    You are a genius! Your "Layit bucket" is the best I have seen in years. Picked up the buckets today and will to building next week. Thanks for a great solution!

    I’ve thought about that fencing. Do you ever have hawks or owls get your chickens? And I’m assuming you clip wings?

      Only one bird kill over the last year. I do not clip wings. Every once in a while, a chicken will fly out of the pen but it's not a big issue. I've been allowing them to free range out of the pen and nothing has bothered them. They return to the chicken tractor to roost at night.

      Can't say that I know that answer but I would have to think that they'd rather I take them than a predator that would likely eat the chickens too!

      The only time I think they care is if they’re broody/ready to be a mama. If not then they forget about it very quickly
