    This is absolutely one of the greatest promos in wrestling history. Sure, it may not be "deep", and it may not have lead to a major championship or anything, but for a moment, we saw a legend on the mic interacting with one of the best impersonators in pro wrestling. The back-and-forth wooing is absolutely the icing on the cake, but the whole interaction here from start to finish is GOLD.

    I’ve only ever seen Rick be this proud of a few wrestles. HHH, Shawn, Taker, Randy Orton and now Jay. Rick was so happy jay came out with the respect and the smile. Best promo of that time. Legendary

    You can just see that they are both LOVING this. Ric Flair loves Jay Lethal's tribute to him (I won't even call it an impression), and Jay seeing Ric do his thing unscripted and playing back at him is bringing him SO MUCH JOY. You can just see him thinking, "Man, I can imitate you, but I still can't predict your moves".

      yep, COMPLETELY unscripted, both of them have said so, it was 4 minutes of 2 guys completely and utterly shooting on each other. Flair has said that this angle was one of his top 2 or 3 favorite angles he did in his career because Jay did it so well and nothing was ever scripted, every promo was just 2 guys who loved wrestling and each other like brothers shooting on each other and they had no idea it was going to blow-up like it did.

I quit watching this shitty reality tv show in 2012 because it was so bad, i mean just super bad, like nothing worse, every RAW was a 3-hour torture and if you managed somehow to watch full episode then you are a hero.     For Ric too give Jay permission to do this was amazing. He knew the kid was talented and they've been friends ever since. This was fantastic i remember this skit like it was yesterday. Pure genius between both of them. Jay is a VERY VERY talented guy.
