- The terrorist attacks by Hamas transformed life in Israel overnight. How are people coping? Amid war between Israel and Hamas and escalating tensions across the Middle East, we meet people whose everyday lives are now marked by fear and suffering.
British-Israeli curator and artist Sofie Berzon MacKie was in the Be'eri kibbutz when Hamas attacked. She hid with her children while others from her community were killed just meters away. Ori Szternfeld is an Israeli filmmaker whose wife is pregnant. Right now, their feelings fluctuate between excitement about the baby they’re expecting very soon, and uncertainty about the world they’re bringing it into. Surfing4Peace founder Arthur Rashkovan and singer Omer Moskovich are undeterred by the fear and instability in their country and refuse to give up hope.

in South Africa we are generally ok just living in our own seperate worlds as different cultures, the big problem is that many in the other world have no jobs.
at least we live in a democratic Republic so there's hope for a better future if we change the ruling party, because that seems to be the only way things can begin to change. one other thing that can help us is if Zimbabwe starts getting fixed.

I am an atheist but I have often found the devout caring for me in times of need, either as an expression of their faith or their humanity. How Christ-like a fellow human can be, no matter their faith. I hope in times of need you remember there are many others who would too help you as you cry out for help for those in Gaza.

Peace and equal rights is really what is needed at the end of the day.
Equality? It does not seem as though that is the solution to peace, as poor cities have violence as do wealthy neighborhoods. The rate of violence in poor areas, have stigmas. If everyone felt equal to each other would there be peace?? It seems people need to understand what is to be nice and how to friend/love each other, conflict resolution, how to handle anger/frustration, boundaries personal and other individuals, and being grateful to God and for what they have, etc such valuable lessons, combined with individual efforts to keep amicable peaceful relationships with others similar and different.

This was one of the very best films I’ve watched with regards to the horrors on October 7th.
The discussions were candid, and with a very necessary understanding of the politics & upheaval that were already taking place in Israel… Indeed the issues are extremely complicated. I, personally agree with the sentiments of the people in this film.
I want nothing, but PEACE in this world. Yet, I’ve come to realize more than ever, WARS are what our countries were founded by; to this I weep!

Not saying that one person's life is worth more than another but you should also consider Palestine after the attack and the oppression that only gotten worse. Many of the arrested ISIS families are living in camps guarded by Kurds. The children here too were born and getting raised in prison camps. If these people and children are allowed to break free, we might see more terror and killings or ethnic cleansing. So they are facing the consequences of their own/ancestoral actions. There is something called intergenerational trauma which basically means that trauma is passed down from generation to generation until someone decides to undergo a deep healing process. The Jews as a collective have stored a lot of trauma and it's from a long time ago, they haven't actually healed it and now it's resurfacing to be acknowledged. It's not new trauma.

What Hamas did was beyond barbaric and incomprehensible, but Netanyahu's security failings that day is inexcusable as well, considering Israel is world known for it's tight, largely impenetrable security. I deeply feel for the losses on both sides, especially the children and women!

I read some of the comments here and again most people speak about the poor Palestinians and what Israel does or did to them. It blows my mind that people totally ignore that there is a side that attacks and a side that defends. The Palestinians ALWAYS attacked and the Israelis always had to defend thenselves. The Palestinians always attack because they refuse peace and a two state solution and want to destroy all of Israel. That's what the conflict has always been about and it blows my mind that people don"t see that.

Why would Palestinians want to live in a Zionist ethno-state? Over 700 000 Palestinians were expelled from their homes in 1948, they have no right to return. Thousands of Palestinians were killed in the past 8 decades, humiliated and oppressed. You cannot ethnically cleanse a group of people, build towns on the ruins of their homes and expect peace in return.

Palestinians are playing a victim card because they do not have FAITH in their Allah. They want the western countries to come and help and rescue them. They need to learn lessons from the Kurds, who are being persecuted and terrorized by four Islamic countries simultaneously and yet they maintained their dignity and keep struggling and fighting without playing a victim-card.
