  • After testing the Tamron 28-200 for the last 4 weeks in Alaska I am impressed. This lens is great it's really really great and I don't mean just for an all in one lens. This is a real world test of the newest lens from Tamron for Sony A7III A7RIII and A7RIV and other APSC or Full Frame e-mount Sony cameras. For the last few weeks I took this lens with me everywhere and filmed everything with it. The Tamron 28-200 for sony really is a fantastic lens for photographers and videographers who travel and explore the world. This lens actually does make it possible to take just one lens with you everywhere and still take great photos and video. It's sharp and a great zoom range and works well in low light especially at the wide end of the zoom range. It's small, light weight, durable and affordable. If you were only going to purchase one lens I would highly recommend this one!

By far the best lens review I've watched. It's unfortunate that the accident occured but you were a lifesaver. Tamron should appreciate your work and do the necessary.

That's an amazing story about how a Tamron 28-200mm lens saved the life of an stranded climber. From now on, I'll be carrying a Tamron lens everywhere I go as you never know when you may be in need of a rescue. Thank you Tamron!

unfortunate for that gal, but lucky for you to catch that on film. And really lucky for them that you were there.

Wow. This channel is incredible. I found this video searching for 28-200 reviews by working photographers/videographers and just wow. So thrilled to have found your work.

What gets me about this lens is that it's like having a 28-70 2.8-4 with extra optical zoom to 200, then there is also the clear image zoom.

Wow, great video Jake! Not only was that good info on the Tamron 28-200 lense, but what incredible footage for shooting the live action drama that unfolded before you! Great job, and glad you were in the right place at the right time!

Another great video Jake......Made incredible by the rescue footage. Man those chopper pilots are something else. To hold that chopper steady, 15 feet from the rock face, in that weather.....Amazing.

Thanks for the review Jake and for your action. I love the ability to use the crop in on the A7III as well (video at least). A trick I used to use when photographing events years back was running with two cameras; a full frame for wide and med med telephoto lens’s and a crop frame with a 70-200 to get an extra reach as needed.

Great practical review, thank you. I have the 17-28 and 28-75. The 28-200 looks ideal for carrying on holiday, as the sole lens, to the deserts of the western US.
