So funny that a dev came out and said we’d never get a server browser and basically to quit our bitching. Now it’s shown to hurt the game/community majorly. Thanks DICE
The persistent servers create problems with the battle pass and the UI. With a server browser, it wouldn’t kick you out to show you all the bells and whistles you just unlocked, or you wouldn’t be able to check out the store. It’s kind of disgusting.
Shame that they don’t care. You’ve purchased the game and possibly more through micro transactions and that’s all they care about. Rinse and repeat baby.
In the future, server browser, community servers, and keeping servers together between games are what I’m looking for most in the next battlefield, without these, I’ll go elsewhere, tired of ignorant devs
better destruction, better movement, actually real classes (not this operator BS that is now. yeah i know they brought it back, not really. they just divided operators in groups and thats it.)

Ironic it's called Battlefield when the environments are literally non-destructible. Biggest L of 2042 imo. Really hoping they go back to this in future titles!

They added during-round and end-of-round skôrbôrd separately, NOT back-to-back AND asked for help from the community.
It is hard to believe how much the franchise has declined since the bf3/4 days. Terrible map design, removal of server browser, removal of classes, fewer guns, fewer gadgets, no scoreboard (initially), less destruction, and a whole host of other game features within the gameplay itself. Battlefield seems to be tending towards what I like to call a “minimum viable product” they can sell us. It has t gone well for them. Incompetence and greed have resulted in the sunset of the series, loss of popularity and garnishment of their name. They can’t be happy with that.

@@LostSpaceGuy i know bf1 has fans but honestly that game was already a decline in comparison to bf4. Bf4 was an absolute godlike BF-Experience. BF1 with the OP-Horses, old school weapons, no attack helis and so on already removed to many BF Mainstays.

The only battlefield trailer that has the highest likes out of all trailers that was released before and after was Battlefield 1 Reveal Trailer. It has 2.4 million likes and couple thousand of dislikes.
Battlefield 4 feels like a arcade while Battlefield 1 has a dark atmosphere that makes the players be fully immersed in.
If anything, the battlefield franchise was at its peak when BF1 was released. After that, the decline began again.
I just got BF 2042 about 3-4 weeks ago. It was on the PS store for $13 on sale.
I am NOT a pro but just a basic gamer. And honestly, might of been the best $13 on a game I’ve spent in a long time.
I used to play BF4 day in and day out- and I was really good. BF2042 is by no means BF4 and it’s going to be hard to ever beat that.
But for what I spent on it, and being on after a lot of “bug fixes”, Ive enjoyed it and progressing through the game. I sure miss the story mode and still haven’t figured out how to use a mic with team mates. But man, I’ve had fun and hollered at the TV from time to time. Ha ha ha.
Hoping the next BF game is more like BF4 was as those maps, content and gameplay were really unmatched. Hopefully my level 24 guy will see you in a match! Good gaming!
Server browser is a big problem for me. I want to play maps that I choose and stick with the same players in a server to get some nemesis kills

I uninstalled the game a few months ago with sporadic playtime over the past year just to see if it improved to previous BF title standard. And it did not.

I used to redownload the game every now and then with new content, play for a week or 2 but ultimately the game experience was just filled with too many sigh moments and Id choose BF1 after a short time. I havent had the game on my PS5 for quite a while now, maybe 7/8 months. The amount of DLC released is just too low and not good enough imo. Remember the BF1 Russian DLC, it came with six maps, weapons, vehicles etc. What is the 2042 DLC map count now?

