they could've explored more on how they ended season 1 like zola showing up at the end I don't know why they didn't explore that and I agree it fell flat towards the end

Agent Carter is just a delightful show. Hope there's a S3 with a Tommy Lee Jones cameo with Peggy & Howard forming SHIELD.

I was cool with Jack's character...I get it he's always confused, but for me personally, his character added a bit more tension to the story...'cause he's scared that Peggy might reveal his secret, he cares for Peggy for she saved his life but his beliefs are conflicting and Vernon(his father's friend) was trying to manipulate him...I loved his character arc...Maybe he contributes less to the whole story but then he has his own story going on...

+Nathan Cassar Howard Stark is confirmed to be alive in the MCU in 1989. It doesn't rule out a "comic book death" of course. So anything is still possible.
SPOILER ALERT: I don't want to spoil anything that you might have missed. So stop reading now to avoid said spoilage.
John Slattery portrayed HS in Iron Man 2. He is seen on the news reel that Tony watches. In the opening to Ant-Man set in 1989, the same actor is again portraying Howard Stark. Hayley Atwell is in the scene too as Peggy Carter.
