- David brings Stevie to the house that Patrick wanted to buy.
About Schitt’s Creek:
When wealthy video store magnate Johnny Rose (Eugene Levy), his soap-star wife Moira (Catherine O'Hara) and their two twentysomething children--hipster gallerist David (Daniel Levy) and career socialite Alexis (Annie Murphy)--suddenly find themselves broke, they have no choice but to move to a backwoods town Johnny once bought as a joke. With their pampered lives a memory, they must face their humiliating hardship and figure out what it means to be a family, all within the unfamiliar environs of Schitt's Creek, their new home.

I cried when he revealed he wants to move to NYC to prove he’s not a joke. Finally we get to see the feelings of pain and rejection behind the cynical and sarcastic bravado.
Image holds a lot of people back
Every selfmade misfit has been thru this pain.
Damn poor David I knew he was brewing and I know Moira even jokes he’s catty because it’s a defense mechanism from bullying 😂😂😂😂😂 but here damn 😢 Poot David he went through so much!!! You won David those losers do not deserve to see you!!!!! New York sucks and doesn’t need you!! It’s a cesspool!!
I get it too. Being a joke isn't easy. It hurts a bit. I would know. Lol
"And on a personal note, I don't want you to leave me here, okay?"
Well that line broke me :'(
And Dans gasping sobs.... like, so realistic. Some crying scenes are "pretty" and not raw. He really went for it with the gasps. Crying isnt pretty. Its raw and real and should be like that on the screen
I was already crying when she revealed to him how loyal his "friends" were. I lost it when she asked him not to leave her here.
:’(
That line was essentially the culmination of their entire friendship arc, and also the ultimate proof that David had “won.” David and Stevie were not only best friends, but they were each other’s first experiences of having one. David had “won” because having had so many one-sided friendships with people who didn’t care one jot about him, he had finally found someone who genuinely needed him just as much as he needed them.
@Wattywatasaurus It was a beautiful ending because David not only fell in love, but he also had a true, best friend.
Deciding to stay in Schitt's Creek where he had built a life, or going to New York might've seemed like an easy choice to us. But to David, letting go of New York, was letting go of who he used to be.
😭 10/10 🌟
Don't you just love David and Stevie and their weird relationship?
I don't think they have a weird relationship at all. They are two people that say what's exactly on their mind. They are two people that will probably always be there for each other also. Honestly #friendship goals for me here.
I am loving how quick they got to bond. They act like they’ve been best friends for forever even though it’s been way less than that
@@Awestruckhero21 I think it’s lovely……and they are an odd couple…..but beautiful together.
I don't think their relationship is "weird" as much as it is that they have a relationship that nobody but the two of them understands.
Their relationship and his and Patrick's are serious life goals. They really did nail perfectly nice relationships in this show.
the 2 dislikes are david’s friends from new york
The 3rd is Patrick’s female ex-fiancé.
The 4th is Sebastien Raine
@@Neellohit lmao yesss
The 5th was Moira because she isn’t in this scene
The sixth was Ken.
“Good people. Good people do things like that.”
0:33 The way Stevie's expression changed when she realized that it wasn't banter anymore and David was actually having an intense moment. Brilliant acting by both in this scene.
she does a double take...damn i never noticed that
Saw it too love Stevie she rocks!!
David, you won! This is my favorite scene of the entire series.
I love how there's this serious moment and then immediately "did you put on deodorant today?" 🤣🤣🤣
I think we all needed that moment, and the writers knew it 😊
🤣🤣🤣🤣
This show is just amazing. Watching these characters grow from spoiled asses to genuine people. An amazing journey.
And what's more learning that alot of the spoiled pretentiousness is just a facade to hide deep, real pain that the characters don't want to deal with, David in particular
@@joshuadeishuffman9502 I agree. The way they talk of their past. Always separate and alone. They come together and it's awesome.
