it's the latest generation of sr20det introduced in the jdm nissan xtrail gt. It has variable valve timing, more revvy than a sr20det and much more expensive. :) It can make 10.000 rpm when finely tuned.
Sr22 means it is a 90mm sleeved sr20det. They use the factory crank, most people do. BC makes a 2.4 stroker crank that paired with a sleeved 90mm block = a monster sr26. Put a vvl head on that. And get it ported. Follow my Instagram to see a sr26vet build. IG s13redtop
that isn't entirely true, you can go 2.2 using a stroker crank and rods which is what I'm doing, i plan to run 45 psi on my ve motor, last thing i want to do is run that much boost with a 90mm bore
Also might add that the BC 2.4L stroker is a combination of the BC 2.2L stroker kit which is 91mm stroke X 87mm bore, if you use the 91mm stroker crank and rods in combination with 90mm pistons instead of 87mm it brings it to 2.4L. The Powertune S14 runs the same stroker kit, same guys who built my VE motor, I have never seen or heard of a 2.6 stroker kit for an SR20.
just VVL head on a DET block. almost like Vtec for sr20. the VE head came out of mostly NA FWD Sr20's the heads are p11, p12 and 8H6, but also out of one Turbo motor (out of the Nissan X trail). If you want more information, check out en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VVL_engine.

I saw sparks at the end!
Sr20VET is from a Nissan XTrail in Japan! Which produces more HP an Torque than a Sr20DET
@monsterGAUZ Nissan never had an SR motor over 2.0 liters. If they are calling it an "SR22" then it has to be 2.2 liters.
this is fucking awesome!
@h2v7simon its the whole point the vet head is nissans take on the hondas vtec and the sound is hevanly!!!
no need for smoke grenades anymore... sr22vet ftw!

@monsterGAUZ Well as long as he doesn't know better, because it's definitely not right.