idk if it's a bug, but there's seemingly a lack of breakthrough games in EU, even when there should be peak players online (20:00 / 8 PM). when i try to "play" (rather: endure) the game it mostly only queues me into one server with actual players. and if that server runs for example manifest, it leads to me having to sit in the main menu for 10+ minutes aborting the queue 50+ times. and if it ever does find anything else, it's full of AI and it only fills up very slowly, if even.
My main problem with this game is that DICE, for some weird reason, reintroduced many bugs and problems that were fixed in previous games. Its so weird to see same problems that plagued bf4 on launch once again. Especially hit detection. Sometimes its even worse than it was in bf3/bc2
The tanks on 2042 are so weird at turning some times
Yeah, they accelerate quickly, but turn like a brick in mud.
They improved hit detection? Run the Network Monitor in Options and you will see that it sucks using DICE's own tool. There are times where 15-20% of your client hits are not registered on the server. Low tick servers tend to disrupt TTK. High fire rate weapons have their rounds delivered as packets that feel like being one shot and how many time have you been hit behind cover or gotten that delayed kill when you thought your target had ducked behind cover? It is incredibly frustrating.
I completely agree with your point concerning the attack helicopters and tanks not having that "it" factor. I used to love tanks and now barely play them.
Ive always played tanker in Battlefield. But man these tanks are pretty rough. I can hold it down in them and put up some good numbers 60-70 kills but in like bf4 i use put up like 100+.
Rush used to have a persistent lobby and would just cycle through all of the maps in order. They killed that and added vehicles to 2042 maps that never had them before such as exposure and stranded and ruined the experience for those maps. It honestly befuddles me.
Stranded and Exposure always had vehicles in Conquest and Breakthrough (Stranded excepted for the latter), though I'm not sure if they did in Rush.
They should have let the same team who made BF4 make BF2042, actually the game is good but they ran to launch it and it killed it. It miss stuff that were available in BF4 and actualky the fact that they made it no story mode, with all the bug it had, and the price , killed the game potential. Actually i do love it morr than BF4 cuz i do see the potential in it and hope the next one will be a mix of both
If the game is discounted then it’s worth purchasing, as long as people have a realistic expectation that 2042 doesn’t come anywhere close to the previous titles then they should have a couple of weeks of fun. No doubt we will see a spike in season 7 but the question is for how long will that spike last?
I advise waiting for discounts for every AAA game. I’ve seen it take 1 day ( Evolve ) , 2 weeks ( Battlefield ) … their execs make 10s of millions per year. They can afford our waiting.

I used to play controller as I had an Xbox series x. Aim assist was seriously inconsistent in the past. Join the pc master race about a year ago and slowly transitioned to mouse/keyboard.
When this game launched there was literally no aim assist at all. Nowadays it works 95% of the time. But that 5% will fuck with you really hard when it happens

I’m not saying they need to curse at dice. But they are WAY too nonchalant and accepting of Dice repeated fuck ups with my fav fps franchise. Felt fake
@chacachaca11 I did the same tbh, but kept LC as ge covers various games GGG is also a good guy to follow and Enders just tells it like it is.
The only redeeming quality is that you can change your load out on your primary and secondary weapon without having to redeploy and go into menu.

I have a 3kd on controller and aim assist is still inconsistent. Sometimes it feels like im fight aim assit to track players strafing
I haven't played in two months and I don't think I'll be back. I've had my fill.
I bought the 100$ package when it came out all excited and such ..... as it was installing/downloading, I went to watch Shroud playing it. He was literally belly flopping off of building sin his jet. I played for about 2 hours after it finished installing, and uninstalled. Never looked back.
This game actually broke the entire genre for me. I won't be buying anymore BF or CoD because of the last 2 that were produced were so UNFUN to play ....
So basically, low content being pushed, M&K + Controller input is not very good, removes core modes from the game in weeks at a time, no browsers, poor control over which map you will play and tedious queuing system. Feels like a lot of downsides. Now I purchased it from launch but uninstalled asap, was in lobby a bit too long so I couldn't refund it per their policy of game time spent... Is it worth the massive space it will take to re-install and try it out? Not sure. Thoughts?

That new infantry map blows and that comes from a dude that has tens of thousands of infantry kills and maybe 15 vehicle kills
I'd say the game is good for new players with one caveat - Cross play. I have some nooby console friends who really don't enjoy it when cross play is enabled, but it's often hard to find games when disabled. Cross play off is a much more noob friendly environment.
It's funny to me how protected of a class console players are. They have literally no reason to complain about crossplay. AA in this game is absurdly strong (not cod or apex levels, but it is not that far off), and 25% reduced recoil and bullet magnetism make playing with controller braindead easy. Yet they like to pretend like playing against pc is problematic. It's cringe.

