      She's from Benin a tribe called Foah they say Akwaabo) means Welcome, but am very sure the song is inspired by the word Akwaaba in Twi language in Ghana

    Akwaaba means welcome in the Ghanaian local dialect called Akan.

    saw Ms Kidjo play in Roanoke a couple of months ago, best show ever! Even though she didn't sing either "Gimme Shelter" or "We We". Still, awesome. Thank you, Ms Kidjo!