Dan Levy is such a good actor. Those tears were clearly very genuine. I cant watch this scene without sobbing. I think this is my favourite scene in the whole show as it really shows David vulnerable and shows off Emily and Dans good acting chops. I hope to see them in more things
Dude that wasn’t even Dan Levy right there that was truly David Rose
Agreed. I personally think this is the scene that won him his Emmy. Truly amazing scene. David faced a crossroads moment that involved his husband and his best friend. Dan portrayed that self-reflection moment with such depth and authenticity. Those quiet tears were perfect.
"Who does that?"
A man head over heels in love David!
That moment when David is contemplating about what Patrick did hits me so hard, the way he says, "Just because I.. I said it was nice". Breaks my heart. When you truly find that one person who loves you with everything in their heart, sometimes their kindness and love towards you is staggering
"Because I want those people to know that I'm not a joke... and that I've won."
My favorite line in this scene and maybe from the whole series. Such a relatable moment right there imo.
My reaction watching this scene the first time.
"David looks like he's about to cry... oh, there we go"
The best scene of the show and let me tell you why.
This involves love from Patrick and love from Stevie. David did win. He now has both great, sincere, loyal relationship and friendship. Nothing can beat those two besides family love, which David also has. 😭
THIS comment made me teary-eyed. Thank you. 🥲
made me teary-eyed too!
Favorite scene and episode of Season 6 for me.
“David, look at this place. You’ve won!” Thank you, Schitt’s Creek, for clearing out my tear ducts… again.
This is one of those moments I empathized with David's character even more-and why he became one of my favorite characters on this show (other than Alexis hehe).
The fact that David is acclimated to that type of rejection and nastiness from others (people "dropping like flies" when he "couldn't pick up the tab at the Waverly", Sebastien Raine, his "friends" who went to a music festival instead of David's wedding) really showed me how emotionally broken he was-whether if it was making friends or having a loving relationship.
Because he was so emotionally broken, I could see why Moira "protected" him more than Alexis. He's her firstborn, was bullied in school (likely due to his sexuality and maybe even his sense of fashion/style), AND he went through a string of heartbreak and lack of real friends surrounding him.
I just really love the fact that Stevie-another person who seems to have had a string of bad luck with life and likely people-connected SO WELL with David from season 1. In her sardonic way, Stevie knew that David was stuck in a situation that he couldn't get out of. Being that she herself was also stuck in a situation that she never thought she could get out of, she shows David, overtime, that there is always a silver lining in everything. Even awkward moments.
From their first interaction of David asking for a towel, to Stevie bringing that moment back full circle with embroidered towels for him and Patricks' wedding (this may have been a sign of foreshadowing in regards to this scene, or Patrick may have even told Stevie about this house-but those are just my hunches), I really appreciate this show for showing that good folks (Patricks AND Stevies!) do exist and relationships can flourish-even in the most unexpected situations.
Wow. So well said. ❤️
Well said!!
Such an incredible show. So much love and laughter and heart went into this masterpiece.
I agree !
@@jillygirl2024 kkkkkkkuk
Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.
That "join the club" where David's eyes really tear up and Stevie sees there's more going on than she realized... all that range from those two in a span of about five seconds.
when stevie's voice cracks when she tells david that his "friends" aren't coming to the wedding.... that's when my tears start. every single time.
and it's just as heartbreaking to see david's expression. he isn't surprised at all. :(
Probably my favorite scene from the whole show
Came here to say exactly this. It’s so special.
This, then the bike, then the family dance scene in the barn
@@mattychristian the bike scene is def top 3
And Patrick singing at opening night..and Moira showing up with the jazzagalls to Alexis's graduation and Johnny sticking up for Roland
.the wedding of course..that car getting run over..either way..great progress for be be
What I love about this scene so much is that it ties into how David felt since Season 1, when he couldn't find anyone to move in with him the first go they had with leaving SC, and all the references he's made along the way about feeling lonely. Now he's sitting at the summit of a mountain and he's staring at his future in the face. A lovely full circle moment for him! Love it!
Now I’m crying, love and miss this show more than anything 😭
Just watch it again on Netflix. I am rewatching it now
The way I was bawling until David said “Did you put on deodorant today?” that got me snort laughing with tears wtf HAHAHA the comedic timing is golden in this show
I was so touched by this seen. Makes me cry his money is what gave him friends when he was rich. This is so true how people uses us. This family grew together, closer and was so much happier when they got poor. It’s so true money don’t make you happy ❤️
The show does a great job of showing that money doesn't make you happy, but being able to keep the lights on is essential.