@@brodofraggins sorry, but it’s a fact that it’s more difficult. Eg console only KDR is maybe 2.5 when crossplay on KDR is 1.5. For decent players that’s no issue, but for new players you just die a lot more.
@lando_uk please show ANY evidence to back up your claim. People like to pretend that ALL pc players have the aim of a top .01% player they saw a clip of once. The skill floor for controller is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than pc bc the game does so much of thy leg work for you. Average mnk players are worse than average controller players bc of AA alone. There are also more console players than pc as well, so the few pc players you come across aren't making your kd worse, lmao.
The biggest reason for me not continuing to play is the TTK is way to fast and the effective distance of engagements of guns. I should not be able to beam someone with an AR from 100M+ away. Suffered my way to S250 but I’m officially done.

The main thing that is still keeping Battlefield alive even if it's on life support is the fact that there are no other games out there to play lol. Hopefully we got some good stuff coming out in the near future because the last few years have been pretty shit as far as gaming goes.

I picked bf 2042 just couple of weeks ago through xbox pass, and now I learn that all they did previously with bf4(improvements, balancing, tick rates) mostly were thrown out the window and then were gradually added to 2042 through these years
Kinda sad to hop on such late, but It is okay to play the game right now. I only wish they brought more weapons from previous bf games, as well as more infantry only maps ( where is my metro, where is my locker)

The balance of weapons depend on the season which to me isn’t great it seems very CoD like. You want a good open game with weapons and vehicles then they need to make the game larger. They need to add more weapons add more vehicles hell even attachments. EA is limited on the custom vehicles and weapons you can do when it comes to mags, round size, scopes, types of ammo, barrels, silencers, hell if they wanted to make it where you can change firing pins stocks etc. I would even include vehicles and air support

How hard is it to survey what maps people would like to see in portal or previous weapons that were fan favs and have them put into the game? Even just the guns. But more so work on portal they have bad company maps and bf3 maps n there why not ad those to current rotation? And then just put other into portal as an updated event monthly? Or whatever?..

Great video! I think no. They still have Mouse input lag, Server lag/FPS drops on 128 player games. I have a CPU 3700x, GPU ASUS 2080Ti so if you have a 3070 or 4060 or higher you would have better FPS in game, but you will get Server lag. A lot more players are playing BF4, BF1 and BFV. The only way EA/DICE going to fix "BATTLEFIELD 2042" is to "FIX" Mouse input lag. Fix FPS Map drops and add a lot more maps (That are good) and guns to the game. If "EA/DICE" wants to save Battlefield and care on the "FUTURE" they need to bring back Server Browsers like they did with Battlefield 1-V. Bring back that will make everyone in the world play together. I used to play with friends all over the world and had fun, now you have people playing at your time zone and if you lucky can get a full game of players and not have stupid AIMBOT "AI-BOTS" in the game. Thats NUMBER ONE they need to put in. Have a lot of good "BIG" maps, guns in the game. Better fix a lot of the bugs and glitches. "BETTER" fix FPS drops on the maps and Mouse input lag. If they can do this easy task, then Battlefield will be back but if they can't fix BF2042 at the end of this year then i know that the next Battlefield game going to be just like the one that out.

Nice shoutout to our African player base!!! Whoop whoop. Yeah man... Its difficult. We can ONLY use portal to play the game. Official game modes like AOW, Breakthrough and even Portal experiences like Superiority, etc. we cannot play because there is too few people to queue and a 64 sized game needs at least 16 to start. There is NO way for us to change matchmaking regions to play at higher pings, but on more populated servers and NO server browser so that we can see what servers are already running and rather join them. I hope this change in the next BF release.
And remember... DO NOT PRE-ORDER THE NEXT BATTLEFIELD NO MATTER WHAT!

