Hi! I know this is an older video, but I just wanted to say your stuff is awesome. We've been trying to grow our channel and came across a few of your videos. Just subscribed and thanks for putting out this type of content! Keep them going and current, please! 🤗💜
Interesting advices, Brian! I do some of them and other strategies, but my channel was hit heavily by youtube algo updates in september 2017 and again now. It would be great to know is there are chances to gain exposure with all these changes: the multiple bell choices, the "occasional" notifications when people Subscribe, the bug of missing notifications, the new order for the feed page....RUclips is "optimizing" everything! My videos had 1k views in the first hour of upload and now they make 300 views in a week. This has nothing to do with the quality of my contents, which ironically is way higher than before.
You're 100% right: RUclips's made it MUCH harder to get your videos in front of subscribers. That's why video SEO is so important right now (both optimizing for search and to appear in the Suggested Video sidebar)
Thanks for the reply! Yes, SEO is very important and I try to constantly learn and listen videos about strategies. However the algo is way stronger than my efforts. I'm also trying different things, like: - growing my instagram account to advertise my video there too; - the majority part of my videos are in italian, and using Reddit is not that useful 'cause it's really not popular in Italy; - I comment regularly to channels that I love, so hopefully someone will be curious about my contents too; - I use both TubeBuddy and ViqIQ. The only option that I see now is to try again the paid ads of RUclips...
............. and you did not ask me a question, I only came back to prove a point. The other advantage is that most people have videos set on auto play. So whilst typing this out and thinking what to type, the video is giving you more views and watch time. Also notice that you ❤ too many videos, I think doing that cheapens the experience, especially if you see lots of hearts. I do ❤ you Brian.
@@KnottingKnots I wanted to follow up with you to see how many of these tips have you used? How many new subscribers and views have you received? On the hearting comments stand by the data. It works. Plus why not heart good comments showing love to your viewers will never impact you in a negative way.
Been watching you for sometime now and started implementing your stuff about a month ago. Very different from what other similar channels are preaching. Love your advice about tags. Thanks, Brian!
I found you through a RUclips search, and I think your content is amazing! I thought I was doing everything I possibly could to get views(besides paying for ads), but now I know I haven't. Thanks so much, I'm going to use some of your tips!!

I always try to check your video and implement your strategic on my channel. I reached 100 subs club in only one month. As a new you-tuber its grate for me. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us.
I am seriously increasing your session time :) I am watching all of your videos one by one!! Your videos is seriously helpful, entertaining and keep my attention!! Watch this space one of these days we will be in the top of our niche thanks to you!!! Thanks a mill Brian
Your tips helped me grow my Pathfinder Second Edition channel. Engaging with the community and having sincere and well-written discussion that prompt a conversation carries over to Facebook groups. Those users then recognize you and you continue to engage with them, answering their questions or seeking their advice, honestly. Then when you do have new content out, you can share it with that Facebook group and you now have an army of word of mouth supporters and evangelist. However, this takes effort and you have to really care, which is what you should be doing anyway idealistically. Bottom line, word of digital mouth.
This is one of the best videos on his topic that I have ever seen. My channel is in a slump right now. I will implement some of these changes and see if things turn around. Thanks!
Thank you very much for your useful information. I'll add some more information to my about section and change video titles using the headline analyzer!😃👍
I will have to watch this video more than once, to retain all the valuable information. I am headed over to look at audience retention, and will add a card of one of my, high view duration videos, to a popular video, to create more watch time, watch time, watch time.... Thanks so much this is the precise info I look for, Thanks again!
Hey Brian thank you for the insights. Do you think youtube evaluate the overall quality of the channel? Let's say I have good quality videos with high retention sessions, but some videos don't rank well (poor video quality and seo). Does this poor videos make any difference on my ranking factor? (sorry for the poor English)
Absolutely. RUclips does focus on each individual video. But they also consider your channel as a whole. Of course, every channel is going to have some videos that do better than others, which is normal. So I wouldn't worry about a few bad videos.
Yes, somehow. I was just saying on another comment I have a google account over 10 years old with a channel that easily gets views compared to other channels on other accounts. And the irony is that the oldest channel I put almost zero effort into. Just off the cuff, quick n dirty, random videos.. thousands, sometimes 10s of thousands, of views.. I bust my butt on my new channel, put together an alright video (which is packed with very valuable information), and often times it does nothing.. at all.. even with posting to twitter, facebook, google+ communities, optimizing for SEO, having good images, good streaming quality, good audio, description.. It just doesn't matter. Basically I need to learn a lot more video editing tricks and techniques and start making my videos a hell of a lot more engaging and entertaining. It's unfortunate but you have to keep people from being bored. You might be telling them the meaning to life, the keys to unlocking eternal happiness, but God help you if your video isn't just WOW OMG amazing in terms of how it's cut together and polished. Likewise I see channels that have extremely amateur audio, video, bad lightning, lack of detail, just run on rambling streams of consciousness, just totally pointless content.. And their channel will have like 1.8 million subscribers. It's actually pretty depressing. But, such as life!
Your working hard in your RUclips channel, keep it coming no matter how many time u think of quitting don’t quit continue and u will succeed, God bless you and have a nice journey
My inspiration does not work every time when I want to be creative with titles but I will definitely try the facebook preview method. Thanks for the ideas, Brian!
Hi Brian! :) Thanks for this video, I learned a lot :) These are very helpful advice, but what can I do, If I'm the only one in my country who makes a certain type of videos? So there are no popular or other channels, who makes videos about the "behind the scenes" of RUclips and RUclipsrs, and I don't know how to find the right keywords/tags, because I guess people are just not interested enough about these topics, but I want to make this topic popular. Another "critical factor" is that I make my videos in Hungarian and not in English so I can reach a smaller audience, but I really want to reach them as I can. Do you have any advice/tips about this?
Brian, thanks very much for all of your videos. I've been integrating a lot of your tips both in Google and here on RUclips. It's paying off for sure here where some of my videos move quickly into the top 3-4 spots. I especially appreciate the information on designing/building your channel. We spent a week actually putting some thought and design to our channel (there was no thought and no design before) and have gotten a lot of positive comments in just the first week. We are busy updating some of our old videos to utilize a lot of your tips. Thanks so much - what great resources you provide!
Hey Brian 😁 thank you. Was great to see you use the headline analyser too - when I remember the magic happens 😁. I will be doing a little channel refreshing and checking out what other people in my industry are posting about. As they say, there's no need to reinvent the wheel (although I totally find myself doing this! 😂). Thank you again & keep up the awesome work ❤️💕💖👍
Great video. I am going to review my homepage and see if I can optimise it, and I am also going to work on increasing session time. Thanks for the awesome vid.

