I've honestly thought this song was super underrated since it came out. It was his biggest moment of personal growth that public got to witness.
Eminem released this song right before Mothers day. And he does not perform Cleaning out my closet at any of his shows anymore. Since Em got clean off drugs alot of his songs are him making amends to the people he hurt during his addiction. Kim - Bad Husband, Hailey - Castle. It sucks that people didn't like Revival because he put his heart into that album.

Cookie Monster Revival is overall his strongest album, it’s a concept album, a crosscut trough his whole career, he gives us Marshall, Eminem and Slim (if you listen to the first three songs you here them in this order), it was released December 2017 10 years after he overdosed and the on arose, the last song on this album ends with his...revival! This album takes time but it’s worth it, it’s a masterpiece! Don’t focus on the beats, focus on the words!
Now if only Aunt Edna would get a song. She was Eminems early childhood Rock when his mom wasnt around in St Joe. She passed in 2004 but i go visit her grave every now and then. I used too walk by her house as a kid and always chat with her. She was a Amazing Lady.

I can't get through Headlights without crying. I don't know how he recorded it. Bad Husband and Castle and Arose are just as powerful. I really love Raw Thoughts 2. It played randomly after Untouchable by Em in my Spotify the other day and I was hooked.
Castle and Arose!! Its his story telling at its best in my opinion. Very deep and emotional songs.

Headlights is 1 of my favourite tunes of all time , i can relate to alot of it , i went through addiction for 10 years and put my family through alot of shit and hurt my mum most , like em says about his mum , my mum was both my mum and dad and i can not say sorry enough for all my bad deeds i have done ! 15yrs my dad and I were estranged. It crushed me but every time I let him in he hurt me again, so it went 15yrs. Almost 3yrs now dad and I have been father and daughter again. He said sorry for everything first time I've ever heard that come out his mouth. We're close now but I manage that better as an adult and realized I can have a relationship with him as long as I remember who I'm dealing with. Crazy part is dad left when I was 2 and mom and an alcoholic stepdad verbally and physically abused me growing up till I ran away at 16. Mom and I have been best friends now for 28yrs❤ This song is crushing! And EM is a recovering broken man!

This is why I’m an Em. He takes us full circle and fans feel so close to him because we all watched his growing pains and anger. His self-awareness is on such a high level. That’s why he is so good at these types of songs. They come from the heart after a lot of painful growth. If you haven’t reacted to Bad Guy you should. If you think this song was powerful, the very last part of Bad Guy when the voice switches is the most introspective, self-aware Em I have ever heard. It will blow your mind. I also think you should do the song Lighters he did with Royce.

I heard this song on the radio and I just cried because he was apologizing to his Mom after all these years. She had Munchausen Syndrome and it's a mental illness where a Mom poisons their kids it was Nate she did that to, they make their kids sick to create sympathy and attention to her. She gave him all types of poisons for years and he found out and Nate was taken away and Marshall gained custody and raised him himself. I love the fact that he was able to say he's sorry in this song, I would have a hard time doing that. I had a Mom who raised 7 of us all alone and there were times she had a bad time and she was verbally abusive but not much physically. We kept her and took care of her till she passed away. I am glad that Marshall did this because it's important to talk and reconcile things from the past if you can before they die.

It got/gets overlooked because it's not what "they" feel is Em's M.O. What I mean by that is we're meant to believe a certain narrative as far as his behavior goes. He's known as "a pistol packing drug addict that bags on his mama", literally right? We're not supposed to see the growth and maturity of Marshall, the man...that's not marketable. What sold millions upon millions of records was that "violent" self loathing Slim Shady. The beautiful thing here though, is that fact that Em has a true fanbase, who loves and supports whatever he chooses to give to us.
