The low reactivity foods that you have known allergies to are likely on the list because there are no traces of that food in your system. I read that the test only picks up on what is in your system and that periodic tests are recommended to really narrow down all problematic foods (if needed).
This! What happens in these tests is the Igg tests don't tell you what your sensitive too but it in fact has a memory of what you've eaten a lot of (hence why eggs for her was number one and also why peanuts was high up and tree nuts was low along with chocolate since she hasn't eaten them) These kind of tests can have people cutting out very important foods in their life thinking they have a sensitivity to it. I'm hoping more people can learn about how inaccurate these tests can be!
@@Hey_Its_Meg just wanted to say that I've had this type of test done (with a doctor) and things I had every day, like coffee, did not show up as reactive, while things I never eat, like bananas and grapefruit (I don't like them), showed up as highly reactive. I tested back in 2014 and removed all 49 foods from my diet for over a month. Some of the things that I only had a "mild" reaction to, like corn and white potatoes, actually created a really crazy response in my body. Potatoes make my knees hurt and corn gives me serious anxiety. Some of the foods, like egg yolk, I realized I can only eat fully cooked. It's the raw or over easy egg yolk protein that I'm reactive to, and it's like that with many of the foods. You cook them and that alters their proteins and they become less reactive.
There is a difference between a food sensitivity and food allergies. It’s two different kinds of immunoglobulin types. Sensitivities are IgG and food allergies are IgE. The everlywell tests use IgG so they won’t actually see the allergies, just the sensitivities. If there’s something you know you are allergic to, don’t mess with it. If it’s something you eat daily, you won’t notice the sensitivity until you eliminate it from your diet for a while because your body will have the nutrients from that food in it constantly and not see it as something it is sensitive to.
I did the food test.. Was very underwhelmed with the results.. They need to come up with a test that can detect sensitivities to Histamine, Lectins, Phytic Acid, Inflammatory response..
@@amandathompson6327 I really do not think they are very accurate.. I also did an MRT test and not sure if that's even a reliable test.. You really have to do extensive researching and listen to your body how it reacts to foods
Thanks for sharing this! Just remember that allergies and sensitivities are very different so if you have an allergy it may not show up as a sensitivity and vice versa. Please do not eat foods you are allergic to!
I just did a sensitivity test. In all reality we should be fed through a tube for weeks and give the gut a Chance to rest. And then we should start over.
Thanks for your reply. I find that stress is what causes the gut health to change over time. I think research is studying how it changes. Are you familiar with FMT?
Stress DEFINITELY impacts gut health! I've experienced that first hand 😅 I haven't heard of FMT before, but it sounds like it's something I need to look into and learn about?!
It’s fecal microbiota transplant.. it’s given to people who had a round of antibiotics and developed c diff. I was thinking if it’s done for a messed up guy it can also be done for people who do not have c diff.. although the research is still in the infant stages.
I kept reading all these things people saying they could barely get enough blood. I ran my hand under hot water for a minute like it said and after I squeezed a little for the first one the blood just kept coming and I was like STOP! So hope that's not a separate issue lol
@@BalancingLaura I don’t agree with kale either. Spinach I can do in smoothies, but I can taste kale if I use that instead. Yuck! My Everlywell test is arriving today, and I’m anxious to find out the results. On one hand, I’m hoping I do have a sensitivity to something because it would explain a lot of the issues I’ve been having, but on the other hand, I’m worried it’ll be something I eat all the time. I have an eating disorder called ARFID that is basically extreme pickiness, and I have a very hard time changing my diet, so I’m hoping I’ll be sensitive to foods I can easily cut out.
I'm allergic to wheat, corn, all nuts, seeds, most fruit, red dye and shrimp. None of these except nuts came until I was am adult. I also have issues with dairy so I just limit it
Hey! It's hard to say specifically how accurate the test is. For me, it was a great starting point for me to explore what foods agreed/didn't agree with me. There were some foods that came up as reactive in the test that didn't seem to cause me any problems after doing the elimination diet. However, I don't know for sure what those foods are causing internally on a smaller scale (if that makes sense). I hope this helps!

If you have not eaten chocolate since you were very young then how do you know you’re still sensitive to it?

Chocolate also has milk/dairy unless you eat dark chocolate which has a percentage of how pure it is it would say like for example 75% cocoa.

Sorry to hear the results were underwhelming for you! I like your idea - I would certainly be interested in taking that test!
How many things were you sensitive to on it? Mine came back today and it's a long list which doesn't seem right

I feel you! I bet there will be a point in the future where that's entirely possible! Hope everything goes well for you 💜

Messed up gut I mean
Thank you for this video. I need to do a test like this and go back to the doctor. I can't say thank you enough
I'm so glad it was helpful! I wish you the best of luck! :)
@@BalancingLaura thank you

How can you have a reaction to lettuce lol.

Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear that! I hate when they come on as an adult - it doesn't seem fair! That's good that you've figured this all out though
Same here! Food allergies came up as an adult but oddly my allergies to animals (cats, dogs, rabbits) seemed to subside as an adult.
Tomatoes might bother you because you Eat them with the skin on Try removing the skin from the tomato
Interesting!! I've actually never heard that before - I'm going to try that out and see if it makes a difference. Thanks so much!
I feel sick when I eat red apples but I can eat green apples….
The black pepper comment though..........😒

Does Everly test food for Chocolate sensitivities?
They test for Cocoa specifically - just double checked!
😱
A.k.a Laura Dripp🌹
Girl, these tests are so inaccurate. Shouldnt be advertising this to people. Credibility lost.
