First off, yes he understands her demons now, and I can see why he empathizes with her more. That being said, it is complete and utter bullshit to say that it's always worth saving a relationship with a parent who has done irreparable damage to you, regardless of what their relation is to you. My children have cut out their toxic abusive felon father for the crap he has put us through. I know for a fact that if he was on fire they would bring more gasoline. He has a restraining order for very good reasons and it will stay that way. If a relationship is toxic and detrimental to your health, there is nothing saying you have to keep it for any reason. When I was 5 my mom left and me and my brother stayed with our dad who was an alcoholic and drug addict and never worked and would leave us alone with no food or utilities for a couple weeks at a time. He was abusive and told us anytime he was around that he hated us. I started taking jiu-jitsu classes behind his back as a teen and when I was 17, I watched him smack around and throw my 1 year old brother around his crib because he was crying. He went quiet and was bleeding and bruised up. I beat the living fuq out of my dad that day and took my brother's and left. I haven't seen or talked to him since that day. My mom either. I'll be 30 soon and there's some things that a man still needs to talk to his father about and it sucks not having that. I have 6 year old daughter and she means the world to me. I've never put my hands on her and I've only raised my voice to her a couple times. She's a sweetheart and a great kid. I could never in a billion years think about leaving or hurting her. It was a vent song that he felt was needed at the time cause at that time he was sick of his mother's bs. "I'm sorry Mama I never meant to hurt you" is basically saying in a way 'I'm sorry, but this is what I have to do to put your bs behind me cause I'm done'. Which I think it's a powerful message that all of people can relate to. But with that all being said I'm glad he was able to put all of that behind him and proud that he's able to forgive and still wanna be with his mom despite everything that's happened cause that's something that not a lot of people can do. It just speaks volumes on how much he really cares regardless of the situations before hand which is also a very powerful message as well.
I think that's one of the greatest things about his albums is you really see the growth not only in his talent but also him as a person with each album. Wham song IS it
So many excellent ppl out there that can bare children and here we have an undeserving so call “ mom” smh
Blud cleaning out my closet is my fav song
Bro that was one of the first songs I listened to that he made and I know how to rap it too like I was not expecting him to not like it
When you get sober, you regret the stuff you did and said. I hope he found his peace.
Cleaning out my closet then Headlights I grew up the same kinda age well he’s 4 years older than me I love that I witnessed everything as it happened! The guys a legend!!!
Nothing is too far when it comes to authentic self expression. If EM wrote it back then, he meant it. Looking back it might feel like too much, but this is precisely why it was necessary. Because at that time, the shit he had to endure was indeed too much.
To be fair that song still hits hard it’s so good
Whenever you listen to cleanin out my closet you have to follow it up with headlights to get the whole picture
That's actually one I expected 😅
You can't take back words from out your mouth even if you rap about the war you can't take it back
"all resurtch is from headlights"
Eminem has become an intelligent , kind mature man ❤
Honestly I related to both those songs headlights especially when my mom got sick and is now gone.
That's why you should think about everything you do before you do it and never act on impulse.
Jordan peterson "cleanup your room"
you will never escape me. I am everywhere
I Feel sorry for Eminem. Even what they represented in the movie "8Mile"was a fairy tale compared to the life he really had. It's real pain.
For some People age bring reasoning forgiveness is for everyone that are welling to correct there mestakes ❤
You're right!! My jaw dropped so far. I just can't believe it!!
Ita a great song and I understand the story life but it's his only mom in the world ofcourse there's forgiveness ✨️
It was from rage guys!
NO one would like the abuse his/her parents did to to him/her...or getting
called spoiled from his/her parents!
Who can blame him? Parents aren't supposed to be so abusive.
I love the shit out of this song.
one of his best songs 😔
I didn’t have to finish the video to know it was cleanin out my closet but it honestly kind of sucks that it happened to their relationship glad they were able to reconnect and his daughter could see her grandmother
Having a strained relationship with your own mother is though to go through.
My nephew loves that son bc his mother wasnt there for him and alot of kids like him love taht song so he should think about that too
That’s actually one of my favorite song from him actually my favorite
That’s my favorite song too…😢
I love cleaning put my closet thats my number 1 Eminem song
Nathan in foster care that is really sad
I can understand em hating his complicated relationship with his mom and wanting to repair it, me and my mom had a rocky relationship the difference is I’ll never be able to repair it because she died in 22’.
« It’s not the one you would think »
Immediately thought of that one
as someone whose favorite song from 2-6 was cleaning out my closet this makes me quite sad
With age, comes understanding. Maybe he is able to better understand how drug addiction makes you do some horrific things to others.😢Lessons learned, and they don't come cheap.