And since you helped me so much with my videos, I thought I would reciprocate. I hope that other creators do the same. Keep up the good work! Mike
Hi Brian! Just discovered your channel. I am very new at all this so thank you for the amazing resource. I am not sure if this has already been covered in the comments here so please bear with me. I had to learn the hard way to read the subreddit rules before posting. Most of them will ban you instantly if you promote your own content. That publish time thing is really shocking, will try that with my next upload. Thanks for the great tips, they really help a lot 😊 PS: I gained a lot of subs by just replying to every comment on my winner video, I followed this tip from your last video 😃
Utopian X8 I'm shocked too. I never post at a certain time, but looking back posting at around noon has worked out the best. I thought it was a coincidence until now. I always thought 1st thing in the morning was best!
Hey man! I think you're awesome. I watch you're videos over and over to see if I can retain all the info. This is really good! I have a quick question about your scripting and video content. Do you have a script? (of course you do) what I mean is, do you memorize it, read it, study it? Or you have small short notes? Or a a set of pictures? Like a story board.... Anyways Thanks for everything man!
Im sitting at 117k views a month... trying to get 500k to 1m a month. It took about 2 years to get 117k a month and it seems like it snowballs a little. You don't get anything the first 6 months but you start to notice trends in your niche and what you should be producing. It took 10 months to get first $100. Then 6 months to get the next. Then at least $100 each month after that.
Awesome RUclips Tips Sir ! Your RUclips & Blogging Tips Are Helpful & Amazing. This Tips Help Me To Understand "How To Work Properly & Grow On RUclips". Thanks For Such Amazing Videos !!!!! ☺ 🖒
Thank you SO much for providing content with actual evidence to back it up! I really appreciate someone providing us with this type of information instead of the same anecdotal stories.
Thanks again for these tips! I have kind of an odd question here. My channel (this one) is based on metal guitar tutorials anything related to metal guitar and recording. However, I do a series once a week called Metal and Beer. It's basically a metal guitar lesson and then I share what beer Im trying after the lesson. It just dawned on me though, that maybe that series could be confusing RUclips in regards to what my channel is about. Do you have any suggestions? Should I kill this series and just focus on the other? I don't get a ton of views (100 or so within a few days) on the Metal and Beer vids.
Thank you...yeah, the few that are regulars like the Metal and Beer series. I get anywhere from 5-10 comments almost right away on those and I respond to all. As you suggested, I'll work on the deeper strategies for my other vids. Thank you again man!
Thank you very much for your tips... Surely I will try these also...

Thank you for the great tips Brian. Really helpful - specially the headline emotion checker :)
Don't just reply to every comment! *Ask a question to get them to come back and answer!!!!!*
Good call. That can definitely work too.

Do you have a script? (of course you do) what I mean is, do you memorize it, read it, study it? Or you have small short notes? Or a a set of pictures? Like a story board.... Anyways
Thanks for everything man!
You're welcome. Yes, I use a script + teleprompter

No problem Jason. If your audience is liking that content, I wouldn't change it. I'd focus more on SEO for the videos that aren't part of that series.
Thank you...yeah, the few that are regulars like the Metal and Beer series. I get anywhere from 5-10 comments almost right away on those and I respond to all. As you suggested, I'll work on the deeper strategies for my other vids. Thank you again man!
Fantastic video! This is the first video I've seen for this channel, but I'm subscribed now because it was just that damn good :)
Thank you!
