Not my experience!..... Late 60's early 70's after a broadway play my wife and I passed by Jilly's and decided to go in for a drink. (First and only time.) To our surprise Frank was there at his table. I went over and asked him to autograph a napkin for my wife. All I did was say hello and he was very nice and responsive. He even sent a drink to our table. Before we left I sent one over to his table and someone came back and said thanks but it wasn't necessary. I insisted and he accepted. We were thrilled.

Frank was known for his temper AND his incredible generosity. Where was Jilly’s located? Miami Beach?

Fuck'n east coast guys. I live in west Texas and this family from Boston came into this Italian restaurant where I was working at. I was sweeping and when I turned around I sort of almost ran into one of the guys. I didn't see him. In a typical a Boston accent he tells me " Hey you better watch it or I'll knock you the fuck out." or something to that effect.
It was a weird. I mean I've encountered such hostility before at bars, parties, and at school but in a family restaurant?...This was at Romano's Macaroni Grill which is a little bit more expensive than Olive Garden. Not classy but not ghetto either.
It was a very strange moment for me.

Cinemashot Critique I hear ya. I'm from Jersey and everyone seems pissed off or just ready to blow up. I was in LA in 2013 and it was so calm and loving. I was walking down Hollywood Blvd and a homeless guy said "Hey brother smile it's a beautiful day" It was surprising he didn't ask for shit so I walked up to him put on a huge smile gave him 3 bucks and kept walking. The West is the best!

I'm not sure why the hosts are laughing their heads off. If that story is true and Frank's bodyguards beat the guy up and left him almost unconscious on the floor, that's pretty damn fucked up.
