Hey Guys!
I’m Sonali Singh - a 3D animator in Games. I’ve been animating professionally for the past 3 yrs now. In these past few years, I’ve learned a lot through a lot of hard work and some mistakes. Through this channel I want to share all that I’ve learned so far, be it animation, GameDev, Tips and Tricks for Maya, UE4, and much more.
I started this channel in 2020 lockdown with a lot of support from Amaresh Beuria, who’s been a part of this channel from Day 01 and together our goal is to create the best and most interesting experience for you guys, rather than another boring Tutorial video.
You can reach out to us ⬇⬇⬇

Glad to be back after such a long time. 🤗 Do comment your thoughts on the video and leave a Like!
You can also let me know what you'd want the next Tutorial to be - Control Rig, UE5 Animation Basics, Metahuman Animations???
Hey try and upload one for a kinda simple game making tutorial series for beginners
Just a suggestion 😉
always happy to see a new video where you tell us about animation ue5 related stuff. Specially this one, something new for me. THANKS!!
By the way have you ever worked or played with the blendspaces and state machines for your character animations?
Pose Driver setup with shape keys for better muscle deformation please, more control rig, modular characters and cloth/rigid bodies setup in UE5 :)
Hey! Whats the best way to contact you for a project inquiry?
It’s mentioned in the about section. But you can always reach out on info@reboundinteractive.com for project enquiries.
Great video! The editing, delivery and setup are absolutely professional.
Nice to see you back!
As always very clear and helpful
Thanks Ed! 😊
A great video not only shows how you can attach a prop but it also describes how important it is to do the right thing the right way.
Thanks! 😊
Omg, this was so great! Thanks for the tutorial!
Hi. Thanks for video. About last step: you don't need create socket for attach a props. You can attach it to the "ik hand gun" bone directly. Also if you have props with 2 hands interactions you can use ik_hand_l and ik_hand_r bone and use groups (maya) in props rig to prevent parent-child movement
Amazing video!
genius. Always smiling ! 😁😁 . Thanks for the video !
Good to see you back. Greetings from Warsaw:)
Recently, I started making 3D art in Blender and it's very fascinating! I'm really enjoying. But the lighting kills it! I'm posting them on Insta
awesome it works :)
Muito obrigado pela instrução, não encontrava em lugar algum, parabéns Sonali!
Thanks 😊
Professional setup with good editing and valuable content.
Thanks, Marsh 😊
Hiya Sonali... long time no see!!! So good to see you back on RUclips.... Loved the video... very useful and informative tutorial, very professional, easy to follow and understand. Thank you, Sonali! 😁
Yes, would be great to see a tutorial about Metahuman animations, especially if it included modular-parts, ie: taking the head part of the Metahuman mesh and fitting it to another body mesh too as well as other modular-body -parts to swap-in and out..... for when selecting different clothing, hats, hairstyles, etc, etc... that would be great! 😁👌✌🥰
As always, hope to see you back soon..... well, shall we say, soon-ish. Haha! 😂
Take care, Sonali! 😁😉🥰
Hello again Miss Sonali :) I'm sooo glad you are back, have tons of animation questions lol....glad you are well...
Hey! I'm glad to be back on RUclips myself after such a long time. 🥳
Feel free to ask all the animation questions here. 😊
You are doing amazingly well
Thanks 😊
Good to see you again, was just playing dying light 2 😉
this helps a lot and give me ideas. thanks. SUBBED.
Hey. First time viewer. Loved your energy. You should post more vids and specially about your journey. Where you are, how you got there, how was your learning process and maybe bit more tutorials. I cant find 'timeline' in unreal . :D
What a crazy stuff!!! Welcome to my country (I recognized a little bit the apartment particular style and of course DyingLight t-shirt could mean potentially that you are working for TechLand now). Last year I've been to a conference in Kraków where they did a lot of lectures about Dying Light 2. I've heard that this is a very good company, I met some developers and they were all really nice. Congratulations and I hope you will like it here (it gets better in spring/summer I promise ;) )
Luckily I arrived here in Summer. 😅
Can't wait for it to be back and happy again.
