I agree that in the U.S. we need to follow the law. But in this particular case, there is strong evidence that this payment was made to hide the story from Trump family. If that is true, then it is NOT breaking the law. It may be a poorly written statute, and it's awful morally, but that's a different issue.

Who was he married to when he raped Carroll? For him, it's just "another one bites the dust." This case with Hope Hicks is highly unusual. She wasn’t called as a hostile witness . Hope was brought up under a subpoena by the prosecution. I feel she is going to have very conflicted feelings tonight . From the pictures - not sketch artist - I’ve seen of her she appears to have aged beyond her years since she worked for Trump as his “ Aide De-Camp “ as it were . I feel for her albeit I’m not a Trump supporter.

While a Class A misdemeanor in New York carries a sentence of up to 364 days, a Class E felony can result in a sentence of between one year and five years. Right there in the indictment son.

This lawyer is not very bright based on what he says. He clearly doesn't know the law here. Her testimony actually makes the case that there is no crime, because she said that Trump wanted to keep the story from his wife, and that destroys the claim that this was a violation of campaign finance law, (even thought there was no violation of that law to begin with regardless of what the reason given was), because any payments done for personal reasons in not a campaign expenditure, and can't be paid for with campaign money, so this clearly doesn't violate the federal law Bragg wants to claim was violated.
