The Declaration of Martial law was used before to prevent Philippines from surprise attack or invading of NPA and terrorist group and to prevent the Philippines from communism that was a true fact about the Declaration of Martial Law in Philippines.
Yes part of it were true but let's not deny the fact that marcos used that opportunity to loot country's wealth and satisfied his and his family's life style.

January 17, 1973: Marcos issued a proclamation stating that the new Constitution has been approved by the people.
January 17, 1981: Marcos lifted Martial Law.

I was born in the year 76, and I was happy to receive a 2 pesos blue bill because that was worth something back then. And I vividly recall the exchange rate from a $1 dollar to ₱2 pesos. Yes my fellow countrymen - that was how Rich our country was back then. We were Asia's Singapore... And look at us now, bastardized and left amongst other Asean countries. In all governance, there will be people who will oppose. However it is but OUR right as people to be WISE when it comes to choosing the RIGHT people to UPHOLD GOOD Governance, and for us to pick those that HAVE a plan to make the Philippines great. @@miketaijus1909 If you raise the budget of the infrastructures twice then of course people would see results. The painful thing is it was funded by international loan and at the end of his term the economy had a great recession (1984-1985). Not only did it come from loan but only a fraction of that loan was put to good use. The rest were stolen and you defending Marcos is actually repulsive. I hate the Aquinos too their move on decreasing peso value to make deals with European countries reversed the actual golden years 1950-1960 (which btw was not on the marcos era). I study economics and I find it funny people calling other people out but they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
