    My dad has mastered this song his job was a guitar teacher and he could teach up to grade 8 it took him 2 years to master it but I never appreciated how hard it was he was constantly playing when I was a kid and all I wanted to do was watch cartoons and used to get annoyed with him constantly playing but I'm so proud of him now

    Tavi - the depth of finger placement and activity explanations (e.g. hammers on and pull offs), along with right hand picking sequencing reflect your wonderfully patient teaching style. I’m glad you offered the advice you gave for beginners and even for folks like me who’ve been playing for decades (recv’d first guitar on my 10th B-day...1963). Also, your demonstration video of Cavatina on the Córdoba Hauser was flawless and has become my new favorite instrumental piece. Thank you for that!

    Finally! someone validates how hard this piece is. The first player I met who played this for me actually claimed it was easy and I have beat myself up for years because I have found it impossible to get the first two or three measures down.

      Let me tell you my experience I too struggled with this piece a few years ago I pretty much stopped playing it but then I decided to attack my bar chord technique and a few months later it took me just 4 days to master this piece and play it flawlessly frankly its quite easy for me now the reason people find it hard is because they squeeze too hard which creates tension

  • @allan2098
    @allan2098 2 месяца назад

    This guitarist is very talented and this is an introduction to this piece.
    Going deeper into the musicality of the piece, one big thing is missing.
    This is actually originally for two guitars.
    I have had conversations with very esteemed guitarists that conclude the same thing.
    The bass notes need to come slightly before the lyrical notes.
    This helps to distinguish that there is a background melody and a lyrical melody, two seperate things that should be distinct.
    Listen to John Williams playing this and it is only obvious when you listen for it, but it brings a depth to the music.
    He actually demonstrates this at 3:35 in an extreme example, but that is what I am getting at.
    This piece is relatively easy to play but hard to master.
    Mastering it requires this attention to musicality.

    Master, you are right! It’s a punishing for the righthand. I’ve learned all bars and are able to play them, but the righthand, everytime, is very difficult. In the beginning I thought that it was the highnis of my bridge, like playing on a FLETA. But is is the strenghts in your bridgehand, specially the thump ball! Thank you for your view and lessons! Alexander, France.👍🎶❤️

    It actually looked easy upon first seeing others play it--was I wrong! The first measure bar is where I have difficulty making the B-note sound without having my third finger on the forth string G# touch the 3rd string B-note because of the pinky stretch on the high E-string. Wow!
    And I do appreciate that he assures us that it will come with practice. I have already made up my mind to purchase his video. Twenty dollars isn't too much to pay for guidance in the rest of the tutorial. Thank you, for a well-made part one.

    What a fantastic detailed step-by-step slowly and encouraging lesson to learn a deceptively (when just listening) very hard and beautiful piece. I feel like De Niro & Team trapped in that cage ready to play their way to freedom, "I want three barre chords, give me three!" Really appreciate you sharing what will be a long-term project for me thank you...

    Thank you for the lesson. I was curious about the John Williams recording. It sounds like he recorded the piece as a whole but went back and tracked the high note melody as a second track? You can tell because a single microphone picks up a very pronounced melody.

    First, thank you for the video. Question, Would it be possible to play rest stroke with the complementary? Alternating the right hand between the middle sound hole with the melody. And close to the bridge with the complementary? Would this give the effect of 2 or maybe even 3 voices?

    WHAT ABOUT THE BEFORE and AFTER?; are there any therapeutic actions one needs to take to otherwise "Condition" the finger board hand as in warm ups or stretches?
    What about After a long practice session?
    I've played since I was 17, I am now 66 and quite frankly, it takes me about 20 minutes to get some fluency and THAT might allow me about a half hour to play (with any sense of dignity) then my FB hand just won't respond?
    I used to play for 8 hours a day and now my hands are rebelling.
    This tune IS an Athletic endeavour the reach you need and the change up transitions are some of the most complicated, surely only the well advanced should even embark on it

    For me the hardest part is the bar chords in the beginning, especially the A chord played with the bar and D shape fingers. For some reason my second and third finger keep bunching up and I'm failing to get the notes ringing crisp. It's literally that chord that is ruining my life right now. lol

    Please, how do you avoid the open strings to resonate ? Sometimes i hear my open strings resonate (for example in bar n*8, when pulling down A to G#). Do you use right hand/thumb to mute some strings?
    Thanks for masterclass

    • @michaeltokarev2845
      @michaeltokarev2845 4 года назад

      On the end of bar 8 when you play A in melody you still have finger p resting on string 5th (after rest-stroke on bass in the beginning of bar8), and when you pull-off to G you immediately use small barreh in the next bar and play string 5 again. There's nothing to resonate there.

    I wanted to learn this piece, but after listening to the introduction, I do not dare to begin with it.

      @@andrewconanan4684 No; a subscription fee (monthly or yearly) offers unlimited access to the entire library of resources within a certain guitar track (classical, jazz or flamenco).

      Cool. I completed/finished Romanza and Lagrima already (it was free thank you!) just polishing up. I have just finished Part 1 of Cavatina. It’s been frustrating until I saw the hand stretching exercises video on youtube. Amazing how it helped my hand flexibility! Now I think I’m ready for Tango En Skai😁! I will subscribe for sure. I used to play folk music (Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon & Garfiunkel, JT, Don McLean etc..) but I’ve always dreamed of playing classical and jazz music.. Now with this Work From Home (due to Covid 19) arrangement, I get to listen and practice more! Any recommendations on a good but not too pricey guitar? I have a 20 yr old Cordoba.
