Demon hunter is Christian. I have been listening to them since I was 16-17 years old. Please look at their lyrics in detail. They may not mention Jesus in all their songs, but in order to reach people you have to connect with them. For example, the bands Skillet& Spoken, after they perform a few songs, that's when they announce they are Christian and Love Jesus.
I can agree with what you are saying about how a listener has to connect to a band in order for them to actually stick with them long enough to get a message of God into them. They are not a traditional Christian band in any way at all because of how they go about spreading their message. I have been listening to them since their very first album and they have changed quite a bit over the years as all bands do. Yes, there are other bands that are more in your face and outright in their message and that works for them and their type of music. Devin Arnette I've been a fan since day 1, last 2-3 albums have been there absolute best imo and their live show is incredible Not sure how I feel about these new songs ..hoping they grow on me
Devin Arnette Unfortunately, one song can't make up for an album. But, there are some really good songs on here that prove clean vocals don't suck, and they've been proving that for the last three albums.
Dakota Pencak I'm just saying that even coming this far Demon Hunter has kept the heaviness, although there are countless bands who have found the success of past albums to be "good enough" and stop trying to.Also take account that this is ONE heavy song, they could have not tried anymore.
After thinking about this for some time, this song is referring to the Cross. Eyes wide from the pain. See red because of the darkness and death. Bloodshed because, well, self explanatory. But it wasn't from the pain he was enduring. It was His love for us that made him weep. He weeped in the fact that he hoped this is what would get us to believe. Think of that. He endured the most humiliating death and the most painful because He knew we were worth saving. This ain't religion. This is what you get when you've finally reached a close, personal relationship with the God who saved us and loves us. Demon Hunter and many other Christian bands are simply extending His message as Christians are supposed to! Because of his undying love, I'm Why Jesus Wept.
Seriously, who thought the death on the cross was just a cakewalk? Back in those times, the cross was THE most humiliating death for a person to face. What they did to him, they have even said, they did things to Him than they had other ones that went up on the cross and before the cross. So to say that when he died was easy, it's just arrogance and that death was the MOST horrifying brutal death a man could face. To say it wouldn't be hard hitting and in your face would just be heartless and it would mean that they just don't care or even begin to fathom what kind of pain that was to endure! I may not know how painful it was, but I do know that when he was in the garden talking to His Father, He was so distressed that he was bleeding and sweating. Which means, none of us will fully know what kind of pain that is.
The garden of Gethsemane. Where he was grieved even unto death and sweat blood knowing he would bear the sin of the world. This is what I have always seen this song referring to.

One of the most brutally truthful songs I've ever heard. We are why Jesus had to die on the cross. Gives me a reason to stop myself when I want to do something, or even have thoughts about things, that oppose Godliness. Think of the sacrifices made by both Father and Son. It brings me back to reality. A truly great song.
