Great video!! I love this figure so much. I often look it up online. I wish I could afford it, but they are so expensive. Talos is my favorite Harryhausen work.
We really are living in a golden age of collectibles. Not that long ago, a recreation this accurate simply wouldn’t have been possible; or so expensive that you may as well try to buy the real thing. Now, even excluding beautiful labours of love like this, so many collectible figures are gorgeously detailed and works of art in their own right.
So John and I understanding correctly that there's a standard and deluxe set ? The Argo boat is just as fantastically made as the figure. Side note : I love the creaking/groans sound effects of the metal they did. It amps up the scenes especially when Talos starts to awaken.
My wife and children bought me the statue for my 70th birthday beautiful statue got a dim light faceing him as it gets dark saw the film wen I was ten with my two brothers first time for us and wen he turned his head and got off his plinth and the scraping of the bronze.well we all looked at each other my brother said to me with our jaws wide open in amazement at wat we just seen he said did the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and the 3 of us said yes . I have the film on tape and i know it’s coming wen he gets off his plinth but my hairs on the back of my neck still stand up .I always felt sorry for Talos .ive ordered one of him kneeling on his plinth from planet action figures in October £318 but it still hasn’t arrived yet emailed them about 5 times and all they say is another two weeks another two weeks. I think I’ve been conned .

Good luck with that. They’ll probably tell you the same thing I’m about to. It’s meant to be like that. Check the scenes from Jason and the Argonauts. Only briefly glimpsed but his back is clearly concave I’m imagining the mould makers for this figure knew what they doing.
I must say, having owned 9 other Star Ace Harryhausen replicas, I am most disappointed with this one, especially with the defective sunken in back that completely warps the entire model's form. It looks like the model flopped in the oven....completely flat and crushed in from the shoulders to the hips. Any advice on how to get Star Ace to reconcile this?
hi john, is it possible for star ace to release the model bases that come with the super deluxe ones as kits too for people who brought the kits instead of the deluxe ones like this base with the sea and cliffs please. they included the base with the medusa kit of the soldier and fire cauldron but wondered if they could do the others like this talos base too and say the one of the sea and cliffs for the kraken model kit as a kit
@@WalshBros please can you suggest it as people who brought the kits and have no bases or accesories would gladly pay for seperate pieces. i know i would for parts as kits id like for my models

Yes two versions at two price points. Yes I agree the sound fx and music really brings Talos alive.
Juat ordered the model kit.. Shame the base wasn't an optional purchase... But I'll sculpt one, figure looks great

@3:10 is the back of Talos meant to be concave, as in the original movie model was like that?
I ask as it looks deflated and caved in to be honest.
It is not. I'm sure it happened during shipping. Vinyl can be a bit finicky but will return to its original shape with the help of a little heat.

I agree but sometimes it is a cost and production issue.

If you mean the back, it's a fault. Sadly a lot have it. Mine had a slightly sunken spine, but after a bit of heat, it's fixed.
