- German-Palestinian Nidal wants to return from Berlin to his family in the Gaza Strip. But will Israel allow a Palestinian to pass through the country? And will the Palestinian Hamas government let him enter?
This documentary follows Nidal Bulbul, a naturalized German citizen born in Gaza, on an exciting and emotional journey. He has not seen his parents or his ten siblings for over four years. A former reporter, he set up a successful café in the German capital. He’s made new friends, built a new life. But he always worries about his family back in his old home - a feeling that many who have found shelter from war or persecution in Europe know all to well. When everything points to a new escalation between Israel and Gaza, Nidal drops everything from one day to the next. He sells his café, gives his dog to friends and leaves for Gaza. But there are only two ways to get there: through Egypt or through Israel. Nidal wants to try the Israeli route, but it is unclear whether the Israeli authorities will accept his German passport and let him though the country to Gaza. And even if they do, will the radical Islamist Hamas government allow him in?

When was "Palestine" established?
Why was their flag created only in 1964?
Why did she gain independence in 1988 and not before?
Why did Jordan control them before 1967?
All this happened long after Israel was established in 1948.
Answer those questions for me..
@@uribarel
1. it was legally established in November 15, 1988 wich is basically the date that palestine was recongnized by the UN.
2.how is the flag created in 1964 but it wasn't even a state?. plaestine was unter the ottoman empire that fell in 1922 leaving the land to be colonized by the européen countries (in palestine's case it was the UK) that later on tried to "GIVE" it to the européen zionists that wanted a state of thier own. the land was the never the UK's land to give. just because the we didn't recongnize it as a state untill later on in the time-line doesnt mean it didn't exist.
3.as i said before . from the ottomans to the européens to now the zionists. palestine was never truelly free or independant. it just happened to be the time is was recongnized as a state.
4.as for the jordan thing i think it was a desprate attept from jordan to help palestine (like if jordan was saying "you can't take that isreal because its mine")
but i have to say that i am not sure on that one and to be honest i don't really know about that.
5.because of the support that was isreal recieving from nations that were already in the UN and because europe and the US were very powerful politcaly at the time (i think they still are but not as effictive) it was recongnized as soon as the UK "gave"/designated that land to zionists to colonize and call it home(the UK basically pointed the map and said "you can have that patch of land" except in this case isreal really wanted that land because of religeious reasons since they believe that god gave them that land).
i think everything i just said was facts. i am not trying to convince you or something. if you think i missed out on something important or was wrong about something please do tell me.
p.s: i am sorry if this was bit too long i didn't expect it to be.

You all should read more about Islam
Most of the Gaza Muslim Arabs are pro-Hamas. They scream on the streets "we are all Hamas". They blessed the Arab murderess of innocent Jews, they celebrated the mass murder of the Jews, they are related to the terrorists, somebody son, somebody father, somebody brother etc. I do not have pity for them. They routinely scream on Arabic "itbah al yahud" (murder the Jews!.) They deserve what is coming to them.
It doesn’t matter how many times I write that the “Palestinians” are a terrorist organization, and not a people made homeless by the cruel Zionists. It doesn’t matter how many times I remind you that they have neither their own language, nor culture, nor history, that they came to Israel from all over the Arab world, that they are united by nothing except Islam and the thirst for Jewish blood. It doesn't matter that "historical Palestine" is just an anti-Semitic myth, like the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, only much more successful. The important thing is that the whole world believes that Arafat’s terrorist organization is the real people. And if the whole world thinks so, then that means it is so.

@@Fawzia87Hthat’s why we are enemies, because you hate us so much, it’s in your dna
It’s not so black and white, you don’t know the entire story
Aw! Snap! I'm crying...It's painful to see his sister pseudo happy, wished him not to be there experiencing what they all at home had. She said she was happy that her brother wasn't there around in difficult Gaza. She wish him achieve his dream in Germany. Oh Gosh her brother wants so bad to see her and the family. There is a clash of interest and wishes and one doesn't understand the other. Both are left separated by the crossfire without knowing how long it may take or if it'll never Happen forever.
Love from Meghalaya.
Hope all is well.
Let there be peace
One of the best documentaries I have seen recently. May God bless you all.
Indeed, Gaza is an open prison. 😢 This is terribly horrific
Good Luck my friend. I pray your family/friends are safe in this terrible war.
Heartbreaking, these people are literally hostages. As a Brit who has freedom to travel anywhere i can only imagine the pain i would feel if i was never to see my family again.
No mate, they just wanna get out of that city, But if u want the truth, If your born in gaza or the west bank, your gonna die there as well.
You brits are partially to blame for alot of problems.
Sadly, the British are one of the major reasons why the Palestinians are still suffering - your government gave the land to the Jews, regardless of the fact that other people were already living there. The ethnic cleansing that followed continues to this day.
Don’t get me wrong, I support the State of Israel as a free, democratic country founded by Jews - but I also believe that the Palestinians should have basic human rights, including the right to autonomy and self-determination. And the Sykes-Picot agreement damn near made that impossible. At least today’s Britons acknowledge the mistakes of their forebears.
The west bank is a lot easier to get permits for, and there are thousands who go in and out daily for work. Gaza is a special circumstance because of Hamas@@planerunner4020
he looks so much like his father .. its crazy how similar their faces are
If you live in The Cleveland/Akron area, please vote for Nina Turner for Congress! Talk to friends, family, neighbors, and acquaintances! Tell them Nina is the real deal and can't be bought. She is fighting for the people, and supports Palestinians rights! Her opponent is sponsored by the pro-Israel lobby., who is pouring in money in attack ads to stop Nina Turner!! It’s neck and neck. We need every vote! Early Voting is going on now! Election day is August 3rd!
Also if you know anybody in the Cleveland/Akron area, hit them a call! Thanks
what beautiful eyes his father has passed to all his children
Absolutely heartbreaking he didn’t get to visit his family 💔
I hope they are safe with the on going conflict.
May we all live in better times.
@lama ahmed you can make peace; don't believe Lisa about other people who can't let go of a grudge to their own detriment.
I hope his family is safe through the latest attacks on Gaza. I wish I could do something to actually help those that are suffering.
you know that gaza attacked first, right?
@essfaktoor you know that the Isreali forces were expelling Palestinians from their home and attacking one of their holiest sites first right?
@@hu5na I hate Israel but you guys whining over something you keep starting again is hilarious just admit you lost lol
You actually can, by denouncing hamas and terrorism in general. That would help.
@@essfaktor7127 Standing for humanity is victory. Losers are those who sold out their humanity and faith for their ambitions and left a shame for their future generations. What you call "sometihng" is their and their children's lives and I don't think you can ask someone to stop "whining" while their under-15 kids are being murdered in the name of self defence, while their sacred places are being attacked as soon as you stop watching. Nobody wants war unless their rights are denied. They are not starting again, it just never stopped in first place.

