As a Dane it is interesting to see how relatively big and popular floorball is in Sweden (and Finland). Here in Denmark floorball is basically a tiny sport and it is almost only in the town of Frederikshavn (it´s where the ferry goes to Gothenburg) that they really care about floorball. But I also find this sport pretty entertaining, so I guess that the sport will grow both in Denmark and also worldwide. I did know that Sweden are normally the best in floorball, aren´t they? So it must be a big disappointing for them to lose at home to Finland. But well played by the Finnish team.
@Zimonz Sure. I feel the two teams will meet again later in the tournament and they have pretty comfortable quarter finales both of them. The first game had prestige, but was not decisive. But still I think the Swedish crowd had maybe expected more from their team. But there is still time for them to take the gold.
@@JuventinoDOC33 What the actually fuck are you even on about? the swedes didnt even play bad... and tbh its finland ofc they gonna be great. any other team I agree with you but this nope you are delusional and frankly pretty disrespectful towards finland cause they are amazing to.
@@tonttaana8930 Yes, it is strange how different sports are much more or less popular in certain countries than in others. For example handball is big in Spain and France, but tiny in Italy (but lately it is becoming a bit more popular, to be fair). And yes, handball is huge in Norway, Denmark or Iceland, but small in Finland, where you love both floorball and ice hockey. Basket is huge in Lithuania, but handball is tiny in Lithuania. I can´t always figure out why certain sports become popular in some countries, but insignificant in others. Another example is badminton that is huge in Denmark, while in the other nordic countries they don´t seem to care much about it. Table tennis is also bigger in Sweden than in Denmark or Norway. I could also mention athletics where Finland, Norway and Sweden have done great, but where Denmark has always been way behind the other nordic countries. On the other hand, in Denmark we are obssessed with cycling, much more than in Sweden or Finland. But also in Norway cycling is pretty popular....
Is it just me, or is the Swedish roster a bit lacking in the power forward category? Feels like we could have used a couple Martin Karlssons and a couple Henrik Delborns yesterday in the physical game...
@@choiie "allows for much more nimble ball handling" That makes no sense. Sounds like a rationalization of the status quo, rather than first principal reasoning. (Humans are VERY prone to this particular form of cognitive bias. Also known as sunk cost fallacy.) If shorter sticks made for better stick handling then we would see deficient puck handling in the NHL where players get to choose their own stick length. But we don't. Hi lights clips are full of amazing stick handling. Plus, there is the obvious advantage for shooting power with a longer stick. Both for wrist shots and slap shots. (If slap shots are banned for everyone in floorball that's fair, I don't see a problem with that.) Shorter sticks force players into an unnatural crouch where they can't use their body motion in the most natural way. We see this effect especially in field hockey where the sticks are even shorter and many players are crouched over with the ball. Longer stickers would probable make for a more beautiful game of floorball AND field hocky. Plus there is a natural advantage for shorter players who don't need the longer sticks which will disproportionatly discourage taller players from participating in floorball. More likely the rule stems from over cautious safety considerations or some quirk of tradition no one wants to change. And yes, I am a retired curmudgeon with nothing else to do.
@ not saying ice hockey players do not need to be proficient stick handlers but the way floorball works you need to be able to very rapidly move the ball/stick left to right and the longer would prove far too clunky in practice, favouring defenders who can just poke and steal the ball too easily with their long sticks.
Sweden ( my country ) usually win in this game but if my country lose I am ok losing against Finland . I want the finns to be happy strong successful and growing.

tbh 1 game cant really define who best and whos not and to be fair its 3-3 in games between the two.

Sweden better in 1st period, then Finland took over more and more. Sweden with several unnecessary penalties that was costly.

They played for avoiding Czech Republic in the semi, now Finland has the easier way to the final, and Sweden might lose in the semi.
The short stick rule is a silly holdover from field hockey. When I was a kid playing road hockey in Canada we chose our own stick length.
I can guarantee you the inventors of floorball had never seen let alone touched a field hockey stick
@@choiie Then why the stick limit rule? Ice hockey was the mother game. There you get to chose your own stick length.
