Hey Gabriel. For me personally, it seems that the more detailed I plan in my sparring, the more things that can go wrong from the perfect execution. Do I just keep trying different plans and executions? And also, me and my friends are loving the content. Keep it up. We would really appreciate a lesson on distance management. Thanks!
I think you're probably planning too much man. You're going to be facing all sorts of styles sparring, you'll need to adapt a bunch. Much better to just choose one or two things to work on and then do that. Unless you're sparring hard you should be working on techniques, strategies, principals, to then take into harder contact.
It's very nice that even a fighter like Varga still has something new to learn (little change play style etc), just because he has interesting fighters against him
Well the McGregor example is a bad one because he was drilling that exact counter in the locker room before the fight. It was shown during the broadcast showing fighters warming up.
He was saying that he didn't plan that it would happen exactly at that point, Connor got lucky because the situation presented itself so early in the fight, but he didn't plan for the 5 second KO
They called Petrosyan the “Doctor”, but I think Gabriel really deserves the title. Sure, Petrosyan had great timing and reflexes, but Gabriel is really a “Doctor” in the sense that he’s super methodical in the way he approaches and prepares for his fights… not just skills, but method.
Love your channel. I'm not even a fight fan, but love and respect anything that requires skill, displine and hard work to perform at high levels Strategy is icing on the cake for me. Love your breakdown of your fights and analysis.
Gabriel idk if you’ll read this but your my favorite martial art channel ever! Super duper underrated and watching you fight every second I’m intrigued. Stay safe keep up the content hope the best
I'ma try the your magnesium supplement. I've been going very hard the past couple of weeks and my recovery is just not there. That combined with a full time job and OT makes it very difficult to get my recovery dialed in.
1. I'd say that Masvidal vs. Askren was the perfect fight. Masvidal knew that Askren would shoot for a takedown early, so he charged in and hit him with a flying knee as he changed levels for the takedown, knocking him out instantly. I don't think you can call it luck or a fluke because it was obviously planned, and in most cases when you hit someone with a flying knee as they're changing levels, it's going to result in a KO. 2. I think the announcers assumed he was giving you problems because normally you move forward, and in this fight you were backing up and circling, so if they're familiar with your normal style, it definitely looks like he's giving you problems with his pressure, even if he's not really connecting with much. 3. You didn't mention that with those 3rd round front kicks, they were well set up with feints first, which were causing him to freeze, allowing you to move in closer to throw them.
I think announcers are meant for the segment of the audience who knows little about the discipline. If you have the understanding then you don't need them, but if you don't have it then it's fun to listen at them "spicing it up" with layman's words.
correction.... mcgregor 100% predicted aldo would load that right hand he literally said "i see him, i see him with that right hand, if he throws that...i will be not be there, so....i predict a 1st round knockout" it's part of what made him such a ridiculous superstar...mystic mac. Anyways, love your channel brother. Stay blessed.
Gabriel, great episode as usual. I don't think there is anyone else who can give such sincere compliments to their opponent while explaining how they beat them. Ever thought about moving to coaching eventually? Looking forward to your next episode.
Hey there Gabriel. I’ve been training myself for the past two years and I was just able to train back at my gym yesterday. What surprised me however was just how fast I got exhausted after two rounds of sparring with someone less experienced than me. I took a break and sparred another two rounds with my instructor and also got exhausted after the second round. Is this normal?
I'd like to support and buy some of the magnesium supplement but I am uneducated on the use of it. Does anyone have any good resources that I can refer to so I can educate myself on the subject before I start using them?
Would definitely like to see the full fight with your analysis 🙂
Yes! Let’s see the full fight. I’d like to see how you incorporate the angling and range control in more detail.
Got some bioptomizers w your code. Your videos helped me improve drastically so I figured it’s really the least I could do
Full fight, full fight, FULL FIGHT! FULL FIGH! FULL FIGHT!

Yea, you had to be familiar with that whole fight promotion build-up to see he planned the whole thing. Quite a moment in fight history.
He was saying that he didn't plan that it would happen exactly at that point, Connor got lucky because the situation presented itself so early in the fight, but he didn't plan for the 5 second KO

Hey Gabriel do you take creatine for your fights/training. What are your thoughts on creatine for combat sports?
Great BUT really bad for weight cutting as it holds lots of water.
Gabriel, great episode as usual. I don't think there is anyone else who can give such sincere compliments to their opponent while explaining how they beat them. Ever thought about moving to coaching eventually? Looking forward to your next episode.
full fight with you breaking down :DDD

Gabriel I have a question for you. What do you think of Alistar? Can you take him if given a chance?
Overeem??? He would crush me. Not because of skill differential. Size.
The almost 100lbs weight advantage would give me 0 chance 😀
Bro this question is ridiculous 🤣😭
😂😂😂😂😂

Fun fact: In German "Faust" means "fist". So, actually your opponent had a cool fighter's name. Well, did not pay off for him, however.

Wrong, McGregor planned that shot, there's footage of him practicing it in the locker room
It's PERFETTO, not perfecto