We finally get to see the real David under his snarky bravado, the pain over the rejection by those who he wants in his life, his sense that he has to prove that he's not a joke... I can relate so much to that. I have wanted so badly to convince myself as well as others that I'm good enough.
And his friendship with Stevie, she is spot-on in her insight. David has not met enough good people, and that Stevie has stayed right by him is proof that she cares where his rich "friends" could hardly care less about his feelings. And I totally relate to "And on a personal note, I don't want you to leave me here!"
“Did you put on deodorant today?” Just perfect comic relief right there.
Just look at the emotions on Davids face. Priceless
I tear up, every time he does. Beautiful.
Im hoping we see more of him in things. Hes really talented.
When I noticed David's eyes full of tears, it really hurt. I knew then he is never leaving Schitt's Creek.❤
Yep! No way he would leave his man nor his best friend. He's has his business and life there. He's laid some roots!!!! ❤
He does still own it too.
Dad bought it for him as a joke.
When I’m having the worst day I just watch this show an completely forget why I was upset 🙏💆🏻♀️🤙🏼 absolutely love the entire cast!!!!!
Im the same. Its my go to comfort place!
Same for me. It brings me to my happy place.
Yes!
Schitt's Creek is the cure for depression.
____
Me? Crying at 8 AM watching this while eating my breakfast? It's more likely than you think
I want a friendship like David and Stevie :)
I love this scene because for the most part, it was a long take, so you really got to see the interaction between the two characters like you would when watching a play.
“I’m not a joke….and that I’ve won”. Great line
Such a sad and beautiful scene with the “did you put on deodorant?” kicker as the icing on the cake. Love this show.
I was not expecting this emotional gut punch of an episode.
No one can build a touching moment and then ruin it like the Rose family.
Stevie is the best kind of friend anybody could ask for.
To the five people who gave this a thumbs down: forgive me, but you have lost your soul.
Nah! They just thought an Electric music concert in Norway took priority.
It's a serious and touching scene, so "Good people do things like that. Hence the reason why we don't understand it." had me cackling like a maniac 🤣
A beautiful scene that was well-acted and written. Poignant, sentimental and just a right tough of humor at the end. Also, the reference to the cottage in The Holiday was brilliant as I love that cottage myself. The difference is that cottage was fake as they built the exterior just for the movie. In Schitt's Creek, they managed to find a real-life version of it. That is incredible.
The first time I saw this scene I knew it was gonna be emotional but boy I didn’t know it was gonna get me as bad as it did. Damn this show
It really was a conversation of the heart, between best friends, until the deodorant question.😅🤣🤣 that one sealed the deal- they truly are best friends🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Think this is the first time I've ever cried at a sitcom. Man.
It was at this moment in the 25 minute finale that I was crying for the 55th time, Daniel you are no joke, you and the cast created a one of a kind masterpiece
Just imagine Patrick just knocking on their door and asking them to call him if they ever consider selling 😭
One of the most beautiful moments in the show - and there's a lot to choose from!
My absolute favourite scene of the whole series. It’s a masterpiece, the acting is brilliant, Stevie’s double take when she see’s David is emotional, his “who does that?” line breaks me every time. Then the way the scene end brilliantly and the mood is lightened with the comedic “did you put on deodorant?” Absolutely perfect! Whoever wrote that scene deserves an award!
One of my favorite scenes in the series. Says so much about the essence of love and being human. ❤
I recently went back somewhere that was toxic. After leaving this scene hits so hard to home.
"I dont want you to leave me here" i ball my eyes out, 5 seconds later cant stop laughing at the deodorant remark 😂👑
Perfectly written to be balanced. Im obsessed.
I just finished this show an hour ago (powered through the last four episodes on a cozy Sunday afternoon) and I had to rewatch this scene bc it made me cry my eyes out.
