(We shop on Tuesday evening in Manhattan, NYC)
Wednesday: Pesto Pasta, Dinner: Chile & Cornbread
Thursday: Hummus, Greek Salad & Pita Chips, Dinner: Lasagna & Salad
Friday: Tuscan Pane Pizza, Dinner: Salmon, Beets, Orzo Pasta, Arugula w/ creme fraiche & horseradish sauce
Saturday: Ham Sandwiches, chips, watermelon & juice, Dinner: Burritos
Sunday: Crock Pot Chicken Quinoa Caserole, Dinner: Nachos
Monday: Tuna Sandwiches w/ carrots, Dinner: Garbanzo Bean Soup & Bread
Tuesday: Pizza & Salad, Dinner: Beans & Mexican Rice & Shopping Snacks
See what it takes to feed our family of 12 for a week! We go to Trader Joe's and Costco in this video. We also bought some extra items at Lincoln Market. We bring 6 of our 10 kids: Naomi (14), Anna (11), Chloe (12), Enoch (7), Melody (4), and Moses (2).

Melody cracks me up - she is a sponge. She uses language appropriately beyond her age. She has emotional intelligence . Her bags her clothing she is so the product of older siblings and all that comes with that including confidence and resilience. Fabulous xx

Dad has a job and the kids buy their own things with their own money. Im sure they are able or they would not be living there.They also don't seem to eat a lot of meat which helps keep costs down.

I absolutely love watching how your kids share with each other and really show care and concern for one another! I wanted a big family, God had other plans and we had 2 girls,! I can't imagine all the cooking I would've loved all the laughter of those babies!

We’ll start seeing more and more empty grocery stores soon. I suggest you buy a few emergency food supply kits for uncertain times, if you don’t have them already… My Patriot Supply is a great place to start 😃

They have been saying that for 2 years and has never happened. Yes it is great to have emergency supply but scare tactics are not necessary.

Can you please do a video of how you do your meal planning, and how you make your shopping list, check inventory at home, etc? I think that would be so interesting. Probably a lot of work for you, though. xo
Haha yes! It’s boring to look through the cupboards and make sure there’s enough Oregano for the recipe 😅 but it’s the only way to keep from buying stuff you don’t need. I’ll make a video about how we pick the meals. It’s always morphing because the kids get tired of things sometimes but I guess meal planning like everything else is a journey 🙌🏼

Love all the Preciousness about your family!! The little one was so cute sleeping and love how his sister cuddled him and carried him around until he was awakse ...so precious for sure!! I just adore your family and the all for one and one for all that is there. It's fun watching you all shop and everyone get an input of what the especially wish to be included in the weeks yummy meal *3 a day* and the ummy snacks everything is healthy and filled with goodness and I like allot too how you check the ingredients and make sure it's healthy !! Sometimes parents call us give the cigarettes to their children
End of the day we look at the bills . & figure out who is buying every week lots of groceries . From there we give the discount to them

Moses is such a good little helper. I can’t wait to see the kids in their costumes. Melody was such a little chatter box. She is just so adorable. I believe that Marc’s favorite game is Tetris , because he just know how to make a whole lot of stuff into a little bitty space😂.

You have to be so organised to do all that shopping. I have enough of a challenge just shopping for me. You do a great job. I love the art work on your van, or whatever you call it.
In our area, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the best days to shop, as stores usually receive trucks those days
LOL, I know that cart in Trader Joes is probably driving Marc nuts. We all know how he likes his carts in order. Theirs Moses friend! I love watching your family, but I also love seeing the different places in NY. Thank you so much for taking all of us along with you when you go out and about.

When I was in high school I worked at a grocery store, and I always loved packing the bags because every one was like a puzzle ... like playing tetris. I always made it a challenge to see how much I could fit in one bag (when the customer said I could make the bag heavy). Thank you for another fun video to watch! 🙏❤
Yes! Marc definitely plays Tetris with the groceries! I think it’s a gift because otherwise things get so jumbled!

I get frustrated when I put all like items on the conveyor belt starting with heavy items and ending with fruit, vege and bread and the cashier mixes it all up putting grapes in with canned items.
@@amyrivers4093 I know exactly what you mean ... just happened to me today. Put some muffins under canned stuff and the bag of peaches, and by the time I got home they were crumbly.
@melissawingfield8666 how frustrating especially with the price of food these days. Like yourself I worked at a supermarket after school and on the weekend as soon as I turned 15 which was the legal working age here in New Zealand. That was 30 years ago (saying that makes me feel old) and we would pack back into the trolley or a box. I made a game of putting things in the right spot so every item was still in the same good condition. I find myself having a place for everything in the trolley when I walk around the supermarket too. I guess watching my Mum doing grocery shopping sunk in. She was also amazing at fitting things in cupboards, suitcases etc as well. 😊

Your girls are so pretty and I think it's wonderful their hair is so long and beautiful. I wanted my daughter to let her hair grow she had beautiful hair but she got it cut. Your girls look just like you and they are so sweet and polite. You have a very beautiful family.

How do you make, or a list of ingredients for your Mexican rice? Yes yes yes, a date to the last grocery, I like it. Mo on the floor investigating the Avocados. He already has learned what they are and he likes them, yes?
Yes! Mo loves avocados! I think there is cumin, garlic, chicken broth and tomato sauce in the Mexican rice. It’s also called Spanish rice and she found the recipe online. But I love that even brown rice works!

Because we have to go after Marc gets off from work. I can drive (but I’m still trying to get my NY license.) But the parking in this city with the big van would be really hard for me. I’d probably bang up the car.😬 So Marc is super helpful because he is excellent at parking.
Trader Joe’s is a mess in the middle of the day. You can’t walk through the store. Have to stop every 5 seconds bc there’s so many people 😂 makes sense why they avoid those times as well.

Do you make up a chore chart for the kids to help around the house? I did that when my kids were young and they actually enjoyed helping, at the end of the week they got a new toy. Wouldnt be expensive, but they were excited to go get it!!!
We’ve tried a few things in the past but we haven’t gotten a chore chart to stick. It’s still something I want to work on!
Ya thats true, I did have problems sticking to it! Then when they got older to many activitys going on!!

Yes! Smoothies are a great way to get the “5 a day” of fruits and vegetables that doctors recommend. I have a hard time otherwise!
How do you afford to feed all those children, i need some recipes LMBO 🤣. I can't even afford to feed myself right now. Let me rephrase that my fridge broke and have been living out of a cooler, and I'm running out of inexpensive recipes without a fridge. And I struggle looking up recipes bc it's really overwhelming.
Yes! We eat a lot of bean soups partially for the cost and partially because we can just put beans on the shelf Instead of the fridge.

Not all of America is as expensive as New York. Plus they buy a huge amount of snacks and processed food so that costs a lot.

Do you soak your Brazil nuts, or do you eat them right out of the bag? I eat 3 daily out of the bag for selenium, however, I've heard you're supposed to soak them for proper absorption.
My son is a dentist and he said that soda is the absolute worst thing for developing teeth. They shouldn’t drink it unless they brush their teeth afterwards.
Yes! They only drink it once a week! I’d would have them drink it zero times a week hones but I try to have some balance.

Just for upstairs during the evening or for when we leave the house. We only buy a few bottles.

Because we homeschool during the day and Marc works. We may get a Trader Joe’s store close to us so I may be able to walk over quickly mid day!
