it's not worth it. And if it's not worth it, then you better figure out how you are gonna trade up in the draft to get the best possible new QB

If Dak doesn't get the Cowboys at least to the NFCC, the Cowboys need to let hiim walk and draft a qb in the 1st rd. A rookie can lose in the playoffs just as well as a $60m a year qb.