The fact that the game came out during Covid could explain why the game was so bad at launch. Provided that they did have a lot of time to make the game more playable before launch, sometimes things just don’t happen like we want them to.

contents in bf2042 are comparable only to other bfs beta... I really hope they'll do better on the next title (if the IP hasn't died already)
I think the problems with gunplay come from BFV. EA wanted to make the gunplay more CoD like, which was ok in theory, but the result was a boost to high fire rate weapons. With the translation over to the MASIVE maps in 2042, the guns were made more accurate. Now the most viable weapons are just ARs and SMGs.
The last time I played this game (console like a year ago), my team was full of sponge heads, which is fine. i dont play the game ever, so obviously, my sbmm isn't gonna be tuned but it was like jarring everyone was horrible.
my main problem with this game and Halo infinite is just finding a good game, you can't choose the map, the region, being from Latam i barely find full servers which i can do pretty easily on BF1

Part of me wants to get this game. Got it free on PS5 but ended up selling the console since got a new PC. The game has fun moments but it’s just not worth $60. Just feel like I could save the money and have more fun on BF1 and BF4
Ive been playing Battlefield since early 2000 with the first BF1942 (LAN parties in the office after work hours), BF2 was AWESOME, BF Bad Company 2 (rush mode, loved it), BF3 was ok, BF4 okaish, BF1 garbage, BF5 didnt even bother to buy it. I bought on sale the last 2 titles this month (Feb 2024) and played BF2042 and i didnt even realised that rush mode is just a seasonal event .. WTF! I mean rush mode was the greatest game mode introduced in BF series and its not a core game mode? Geez!
there are few things i dont like about this game, most of all number one is lack of content, two mouse imput is dogass for 2+ years and (also remember the redacted under the map glitch? well guess what... two days ago someone managed to go under the map again, they could not go back inside however but this is annoying to recap the objective) and third and completely just my opinion(there are many things wrong but thats my 3 things i wish were fixed...), i hate it that you cant customize the red dot sight with any color you want just like bf 4 and 5... red is okay but i always jammed with Green or Purple. depends on map and visibility.

I downloaded it again 4 days ago on ps5 i wasted 2-3 hours with settings to make it "playable".
Played 3 not so bad matches.
The next day same settings but other gun and it was so extreme strange to play that i quit because aiming was not possible.
Doesn't matter how many updates they make, this game will stay broken forever.
I really hope dice stop wasting resources and the time of theyr employes whitch work at the moment on this nightmare.

Also I’d suggest new players wanting to get into Battlefield try getting EA play for $5 for a month because then they can play 2042 and other Battlefield titles (to compare & contrast) all for the low price of $5 for one month 👍🏽

Worth buying if it is on at the very least a 75% off discount. Buyers should also be aware that 2042 is NOT a Battlefield game, it is Battlefield in name only. But 75% off is a good deal, as the game can be fun for what it is, but it is no Battlefield by any means. I would say just go back and play 4, 1 and V until the next BF game
Idea to potentially remove xp farm portal servers:
There would be a moderation team that would allow a certain experience to grant xp if and only if it is an actual gamemode, and not an xp farm.
This would ensure that all xp farm experiences could never grant xp, thus be useless

After playing planetside 2, I can't get in to battlefield. It's just better. In battlefield, good luck spawning in a vehicle. They are never available. No forward base building, and no new ideas other than locking gear behind specialists.

That's not true. Her cool down time is a perfect balance for her! And her rockets don't do any more damage then the others and they have more rockets

I was playing this game at least 2-3 days a week. With lack of content and having a 50/50 chance of getting into a good server, I haven’t played in over a month. Probably free up some space and just uninstall. How did they go from BF4, BFV to this. If they don’t care then I don’t 🤷🏾♂️

The Physics of the Fly vehicles like Attack Helicopter, Jet are not good 😔 not compared to bf4 or even Bf5, feels to much arcade i don't know, feels really bad. Back to days request some talent to fly and kill, today it's very different, It's a unbalanced mess and kaos.
