- Meal plan for the week below ⬇️ Come shopping with us in NYC for our family of 13. We shop at Costco & Trader Joe's on Tuesday evening. (Our Costco is in Harlem and our Trader Joe's is on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.) We bring Anna (11), Chloe (9), Enoch (7), Melody (5), Moses (2), and Neta (4 months).
Here's our meal plan:
Wednesday: Pesto, Dinner: Salmon, Beets, Orzo, Arugula & Creme Fraiche
Thursday: Charcuterie Board, Dinner: Lentils, Rice & Satani Concombre
Friday: Pizza Bread, Dinner: Lamb Korma w/ Naan
Saturday: Sandwiches, Grapes, Juice & Chips, Dinner: Burritos
Sunday: Crockpot Chicken, Rice & Broccoli, Dinner: Nachos
Monday: Tuna Sandwich, Dinner: Pizza & Salad
Tuesday: Burritos, Dinner: Costco Food: Chicken, Caesar Salad & Pizza

Make sure when Naomi plants her garden that she puts the basil in a different spot than last year. It's good to rotate your plants each year

Hydrangeas are beautiful. They lose their leaves in winter but bloom beautifukky all summer and autumn. Then you can dry the blooms for decoration!

Mark gets the groceries, packs the groceries, unloads the groceries. He also does majority of cooking, looks after the youngest boy and works. Good on you Mark.
He's the definition of head of the household, he takes charge and leads by example! I really respect that.
And Amber birthed 11 kids, breastfed, homeschools, plans the meals, films, edits and uploads, answers comments, and a host of other things we don’t see. They both work hard!

Beet greens are really good
Also try also they have lots choose from if there out of at Trader Joe’s they have breads etc cheese
I make roasted beet tacos with goat cheese and sautéed onions. I also sauté the beet greens in there as well.

The abundance of lamb is also because we are celebrating our Greek Orthodox Easter this week. Sunday May 5th is our Easter.
It also includes anybody who is Ukranian, Russian and Greek Orthodox. Not to be confused with the Jewish Orthodox community who celebrate Passover.

You can make a vegetable stock with all the veggie remnants (carrot peels, beet greens, etc.).

Earlier today I was food shopping and some lady was moaning to herself in an isle saying how she really needs to learn to pack her trolley (cart) as she constantly squashes her bread and veggies.
I laughed with her and said. ‘If you need lessons in trolley stacking perfection then go and watch the Happy Caravans food shopping vlogs as Mark deserves his own channel just on this!’
We laughed together and she said she would check them out 😂😂

Green salsa is made out of Tomatillos . It's like a green tomato cover like a lantern. There baked and blended with fixings of yum. For your daughter on plants have her look into micro greens plants. I'm doing tomatoes and others they grow fast to harvest and stay small for liny yard's who want more on food's.
Amber and Naimi, the hydrangea can either be planted in a larger planter and placed indoors or they also do well outdoors. They will come back every season if you put them in the ground

Love the hydrangea flowers they are the best flowers, they last for years.The only thing with Hydrangea flowers they love the shade too much sunlight will kill them. We had ours for 5 years now.

Basil can't tolerate full Sun - needs some shade - and a lot of water - might help. Also, if you buy the plant from a grocery store - it won't continue to grow - unless I guess if you pull a stem and root it(?). I think they are forced plants - you could just try from seed (not sure if that is what you did). A plant from a nursery should also do well.
greek yogurt and or sour creme are perfectly good substitutions for creme fraiche

u can use full fat greek yougart as replacement for creme fresh or sour cream but sour cream will be a bit more tangy I found full fat greek yougart is closest

If you put basil outside recently it may have frostbite....In the Northeast technically no planting till Memorial day. I usually plant on Mother's day and just watch the weather. Cold weather plants can go in late March...like lettuce. Good luck!
I left a message a month ago or so when they began buying fresh herbs and flowers for the shed. I said may 15 here in NC. Plus those greenhouse plants from grocery stores have to be hardened off and I explained about that.

Kerry Gold butter from Ireland is grass fed 100% of the time and is much cheaper than Kirkland's grass fed butter (wich is grass fed about 80% of the time)

Soft Beet leaf buns. Ingredients
16 small or 18 large beet leaf buns rinsed and sliced in half along the centre stem, if large
1 cup warm milk
½ cup warm water
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp active dry yeast
3½ - 4 cups flour
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp sea salt
olive oil for greasing
Instructions
Start by washing the beet bun leaves thoroughly.
Place your beet leaves into a large bowl top with very hot water.
Let the beet leaves gently heat in the water for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the leaves from the hot water and let dry on a kitchen towel while you make your dough.
In a large bowl or stand mixer bowl, combine the warm milk, water, sugar and yeast. Whisk together and let sit for about 10 to 15 minutes or until the yeast mixture is bubbly and foamy.
Once the yeast mixture is looking noice and foamy, add the flour, melted butter and salt.
If you are using a stand mixer, affix the dough hook attachment and mix the dough on low speed until combined. If you are mixing the dough by hand, use a wooden spoon to mix until you reach a shaggy, mostly combined dough.
If you are using a stand mixer, up the speed a couple notches and knead the dough until it has mostly pulled away from the side of the bowl mostly and looks smooth, or about 5 minutes. If you are mixing the dough by hand, turn the dough onto the counter and knead until smooth, about 15 minutes.
If you are using a stand mixer, remove the dough hook and the dough from the bowl. Lightly oil the bowl and return the dough to the bowl. If you are mixing the dough by hand, lightly oil the bowl and return the dough to the bowl. Cover with a towel and let rise 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
Grease a baking tray with some olive oil and set aside.
Once your dough has risen, give it a punch and turn it out onto the counter.
Divide the dough into 16 pieces. Take once piece of dough and form it into a little log. Wrap a beet leaf around the dough. Place the bun onto the baking tray and repeat with remaining dough.
Place a towel over the tray of buns and let rest until doubled in size, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Bake the buns until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Let cool slightly but serve warm.
Yum!!!

Hello an ur boys look alike. An ur girls have such long beautiful hair ❤. An those beet greens u can fry them up in a pan or use in a salad but u have to cook the bitterness out of them a min or two with seasoning an butter. An kerigold butter is very yummy. So is their cheese . Do a butter taste test buy a pack of each. ❤ An buy some nice fresh bread an butter taste test. ❤🎉

Your average price is pretty close. I think the price of meat makes the difference and now 8 gallon of milk instead of 6. Have you ever thought of mixing half powder milk and part whole milk it is really good and has alot of vitmins and minerals in the powder. Just a thought we did it as a big family on a farm worked well
Yes! I think powdered milk is a good idea. My granny always put it in her coffee and said it was delicious!
Unsure if they do this or others in the comments or subscribers do this or not . But with celery I know people to dip it in peanut butter or put cream cheese and olives on it . For parties or just snack time .I my self don't do this
