- This is it. We're in the final 24 hours of the Kickstarter campaign for The Veronica Mars Project, and Kristen wants to say a few last words to all of our amazing backers and fans.
I am sure it will be well worth the wait! Peace and joy!
You are all very welcome. From a Day 1 fan, I couldn't be happier to see one of the two best shows ever on TV (Arrested Development being the other) get its day in the sun again.
Yessss. Got paid just in time! Just donated and cannot wait to get my DVD when it comes out.

It still feels surreal that this is happening. My favorite show is back from the dead! The cast and crew for Veronica Mars are amazing as well. I am so happy :).

You guys freaking ROCK to do this, I cannot WAIT! Keep it the same as the series, best show that was ever created for TV. Hope you come back on air too after the movie ;). These new all the same polished pretty, bad actors TV shows can't hold a candle to Veronica mars.

Secondly, I have to apologize for not being able to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign in time. I only very recently heard about the movie project from a friend who is a huge fan, and he got me into the show. I finished watching it too late to donate, but I am so happy that you exceeded your goal by so much.
I'll bring a bag of marshmallows to the theater, promise!

I would love to have Veronica Mars back on my TV screen each week, ended WAY to soon. Season 4 was going to be awesome..

She's seriously so awesome. I'm so happy that they didn't give up on the show. I think she looks great for just having a baby and I'm glad she's just in regular clothes and not wearing a ton of makeup. She looks natural. I'm so excited for the movie :)
For people that may have missed it, Rob Thomas was on a Canadian talk show and said that he would not be opposed to having a 4th season of VM on netflix. I think this should be our next goal!

I'm so excited for this. I'm also terrified the movie will fall flat. But even if that happens, at least we'll know we tried. We can no longer blame WB for being cold-hearted about it.

I feel so terrible for not being able to donate a single cent for this cause, just because I live in a country where we cannot back the project. But I'll go watch the movie once it's out. If there's going to be another campaign (who knows what might happen after the first movie is done and released?), I sure hope that we will be given the chance to back it.
Now that kickstarter is becoming ( or has become) the 'hottest and coolest' place to bring in your idea and anticipate the general public for the support I just kinda have a feeling that instead of actually taking risk (even though they won't even need to do that in the first place as to how popular the series was)...they just seem to be experimenting on it which I know alot of people don't even know.

I think it could be close. The average Backer per hour has to be around 220 over the next 20 hours or so, and it'll possibly be broken. Avg-ing more, like 250 or more of course makes things easier. But for some reason I wouldn't expect it to happen, if it does get broken, until sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening.

I, for one, am glad that Kickstarter will get a cool $283K from this project. Cha-ching for Kickstarter (and I guess Amazon too). Now Kickstarter can keep improving it's platform for other projects that aren't so mainstream.

What they mean is that The Veronica Mars project is the project that achieved the highest goal set in Kickstarter history.
One Kickstarter record I don't see the VM movie breaking is the total funding (all categories). The OUYA sits just under 8.6mil. I'd LOVE for it to happen, but we're a ways off for the last 24 hours.

because the show ended years ago, they all have other jobs now. kristen is on house of lies, Tina is a reoccurring character on greys anatomy and so forth. as amazing as it would be, a movie is about what we could hope for.

This changed my mind. I was gonna be like "meh, they can make it without my monies" but now I donated $10 atleast.
oh, and according to Wikipedia, the Highest total dollar amount funded is $10.266 Million for "Pebble: E-Paper Watch." But the 5.275+ that this campaign will fund, will end up the 3rd Highest funded Campaign ever, behind the Pebble E-Paper and OUYA Video Game console.

Actually, I take that back. For the last hour, I've been checking it every 3 minutes.
They'll have to do a trilogy. haha
The show was cancelled after season 3, before they could make season 4, though they did have a plan and a short preview for season 4 where VM was working undercover for the FBI. That's why they're making a movie, because they had a lot more story to tell but were cancelled before they could tell it!

such idea was insulting to me prior to what the backers would be getting back in return and also being that such movie, as this [from a very popular tv series], would require a whole lot more than what they [originally ] asked for to be written, directed, produced, published, and advertised.
