- Weekly grocery haul for our family of 12. Here is our meal plan for the week:
Monday: Tuna Sandwiches, Dinner: Garbanzo bean soup and baguette
Tuesday: Bean burritos, Dinner: Hamburgers and potato chips
Wednesday: Pesto pasta Dinner: Chicken Soup, salad, bread
Thursday: Dahl Paratha, (Indian lentil dish) Dinner: Tostadas with beans
Friday: Bean Burritos, Dinner: Chicken, peas, rice, salad
Saturday: Bagels with salmon, cream cheese and dill Dinner: 2 chickens with roast vegetables and salad and bread
Sunday: Bean burritos, Diner: Nachos with beans, meat, lettuce and tomato
See what it takes to feed our family of 12 for a week! We go to Trader Joe's, Costco, and Target in this video. We also bought some beans and baking items at shop fair and we also bought chicken and kombucha at whole foods. (The chicken pieces at whole foods seems to be better quality.) We bring 2 of our 10 kids: Elijah (age 16) and Moses (age 1)

I’m #9 of 10 kids, in my early 50’s. This brought back a lot of memories. We would often fill 3~>4 carts depending on the season. Our house was 6,500+ sqft w/a large finished basement. We had 2 fridges, 2 deep freezers. Our milk was like the milk dispensers in restaurants. Self contained, refrigerated, delivered, I think either 5 or 10 gal in a heavy plastic bag in a box. Just pull the hose through the hole & cut it off. Lift the 39:50 weighted handle to dispense. My Father said easiest way to keep enough milk in the house 39:50 for all us kids.

Elijah did great with the baby ‘ I know he is a big help . I live in a small city In NC and I honestly would have a panic attack in New York lol so many people and I thought I had it bad walking across the parking lot to get groceries . Never saw a parking deck for Costco . Awesome video and your family is awesome .

But oh do be cautious about seeing money on the ground or anything struck on your vehicle. Don’t touch it. Don’t let the kids pick up anything especially money. I don’t know why they do it but I heard they laving money and paper or napkins etc with fentanyl and people pick it up and die. It’s barbaric. But not to live in fear but good to be aware, especially in NYC.
Trader Joe's looks like a fun shop. I've never heard of some of the stuff. For some reason I like watching shopping hauls from other countries 🙈I really enjoyed this.

As someone who was born and raised in a town of 5000 people New York City terrifies me. I couldn’t do it. There’s more than double the amount of people living in that city than in my entire state. That is wild!

Suggestions: Store school supplies in other rooms or closets. Stock all of your cabinets with dry goods like beans, rice, can goods, pasta, etc., You could use a freezer & 2nd fridge.

As a New Yorker, I do delivery shopping but you still must be particular with the choice of stores. Haha yes! The parking is the tricky part! We got our jackets from Uniqlo. They fold up really small and fit in your backpack. They are warm without being bulky, which is really nice for traveling.❤️

Aw thank you! Yes, prices have been higher. And we do really notice it as a big family. We eat a number of bean dishes to help a bit so some weeks are cheaper thankfully! I love to see the kids enjoy Christmas so much too. It helps me enjoy it more myself! 🎄❤️

Sarah with Our Tribe of Many here on YT is another large family (with 12 kids, I believe!) and she shares her totals and monthly budgeting. She’s very talented at feeding her family healthy food within budget.
Have you thought of reaching out to Berkey Water Filter. Your family could probably save a lot of money in the long run by filtering your own water. My husband and I and my daughter, and her family use Berkeys. Just a suggestion.

Hi Guys! I’m a new viewer to your channel and I’m enjoying your hauls. Prices in New York for groceries and markedly cheaper than here where I live. Green bell peppers are $3.99/lb and the colored ones are $4.99-6.99/lb😳 I’m so jealous!
And we DONT have a Trader Joe’s. Also Costco is on the other side of the island so we need to plan a day trip to make it worthwhile.

Yes! Pretty similar to SF but it was easier to find a parking spot in SF, so that’s the biggest difference.

Just curious, why wouldnt you guys buy your eggs, bagels, produce at Costco where you get more and its cheaper than TJs?
We usually get eggs at Costco, but sometimes produce is cheaper at Trader Joe’s. Also I am a big fan of unbleached flour and it’s hard to find unbleached flour at Costco.
Cosco sells a collapsible crate for like $8 you could keep in the back of van for shopping trips they actually filled mine when I got mine and put my groceries in it! I feel for you having to park so far away just to get groceries our cosco is always so packed here in Myrtle beach SC I dread going the parking is free if you can find a spot lol how do you make it out of there with out extra stuff ugh we always have jumpers by jumpers I mean stuff jumps off the shelves into the cart 😂❤ thank you for sharing

Maybe in some cities the local grocery store is less expensive but here the prices are almost identical.

I’m a content creator, my husband used to be a graphic designer but automation and AI have made his skill set less valuable so he is pivoting to fire safety design.
I wondered this too because they pay around $9000 monthly rent, Trader Joes and Costco is around $1000 a week thats $13,000 monthly without Utilites, whatever the children need, gas, registration and car insurance etc and if hubby is not working how do they manage. Mum is a content creator but wouldn’t cover all that surely? I heard they rely on savings but at the rate they spend savings wont last forever. Dad seems to get what he wants when shopping and looks fairly healthy but feel the children look pale and a little anaemic

I’ve been watching you for a few months now. (Recent and past videos) and I’m confused as to how you’re able to pay rent, gas for car, parking, Trader Joe’s and Costco weekly when you’ve indicated a few times that neither of you are working. I realize you sold your house in California, but rent in NYC can’t be cheap. (And it also sounds as if you’re paying for music lessons for children as well.).🤷♀️🙂. (Also hospital and doctor visits for your 11th child 🙂)
