My excavator weighs 12300 sometimes I have attachments that can put me upwards of 14k pounds. I’m a little confused, can I legally tow the 14k or am I only allowed for 10k because of the trailer weight?
A 14000# gravity tilt trailer will weigh about 3300# or so empty, so roughly 10700# payload, and then you'll pick up a bit of tongue weight to the truck. For commercial duty cycle users, I don't recommend counting tongue weight to leave a safety buffer. You'd be legal on a 16K tilt (tandem 8K axles)m but would for sure be at the upper limit of it. We also occasionally have some triple axles, which would give you a buffer. Here's a link to our in stock heavy duty equipment trailers (16K+ GVW) available, tilt's will be towards the bottom: www.bestchoicetrailers.com/all-inventory/equipment-trailers/16k-weight-rating
We had a 102 50-foot trailer it broke I'm looking for something that we can haul Dooley's on preferably 102 2 car would be great problem with this nice-looking trailer is fenders are in the way any suggestions and no we don't have $25,000 through out there
Go to our website, www.bestchoicetrailers.com and look at our Gooseneck Car Haulers under the Inventory>Car Hauler>Gooseneck Car Hauler section.
BTW - The fenders are removable, and this is not specifically designed for cars, hence the Gravity Tilt "Equipment" trailer. A gravity tilt equipment generally has taller 12"-ish fenders as they have drop axles to enable a low load angle, whereas a car trailer, including tilt car trailers, will almost always have a straight axle, with a 8"-ish fender, which would allow most all car doors to open over the fender (although many times they will also be removable).
How do you mount an electric winch?
Typically on a split deck tilt you'd put a plate up front and a roller on the front of the tilt. The trailer is equipped with a stop valve to prevent it from coming down.
Can you put a winch on it? If so, where?
Generally a power tilt - yes, not so much on a gravity. Technically you can as it has a lockout/stop valve on it though.
What are you asking
