I've bought the same deck NOS in 2005 and now the belts are gone. I was able to replace them easily. Kudos to Sony for that service friendly design for their very last tape deck.
My WE 475 Dolby switch seems loose and doesn't engage anything (I think the dolby is just left on) - is there a repair video for that? Also, as there's only a single dolby switch the setting applies to both decks?
@@davidluther3955 Why is it junk? If the tape was made on another deck that wasn't adjusted, that's the only way really to correct for that. It's like Play Trim, but for speed instead of output level.
ive had one of these decks for years and one day it just wouldnt power on at all. I opened it up and theres no inline glass fuse in it at so I have no idea how to fix it
I have this exact same model. The problem I have is on Deck A the tape plays for a few seconds and switches sides back and forth and the counter on that deck doesn't move. What's causing that to happen?
Yeah, the belt running the counter wheel (little white notched one) has probably failed or slipped off. If the counter stops, the deck thinks the tape reached the end, and reverses.

Sorry, dont know
8:42 The pitch control only works with deck A. I do like the ability to correct the speed of tapes recorded on other decks with poor speed adjustment.
Me too
THAT SPEED CONTROL IS NOTHINIG BUT,A PIECE OF JUNCK.IF THE TAPEDECK IS OPERATING PROPERLY,YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CHANGE THE THE SPEED.

I have the same exact problem on both decks. Did you ever figure out the issue?
Wenn‘s doch immer so einfach wäre…
Stimmt 😉
Good Job 👍🙂👍
