    Awesome review, has any chair ever gotten a 10 on your kerb and cobblestone tests?

      Hi Derrick,
      They are quite right to, as you always want to minimise any chance of tipping over.
      We have just shown in the video what it can do stability wise. 👍

    • @southernmobilityservices

      Hi Charles,
      The chair in thee video is a 6mph version, if yours is the same then yes the Stretto can have all sort of programming done to it including accelleration, turning speed, stopping distance.
      You will need to take it to an authorised dealer with the correct programming software. 👍

    I have this chair. Mine only reclines. I wish it would raise or have legs lift while in recline. Do I need a different joystick monitor to have those options? Is it that simple? I'm so confused.

    • @southernmobilityservices
      @southernmobilityservices  2 года назад

      Hi Lawanda,
      Unfortunately you would need a different seat base as it has a scissor lift, an actuator to lift it.
      For the legs you would need new version with connectors for power, a new hand set and all the associated electric to make it work.
      I hope this helps, although it might be disappointing to learn it needs alot to make it all work the way you would like it. 👍

      @@southernmobilityservices it's okay. When I was fitted for it, they seemed to think I'd be in a nursing home in the next year or something. I still live alone, do my own shopping, drive, etc. What should've been prescribed was something lightweight that I could break down and take with. It's frustrating to have a, albeit amazing, chair that helps slightly for around the apartment but I still have to use my forearm crutches with weak legs if I plan to leave the building at all. Im only 46. It feels like they think I'll be reliant on others for everything in the next 5 years. Little do they know I've made leaps and bounds with PT/OT in just a few short weeks. Another chair will not be covered by insurance. It'll have to be out of pocket.Alas, not your fault. I'm just annoyed beyond belief.

      I think its a lack of understanding of where your mobility is going. I take it your in the United States as you said the chair is covered by insurance?
      Can you go back to the insurance and say the chair was not prescribed correctly?
      Im not up to speed with how the system work compared to the UK.

      @@southernmobilityservices Yes. It was through state Medicaid. They'll only support purchase of one high level mobility device every (x amount of) years. I think it's 5yrs but it could be 7yrs. Signing it off to me means I'm stuck with it. If they'd have started with something more useful to me, I'd have been fine. If I'd need something more equipped for my needs at some point, they'd reassess and a swap would've been possible. As usual, most of what they do is backwards/makes zero sense.

      Hi Derrick,
      If you have the Q-Logic 3 handset with the iaccess on the other arm, a 4 button programmable control pad which can be latched to raise the while driving.
      Have a look at the video in the link below and you will see the control panel. 👍

      Hi Derrick,
      The button you press all depends on which button your supplier has programmed to raise the chair and if it has been latched to raise whist driving.
      You would probably need to speak to them to see if any of that has been done.
      The iacsess buttons are all programmable. 👍

    I just wish on these videos you would actually use a disabled person to demonstrate your products not someone who is out too sell it

    • @southernmobilityservices
      @southernmobilityservices  3 года назад +1

      Hi Raymond,
      Ideally having a disabled person in the videos would be an idea, but asking people to drive a product maybe to its limits would not be correct, plus we would have to insure every different user individually.

    • @Charliemortonuk
      @Charliemortonuk 2 года назад +1

      A tester is a tester I’m disabled and don’t mind who’s doing the test videos as long as I can see the product in action weather it’s a disabled user or not the test would be the same so wouldn’t matter

  • @58209
    @58209 2 года назад +1

    2:37 how can you rate the stabilization 8/10 while fully elevated while the user is being visibly tossed around in the seat? your rating here is misleading for the needs of disabled users who don't have good core strength to keep from being shaken beyond their ability to control or, who will be outright thrown out of their chair. (and apparently the rumble test while in the lowered position was worse? why not show that as well, since it's valuable safety information that prospective users need to know about?)
    you should really be using testers with major motor disabilities for these kinds of demonstrations, because then they can give feedback that is actually meaningful for similarly disabled clients.
    i have no reason to trust the other parts of your review when there is such a huge oversight in your assessment. hire disabled people.

    • @southernmobilityservices
      @southernmobilityservices  2 года назад +2

      As we have said before it would cost a great deal to insure anybody to be in the videos, plus each chair would have to be set up completely different every time.
      As for core strength, most users who suffer with weak core strength and would want to use a chair over rough ground would use a harness for stabilizing the core.
      The videos are an overview of what the chair can do and it will mean different things to different people.
      The chair has more flex when in the air thus making it smoother over the rumble strip.
      8 out of 10 was for stabilization not comfort.
      Most users with poor core strength would avoid a rumble strip and look for a smoother path, but if we just videos a smoother path that in no way would show what the chair is capable of.
      So we totally disagree the video is misleading, as we have been told many times, it is good to see what the chair can do.
      Your just looking from your point of view.
      Users have many different conditions that affect their chair useage, it is impossible to be all thing to all users in one video.