Why can’t he get in through Egypt?
Or maybe a better question is, why is Egypts border with Gaza always closed? I never hear anyone talk about that.
Here after the Hamas war broke out. This is true journalism. Thank you DW for covering this and allowing the world to understand a bit more on how it's like in Gaza.
My heart goes out to the Palistinian ppl but didn't they vote for the Hamas leadership, Hamas don't care abt the poverty or how they're living...Hamas is using the Palistinian ppl as human shields... Is it ok wht Hamas hs been doing with the millions of dollars given for the welfare of the ppl? This money is being used by Hamas for building miles of tunnels under Gaza for storage of Ammunition, their whole life is abt destroying Israel, do rembr that Israel is the Apple of God's Eye, that's why the Lord God Almighty will always protect his ppl... in the same way He protected them whn they crossed the Red Sea, He also provided food n shelter while crossing the desert on their way to the "Promised Land"...is the monies sent from all the supportive countries used in anyway for the benefit of the Palistinian ppl.? The Hamas Leadership... they're living the finest high Life in other countries, their children studying abroad in the best Schools n Universities, driving the most expensive vehicles n living lavishly...to those whom are criticizing Israel...think wht Hamas is doing to their own ppl... don't blame Israel, ws the attack on Israel 7th Oct killing hundreds of families n kidnapping women and children, beheading babies, hs Israel ever commit these kind of heinous crime? Never heard of any, what's happening now in Gaza is the War between Hamas n Israel...have heard that Hamas blocked the exit so that the Palistinian ppl couldn't get out or leave Gaza as ws directed by the Israeli Army? This is a war and again Hamas doesn't care abt the Palistinian ppl... they're the most Evil demonic religion in the world... Wondering wht God they're praying to, "Jesus is Lord"and there's no other God but the God of Abraham Issac and Jacob...for He's the Maker of Heaven n Earth... Israel will continue to win this war as all the others before in Jesus Precious Name Amen...
We take the little things for granted. Family is everything. In'sha'allah he see his family soon.
Oh yes and I forgot to mention his sister was like a princess and the little babies so so CUTE!!! God protect us all
Back then the family was hoping for easier travel regulations. Today, we don‘t even know if any of these family members are alive.
The bravery of the Palestinian people never ceases to amaze me. I can't believe what horrible treatment they experience every day. Anyone with a heart should not support subjugation of an entire people.
Unfortunately, the last week has shown me many people either are heartless, or very very ignorant.
@@Neddoest I can't believe "ethnic cleansing is bad" is a position that needs to be defended
@@Neddoestyou talking about phosphorus bomb attack and attack on innocent in hospital by Israelies?
I have seen Gaza strip from air while flying from Amman Jordan
My heart breaks for him, I know what is like to be away from family in foreign lands.
Israel withdrew from Gaza in ’05. Hamas responded with tens of thousands demonic rockets to kill, terrorize shell shock and hurt Israeli babies, Israeli women & Israeli men. Is your ‘broken’ heart ‘breaks’ for them too?
Israel is not pure, although there are some pure ones there. Gaza is not evil, although there are some evil ones there!
Israel is now paying, not for your occupation but for your arrogance......yes, you are the Children of Abraham. But essentially you are disobedient.....you refuse the Cross/Messiah ......Israel will suffer beyond belief until a divine revival hits the land!
What a great life outlook- great man
Palestinians have been suffering so much for so many years enough is enough! 😢😢😢
I hope his family is safe.
His family made the hardest but the right decision. Imagine parents who love their child a lot and knows that their child loves them back and all they want is their child's happiness but it comes at a cost of probably never seeing him again.
very emotional and brutal documentary. It shows you the reality behind borders. Thanks for sharing this view unknown to most of us foreigners...
Thank you for watching.
Hope Nadal and his family are okay.
Well the border wasn’t enough to save babies from being abducted, beheaded and burned alive…or music festival goers…INCLUDING A LOVELY GERMAN GIRL from meeting a brutal end at the hands of Palestinians. Indiscriminate, brutal men.
I hope he and his family are doing okay ♥️

@Aaron Sochaczweski where did I blame germany...which word insinuates germany...
Israel left Gaza in 2005. If hamas wanted peace with Israel, none of these situations would happen. Hamas is the problem. Stop blaming Israel who is trying to protect its citizens

what about entering gazza through Egypt!?
Hamas have been associated with Muslim Brotherhood, originally being an offshoot from them, hence given Egypt's bloody history with Muslim Brotherhood they blockade Gaza as well.

No because they are religious extremists
The border crossing from Gaza is closed the whole year
