I am honestly so relieved this whole thing is over. I wasn't planning on doing this but I'm glad I decided to record my decision reactions because now I have too much time. Hopefully she is not so caught up with all these bullshit and find her way to happiness and contentment. How are the parents going to pay for an Ivy League school? Get a 3rd job in a sweat shop? Competition for students are fierce bc it’s about money, not brain power. Either by financial aid from private or govt programs. It’s about money.
Mk Dc but they meet full financial need for us citizens, so if low income I don’t think it would be a problem
@ ivy leagues aren’t very harsh if they accept ur financial aid, looking at the rates he would be mostly free since he said low income, tuition would be free, but idk about dorm

Even if you work incredibly hard, there’s still a chance you won’t get in. If you have a great GPA, but a crap essay, you’re not getting in. If you have a low GPA, and and excellent essay, you still probably won’t get in. All I’m saying is there’s a lot of variables. If you don’t know your major and are confused that’s okay. But if you *actually* want to get in, you’ll need to figure that out.

i mean it helps but it doesn't matter if your extracurriculars and essays are just alright. Coming from someone who had a 4.0 and a 1580 SAT and got rejected from everything but Boston U.

Smart student : I got accepted into 7 ivy league schools.
Me: I don't even have the money to pay for the application fee to 7 ivy league schools.
Oh you have to pay the fee to apply?
@@ainunnajihah549 Yes, there is an application fee n it varies among the colleges.
You could apply for fee waivers
I applied to three ivy leagues this year and didn’t have to pay for any applications fees due to the application fee waiver that they give to students with low incomes so if you got ACT/SAT fee waivers or reduced lunch then you don’t need to worry about that

@Quon Howery same bro. I can’t relate on uni acceptance level but recently, I took an algebra 1 cbe just cause I didn’t want to take it in school and I freaking passed somehow. I was so excited and told my mom and thought she would be happy but she was like ok cool 😢😭😢. It sucks cause I thought she would be happier but the way I view it, it’s cause they know what we’re capable of and aren’t shocked when we actually achieve it. Btw this was such a wholesome vid, 10/10

for ivy league schools, a lot will most likely reject you if they know other ivy schools would accept you there is no way you could get accepted into all the colleges you apply for mhmmhmh
@@migueldiaz9876 Sounds like an excuse by someone not good enough. You do know the majority in those colleges are those "not sought out". Getting into an ivy depends on many factors not just stellar grades and extracurriculars.

I think this is what happens when you reduce your worth to a bunch of scores. This guy has clearly a way more interesting story that he gives himself credit for. Schools think he can add significant value to campus conversations, and that is what schools are at times looking for. Beyond a certain score threshold, your story starts to matter more. His family dynamics ( where a mother can call her son a safety choice) is quite interesting and I’m sure there’s a lot he can add to campus culture and not just to campus academics 😊

Okay,so i'm a highschool student from iran(ik,my chances are LITERALLY negative) but I really need to get into my dream school(s)!so i've been thinking about studying my senior year abroad if that's even possible.the thing that hurts me the most is in 2018,only 4 persian students got accepted into harvard!but i think i'd be applying to about 80 schools all around the world so i'd at least have a chance.but i'd love to see your essays and the whole process!btw just subscribed:)
that's super cool! yeah, the admissions process is extra tough on international students but if your dream schools don't work out don't worry too much! there are so many ways to get an amazing education. best of luck on your journey :)
