Geebz!! Thank you once again- it's always a pleasure to hear (and see) your analysis in action. It's been such a while since I've done this that having a person comb over it with such a keen compositional ear really feels like a new experience. You also pretty well described my "boom-chi-ga-boom" orchestration process 😋 Lots of love, Ben/Earthside
A Dream in Static is a crazy, crazy album. It's like a master's thesis on modern prog metal with an ensemble cast of incredible guest vocalists. Not a bad song on the entire record! The title track with Dan Tompkins on the vocals is one of my favorite tracks of all time!
I've been plugging this. I talked to the Earthside guitarist Jamie, and he wrote it for a full orchestra, rather than attaching an orchestra after it was made. Hell of a composition.
I found this album when I was in a depression and it was truly an experience to discover this at that moment in my life. Truly a masterpiece of an album. Got me through dark times
What up Geebz! I'm ready for this one. I'm super stocked! You're right the song is only an instrumental. The skill set is insane. Might as well kick back relax and grab a coffee and enjoy the show. When I watched them play this live the chorus part with the guitar strumming quickly really struck a cord with the audience and drew everyone in. The pocket was as small as your thumb. This dude's control of the sticks is mesmerizing
Love this band. Have seen them live twice and they are really nice guys. There is also a drum playthrough that has Baard (from Leprous) also. You should watch the music video for the song on your own. It is very creative.
Oh geebz you totally have to do a “Born of Osiris” song. Their song “Poster child” would be sick but would love to see ya decompose any one of their songs! 🤙🏻
GREAT playthrough, and this is an instrumental! This is the group I suggested that teamed up with the Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra but wrote a FULL orchestral score rather than having them play parts for the band. Rare to have a prog metal group write for a glockenspiel, but there you go. Also fun fact, that lead "chorus" line was part reverb but partly by hand. Frank Sacramone is doing that by hand so he can change the two pitches it goes between in some parts. Here is him explaining that part. ruclips.net/video/LUfbanhmZww/видео.html

Indeed, this entire oeuvre should be taught to future musicians. It's so good!
Im pretty sure the first time I heard the intro, i was brought to tears 😂 they must've hit that magic chord with that first heavy riff
Their song Crater with the vocalist from Soilwork (Bjorn Strid) is fantastic. Not so proggy but really captivating.
Never heard of this band, and I have been a huge fan of Soilwork since Stabbing the Drama released! Going to check this out now.
My favorite track on the album. I'm a little biased, Soilwork is my favorite band.
OH yes! I love me some Earthside
Blake Richardson from Between the Buried and Mehas an incredible playthrough for Never Seen / Future Shock!
This track really grabbed me. Gonna deep dive into this band now.
Still hoping you do Earthside's Mob Mentality ft Lajon Witherspoon and Moscow Studio Symphony Orchestra. Such a well composed masterpiece.
Isnt that the Sevendust vocalist? He has such a great voice, I will definitely check this out (:
@@burningtheevidence8038 sure is. he sounds so good in the mix too. i was impressed.

Hell yeah! saw these guys live in November!
They have released a few singles. I'm hoping for a new album at some point. This band and Native Construct are my top 2 bands with a single album.

Song is All We Knew and Ever Loved.
@@Kelly.sapphire He already made a reaction to that video
I highly recommend the closing track of their debut album! It's called "Contemplation of the Beautiful". So much emotions
Best song on the album, for me. The vocal performance is just mesmerizing.
Thank you Geebz
Nice to see you do these guys again

Jeeeeeesus i clicked this SO fast!
You are missing The gem of " We Who Lament " from this same band Earthside, trust me, you won't regret
Jesus Christ. Few days ago i was thinking about you to do reaction to this

Here is him explaining that part.

Ben reminds me of Gavin Harrison, the band reminds me of Porcupine Tree.
I love and hate the way his snare sounds.