And Yes, I'm working at Techland which is definitely a great place to work at with some really nice and fun people around.
I did Upload a video ages ago 😂, where I talk all about getting this job.
wow its awasome tuts mam
Brilliant tutorial, thank you
You're welcome! 😊
great tutorial!! thanks!!!
Thanks for watching. 😊
Nice tutorial. I'm learning Unreal Engine 5 right now mostly to add to my motion graphics tools. I don't use Maya but I think i can recreate the steps in Cinema 4D.
Thanks and good luck with your UE5 journey. 👍🏻
Finally u r back
Yesss! 😁
Thank you Sis
Ms Singh, welcome back.
This and some other tutorials have helped me a lot, thank you for that.
I found out in your channel are there rigs not compatible with game engines right?
There are a lot of channels that teach animation in general, but with a focus on games it is a little more difficult, or there are not many details. I can't afford to buy courses, and your channel has helped me a lot to understand, I am very grateful for that.
You show your animation in Maya and take it to Unreal is amazing, I believe that is what we need to show in a demo reel as an animator right?
Once again thank you very much for this =)
Welcome back ❤
Thanks 😁
Great video... is there a way I can bake the prop out with the the skeletal in the animation..
I am also learning Unreal Engine 5, can you share your journey, how you got the job, what courses or skills do we need to get into this industry? Would be a great help
I though since 5.1 this was done in sequencer with the animation mode enabled, creating a parent constraint with the eyedropper.
hey thats really informative !!With the same process..... i attached a skeleton gun mesh by adding a new socket but my gun is wierdly rotated although the transform location is fine .....Please help
Hi Sonali! Glad to see you again! ^_^
This video was about attaching prop to UE's mannequin but how about other rigs? How to attach a prop to any rig in UE? Maybe rigs without IK hand gun controller.
Thanks!
Hey Nil. I'm happy to be back. 😊
I focused on Mannequin as most skeletons made for UE have that rig structure.
For other rigs that don't have this joint, you can create an additional joint Or use any existing one, but make sure they are in global space.
Maybe I can make a short to showcase this. 🤔
Hi Sonali, Congrats on your achievements! How did you learn animation to get to a hireable level when you started learning? Did you self study online (youtube, udemy etc), online course (animation mentor etc) or went to a physical school(MAAC etc)?
Fam Make sure your SM is set to movable in your mobility options or you won't be able to attach your SM
Thank you for the video 🙏
You are a life saver I love your videos and learn so much. But I am having problems exporting an animation in unreal it doesn't read the animation by it self on the content browser, and believe I have tried every video but it doesn't work I don't know what to do. Can you help please?
Great video Sonali! Question for you - how do you bake out an animation sequence from Sequencer that INCLUDES the prop football so it's a standalone asset? All I get is the character moving it's arms or legs but the ball mesh is not there and has to be added later. Thanks again, and great to see you back!!
Thanks Michael. 😊
Answer - I don't think you can bake out or merge different actors/objects into a single animation. In this case Ball is a different actor and it has to be added separately via a socket or constraint(Control Rig).
Although you never know what's possible with Unreal these days. Control Rig has come a long way and it's amazing. However I haven't had the chance to explore these new features myself due to work commitments😅. Hoping to make more videos and exploring these awesome new editions. 👍🏻
@@SonaliSingh Thanks, Sonali! I'll try to reverse engineer it from one of the Paragon characters. For example there is one that has a sword and throws it up in the air and catches it. Hard to figure out sometimes!
can already see my coffee table doing the Cha-Cha
I just saw your GTA VI tweet, it’s safe to say playing Football is confirmed in the game!! 🤭👍
WOW this was extremely informative in such a short time. We need these simple yet "PRO TIPS" more than you'd think. What does it mean to "be fully rigged" with regards to the soccer ball? I hear this "fully rigged to epic skeleton" alot but have no idea what it actually means. I might need an ELI5 here. Do you have any videos with regards to wearables for the character? For instance armor, or a cloth cloak? I have many questions regarding this since it is not simply placed into a hand. Any info or sources on this will be much appreciated, its very hard to find!
can you show the process of baking the animation, i am using a advanced skeleton rig and when i export the animation to unreal these is no movement its just static. but after i do Key > bake simulation its not the same in unreal as it is in maya and also the controls stop working if i want to adjust the animation?