I relate to David on many levels, and I've been through a lot of heartbreak, but like him, I've also had exceedingly kind people in my life do things for me out of sheer goodness, and it never fails to blow me away. It inspires me to be just as kind.
I also feel like I want to prove that I am not a joke, that I'm not my mother's daughter (not David-related but still) and that I also won and am standing on my own two feet all on my own. And I wouldn't have been able to get here without having an incredible support system in my life that I wouldn't trade for anything.
So we did it, David. We won. And we deserve it.
Such a well acted scene between the two. You can feel their emotions.
I wonder which scenes Dan submitted on behalf of himself to earn the Emmy, I'm sure this was a part of the reel.
This is why he won an Emmy - for acting and writing. And why his mother wrote that awesome tweet when it was announced he was hosting SNL!
Best scene in the entire show
"It's the farm!"
"Alright, relax!"
One of my favorite scenes. Brilliantly written and acted. I like their relationship as much as I like David & Patrick together.
if this scene didn't get you get in all the feels and shed some tears, then I don't know what
I was so sad when this show ended! I just wanted it to keep going.
When this aired I felt like this was the NY conversation I had waited 6 years for David to have! Such a pivotal scene!
Thank hell Stevie said what she said to David. There’s a lot of friends, and even best friends, that never say things like that. Don’t be afraid to speak up. Even if they think you’re wrong, or you turn out to be, disagreeing is normal and healthy 🤘
I got misty-eyed thinking of this scene earlier today - such a great moment in their friendship.
This was one of the most touching moments in the show 🥺
I love this show so much. I just keep rewatching the entire series over and over. X
I want a friendship like these 2 have
Such a good scene from one of the best shows ever
This show was just the best and one of the rare shows that had moments like this that would have me tearing up(which is rare enough) and then laughing immediately after. Truly the best
I absolutely love this scene
This was the icing on the cake. So well written.
crying here. so much love ... and then.. the deororant question hahahahahahahahhaahhhah
David HAD to buy this house for Patrick. Patrick always seemed like the one who gave up and did everything for David, and David needed to give up New York for Patrick....at least in the beginning of their marriage.....they can move to New York in the spinoff where Alexis and Ted get married....no idea on what happens to Stevie...
this is the friendship I want but do not deserve..
Love this scene 😍 ❤️
It's SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST A SITCOM. Very special
If you have an emotional bone in your body you will tear up on this
I burst into tears the first time I saw this
This scene makes me crryyyyyy
I love this I was laughing though my tears. Also after watching an interview with Daniel and Noah I heard David snort. He doesn't cry outward he takes it all in and then snorts.
This was an amazing show. I'm rewatching it right now.
DAMMIT I'M WHY AM I CRYING AGAIN😭😭😭😭
I BAWLED
The amount of tears I've shed watching this scene 😭
This show broke me and I am living for it
Did you put on deodorant today?
Words to live by
Ew
You can really see he felt it and he said “ I wanna know that I’ve won”
I don’t think anyone including myself watching this scene we’re going to be one of the most important and emotional scenes in the whole series
Even when Steveie said “I need u here” that was so emotional
Great show!
This had me sobbing.
i love that phrase “bec i want those people to know that im not a joke .. and that i’ve won. “sometimes in life you dont want other people to judge you and think you are a failure and stand up and say you win big time its not about success in life
One of my top 3 favorite scenes
The deodorant comment just broke me up couldn't stop laughing
Love these 2
Who gave this a thumbs-down? I hope that you're never in my life. This is the most well-acted & emotional scene in the entire show.
I ❤ love their friendship!! They really care about each other. ❤❤
Stevie is the kind of friend I want to have someday.
i have never cried and laughed so much bc of one show. I love this show so much and their friendship is so beautiful 🥺😭❤️
I can't believe how incredible the writing is. From what seemed to me like just an average sitcom on the first episode to how much different and really heart touching it became by the final season, its unbelievable.
Even though I didnt like Stevie's character much initially, but the final two seasons elevated her role just like others.
One of the many perfect scenes in this wonderful series
Such a great show. Wonderful actors🤩
A masterpiece of character development and supreme acting chops. On par with any interaction ever filmed.
one of my favourite moments in the entire show
