Gene was my hero when I was very young; got my picture taken with him in Florence, Az when I was 5 years old, but everybody thought it was my own dad; they looked very similar. Then I went on to Mickey Mantle and later in life Jesus is my hero, since age 42 and I guess He'll always be my favorite HERO! Thanks be to God!
Notice how tall the candles are at 21:05 and how short they are at 26:32. LOL I began to remember this with the dinner in the old saloon, then the stage robbery The mention of the money in "canvas bags" was the real trigger or my memory.!!! Its been 71 years since I saw this in 'Nerk' Ohio, at = a Sat matinee in the Grand theater along with a Capt. Midnight serial. Now if my short term memory were only as good. LOL When I was 14YO I didnt realize Gene played both himself and his dad I I also didnt realize how stunt men can make fights (everything) look so real.. LOL. LOL
With the hypocritical Black Lives Matter movement in full speed right now, it should only be a matter of time, before Mr. Autry is reviled for being white. Maybe eliminate all his namesake honors, be replaced with the names of prominent black cop killers.
Thanks for a great movie !
