  • A common problem for low brass that is different from trumpets! When valve stems loosen, the guide allows the valve to shift and the ports don't align.

Thank you!!! We rented a Tuba at the school I work at and I was wondering what the heck was wrong with it after going through the typical issues. Thanks for saving us money!!!

Thank you so much. I've had more experience with upper Brass as a teacher (French horn) so this was great to problem solve my students tuba!

What’s the little washer thing that holds the valve stem down to a certain point when it’s inside the instrument? It has an indentation on the valve stem where it holds a cushion piece above it. Mine slid all the way down to where the valve guide is somehow, and I’m having trouble trying to get it back up to where it was.

Most valves should have numbers one of the sides and the thing that the valves go into

just unscrew the bottom and push it out bro a stuck valve isnt a problem as long as it works theres ways to get it to start moving again you can even do it at home

@@gg_0nr941 actually we found the problem and the 2nd highest tube needs to be pulled and pushed. Idk what happened but he said "this tuba is really pissy"