What if the ball is rigged?
Can you use IK_foot_r instead? Great video, hope your do more character stuff!
i want to make a wheel rotate in a 3d environment and rebbon from the wheel should make a logo is this possible only using unreal
This was very helpful and I'm glad I just saw it because I was about to commit THE mistake
Haha, So the video was out here just in time. 😋
man u worked in Diyinglight 2? man i love that game. one question ca some one transition from cgi or vfx animation to game animation?
About your next topic I think UE5 Animation Basics.
I would like to suggest another theme for video. Something like " how to make an attractive game play animator portfolio".
in this content you can have not only with animations, but what I need to know about Unreal as well
Thanks =)
Hi sonali i have one question i am export maya charecter rig fbx and import unreal and next that character animation file brek the all joint and import the unreal
Where'd you go? Please come back 😢
mam can you explain in next vedio for fresher what expect in industry and how to settle in industry
Hey hi Sonali I have one issue I am scaling rig in maya character 5 size and I am animate that character and importing in unreal but animation is scale 1 size ? And need to be 5 size scale animation any solution?
Question where did you learned MAYA
Hi welcome back hope new content soon ig
Thanks 😊
Definitely not north korea 🇰🇵 and not Nazi Germany that's a bad non existent place...
That's supposed to be a joke by the way..
@@suryakamalnd9888 she's in Poland
Welcome back, or something like that ;)
Hahaha, yeah. You got it right! 😂
@@SonaliSingh glad to hear, haha
Sorry but it did not work with mine character... Is it need to use your Manny Character to have the bone to use?
Finally! :D I'm aspiring to be a gameplay animator one day! would love if you make a video on how to get started? what to learn and stuff.
Hey thanks for the video, I try desperately to attach a shovel to both my hands for a digging animation, any idea to help? thanks
You're Welcome 😊
Bdw for attaching a shovel or two handed props you can also use the same principal where you parent the prop to IK_Hand_Gun or any controller in world space and constraint it to the one hand and you can switch this between either hands.
However it's quite difficult it explain via text. 😓
I'll make a video to explain this better. 👍🏻
@@SonaliSingh would love to thanks for the support !
A channel called cinemagic uses animation to explain things,I want to learn how to do that can you make a tutorial
🙂🌺🌺🌺
helloo there nice to see u again .I started watching your videos but u suddenly stopped posting videos.I am following your insta then i understood anyway best of luck for ur new journey
Umm 🤔 what's the journey? (Don't ask me to see her insta) explain
girl went offline when I was doing walkcycles and came back when I'm doing my parkour shot 😂
Maya would be too expensive for me £246 per month.
In a game like Super Mario Odyssey, when Mario gets a moon, he does a spin animation and displays the moon above him and a name appears on which one he collected. I'm guessing it's done in a similar way to this video?
I totally agree on Maya being super costly. But you can use the same principles in free DCC Applications like Blender to add extra controllers for your props and use them in Unreal as I did in the video.
From where did you completed your degree?
Amity University Mumbai. But I guess that doesn't matter as I dropped out during the last semester to learn actual animation. 😅
@@SonaliSingh yeah I will be completing my degree in BCA at first then will learn Animation 😀 ig tab tak animation m bohut kuch sikh jaunga from online... 🙂
Not showing "add new state machine" in animation blueprint could you please help me 😭
I'm not sure why don't you see the option as It's still there.
Right click on Anim Graph -> Search for "State Machine". Under "Animation" category you'll see "State Machines and under that you've State Machine Node that you're looking for.
Hope that helps. 😊
@@SonaliSingh tqq problem solved
