I work 17 hours a week! My partner works full time. I used to get overwhelmed with homemaking on my own and what helped me on the rough days i will set a timer 15 minutes for each room ♥️ i only work 7pm till 11pm 3 nights a week and 6.30 till 11.30 on sundays 😅 also i have a toddler she goes to day care thursdays and fridays and those days are my pamper or get it all done days as i used to struggle with ppd. I am also pregnant again 😅 so definitely important to delegate with partner my toddler is too young yet but loves to play with my cleaning tools and does help a lil 😅 ♥️ i learnt to not be hard on myself and deep clean a new section every day only one section as my daughter is important 🥰
I am so happy I found your channel!! I am much older than you are....66, but I am a widow who is going to be married again at the beginning of next year and in my previous marriage (sadly, he passed away 6 years ago after 35 years of marriage) I was not the best wife at all, so I am trying to learn even at this age how to change my ways and be a Godly wife. I will have to keep working part time, but it won't be bad (Door dash) as I will have flexible hours and he said he would help me with anything I need, but I just needed encouragement as I would MUCH rather be a stay at home Homemaker. Thank you for all the info, it is helping a lot and I cannot wait to check out ALL your videos!! God bless you!

Hello, Abigail. This is Dale (aka Papa) from the Old House. I just wanted to take a moment and commend you for the great words of encouragement and advice for working homemakers. I also wanted to add that hard working homemakers don't all work outside the home. Many years ago, when our first child (Breanna) was expected, my wife (Claudine) and I prayed and felt God telling us that He wanted her to be a stay-at-home mom and raise our kids as well as homeschool them while I brought home our only income. (This was despite the fact that she had a bachelor's degree for teaching and could have brought home a larger paycheck than I, who had no degree at the time.) It hasn't been easy (you mentioned it takes sacrifice) and it has come with lot of "faith building" ups and downs (not the least of which has been losing/gaining multiple jobs) which have taught us much about His goodness and faithfulness, but by God's grace and providence we have raised 4 kids here in this old house and I attribute the bulk of that to the strength and determination He has given to my Proverbs 31 wife, which describes her so perfectly. She is a God-given treasurer in my life as well as our kids' life for the way she has maintained our home, taught our kids, budgeted our finances, and so much more as my help mate, friend, and love. I can say with all honesty that it is a true blessing to have such a homemaker living here, and I have no doubt (based on what I've seen in your videos so far) that God has blessed Brent in the same way. I pray that He continues to bless you both as you continue navigating this journey of marriage, keeping Him at the center of your relationship and looking always to Him first in every decision and step you take, inside and outside your home.

Newly wed here, thank you for the encouragement and advice 💛 Working part time at a busy job and part time homemaker - often get disheartened not from the lack of time to get things done but from what I feel like is a lack of focus and self discipline! But this is such a lovely, comforting video and a good reminder not to be too hard on myself. Life is a process and it takes time to build a home 🏠 I particularly appreciated your advice on changing clothes between jobs to give some mental preparation - will try this next week and see if it helps. ps. you have such a pretty accent, I love this voiceover style of video!
