    Those snow crystals brought back memories of snowshoeing thru similar crystals and they would sound like glass fragments as I walked. I used to love hiking in the dark, I would start about 3 am so if anything went wrong daylight was coming. Really enjoyed this video, nicely edited.

      @@easycamperdandog Thanks Dan. It was a beautiful day to do that hike, it’s funny how even though it was cold it started out with no snow and at the lake it was nearly a foot deep. It’s definitely better to start in the dark as opposed to finishing in the dark, I got a bit of a late start that day and it took me longer to hike out than I had anticipated.

    another nice one ! I remember your video from last year and recognized the trees you had cut too. I had also watched the old old one not so long ago. the snow was on and off depending on elevation I suppose and also facing north or south I guess. Another beautiful area and great hiking trails. After a cold spell from an Alberta clipper, it's warmish again here in New Jersey, I ditched the parka from last week and back to light jacket and light sweater...

      Thanks. It’s a great hike to do especially when it’s not too crowded out. I’m glad they finally replaced the bridges, it makes it a lot easier for most people to be able to do the hike.

      @@rdulaneyjr Yeah it was really cool to see, it stopped me in my tracks to just look around and see it everywhere.

    I try to head up there every other year or so to see how the forest repairs itself after the fire.

      It’s a great hike to a beautiful area. I’m glad the fire didn’t totally devastate the place.

    How many lumens in your headlamp?

    • @scottalpine
      @scottalpine  Месяц назад +1

      @@kirklaird5020 I’m not sure. The max setting is 1200 but I was on a lower wider beam setting. It’s a headlamp I’ve had for a few years and they don’t make any more. The brand is Soaraise.
