Look up Kobe Bryant touching the top of the Backbord he touched the top
Why are people saying cause hes tall. It dosent matter if he was 7ft5. Touching the backboard is not easy what are you guys smoking on lol.
That’s amazing
Whats your standing reach

Mine is 7'11 😢
Isiah u got comp 😂
@@TOPLEVEL1how tall are you?
If you can get a video of him taking a quarter off the top of the backboard, it would break the internet!
75 years of folklore of people doing it, and finally it actually happens for real on a legit hoop!
next time!
@@DunkademicsOfficial let's go !!!!
For me I would like to see him attempt a double eastbay on 10. If anyone can do it it's him.
@@icyboy771z nah u need even more airtime i think. i think isisah rivera has the best shot of doing it
@@Richi_MTB If he can reach 13 feet he def has the air time. Just that he need the hand speed to go through the legs quickly twice.
Btw Jared Roth has the closest attempt I've seen on 10. He got the ball over but wasn't able to flush it down properly.
Only thing i really focused on was how high his head was over the rim, and i know im not the only one
the side angle looks crazy as far as how high his head gets
@@DunkademicsOfficial 0:37 is the only angle which matters, cuz it shows that his eyes are at rim level at beast, when from the side camera view it appears that his neck or even left shoulder is above the rim which is bullshit like the record at 0:37 proofs... the reason why his head looks so high from the side camera is cuz the camera is below the rim + he is closer to the camera then the rim, when from the other point of view 0:37 him and the rim are almost side by side at the same distance from the camera.
@@PlatinNr1 but you're forgetting that in the angle at 0:37, he is actually further away from the camera than the rim, meaning his head appears to be lower than it actually is...
@@DunkademicsOfficial strictly speaking he is still closer to the camera, cuz he is right in the middle of the screen when the rim is like 1 meter sideward from him. so if you would measure the distance, he would be closer to the camera even closer then the front part of the rim, which you are talking about i guess. but beside this just look at the backpart of the rim which is attached to the backboard, then you get an approximate direction how high his head is. so it might be the nose at best which would touch the rim in this record.
you're thinking about the distance incorrectly. if we're talking about what is closer in a straight line, he may be slightly closer, but if we're talking about the only dimension that matters (y axis if we look at this like a graph), then he is further away than the rim.
It's just weird that you're trying so hard to be negative on these videos of people doing amazing things just because you don't like one aspect of the videos.
Dude really did something that has never been done before, and all you can think about is camera angles, which have nothing to do with the record that he set. Camera angle doesn't change how high he touched.
I'm reaching 11ft as a 6'2 and i feel like i'm high tier but Kao is on another planet, he exit the atmosphere
That's still impressive. Obviously, that means that you dunking easily
He’s 6’10 tho
@@JamaelJunior he's 6'9,and touching 13ft is more impressive than 6'2 touching 11ft. Both is more than me tho so great work

This man touched like 13’2” tbh. He had some fingertip over that. Wild stuff man.
12 foot Kao dunk session
would be epic! wish we would have had an adjustable rim that could go that high for this session
Bro is like a my player build
Shoutout to y'all on the detail y'all took on making sure the haters want come for backboard height!
So given his standing reach is around 9'2, and his jumping touch is casually 13'2, he has at least a 48 inch vertical at 6'10. I think this guy could possibly test a 50 inch vertical which is insane at that size.
Reach is 9'3, so 13 feet would be 45...he def gets a little higher than 13, so probably in the 46-47 range
Same like Shawn Kemp
Im so blown away. Now I believe Wilt Chamberlain did it aswell. I will bever trust the haters again.
I always liked 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🙏. It doesn't matter the camera angle. A feat for few mortals. Congratulations! 💪🏽👏🏽👏🏽🏀
That man should try a 12 feet and 6 inches rim dunk
Imagine that reach vs Kareem's "unblockable" skyhook
I find it so annoying how there are literally multiple camera set ups, multiple angles of the same video and there are still people in the comments saying “it’s not 13 feet” or “he’s tall so it isn’t impressive”
there’s always gonna be someone hating
My favorite is when people say "he should be able to do that" because he's tall, even tho no other tall person in history has done it...makes no sense
@@DunkademicsOfficial For real though, this is like a special case of height plus insane athletic ability, definitely not gonna be seeing another person doing this in a long while
Thank youuuuuuuuuu
Arms for days, great hops still though. I remember the progression, backboard, rim, dunk, then forehead. The amazing part is what they do during the flight. Love it.
So awesome to finally see someone do this for real. What an athlete.
His head gets where my hand gets on a good day
Look his arms lenght bro, thats insane
This is gonna go down in history
Great athlete, what he's doing is he can jump high but he's also stretch his shoulder-joint out to extend his reach even further.
I almost can't believe what I'm seeing. KAO.
Hey dunkademics, your group has over a dozen people over 12'6" and a few over 12'9" up to 13'0". I was just curious why you were going in so hard on Wilt Chamberlain who was said to be able to do this?
Because there is no evidence that Wilt could do it, and I don't think he was even close to it.
From what I've seen of Wilt, he couldn't jump higher than 34 inches, and he would have needed to jump 42 inches to touch 13 feet. It's hard to believe that he could magically jump 8 inches higher when the cameras weren't rolling
@@DunkademicsOfficial There's quite a bit of footage that shows his hands near the top of the backboard and even if we account for angles, the hand is still very close to the top of the backboard. This is in games, where you won't have max hops because you will be more tired. I have to believe he could get 40 or slightly higher in his prime and perhaps when he got knee problems and heavier it may have dropped down to 35"... However in pro volleyball he slimmed up, i guess took pride in a more trim physique, he must've cared more about nutrition, there must be footage of his hops in volleyball.
You really think Wilt, in his prime, had a max running vertical of 34”?! That’s a joke now come on
I said when he got old and fat with the knee problems it was probably 34 or 35". When he was lean and in his prime his running vert may have easily been 45" or greater. Remember he was a Collegiate champ in the high jump so he could elevate, especially off of a run. @@letsssgooo4618
I am so happy right now.
Pretty cool to see his entire head above the rim while getting about a 13ft touch
Amazing. But interestingly I have yet to EVER see one of these type of dunk / jump videos where the camera is at rim height. Why?
Did you watch the whole video? I had my second camera on top of a ladder, on top of a tripod for this...
The reason you never see a camera at rim height is because nobody on earth is 10ft tall
This looked legit. Don’t worry. Amazing!!!! Thanks for capturing it
Damn this man is an a another planet ,he very tall and had i think a 45 inches vert probably ,absolutely an alien

Legendary
Crazy long and he’s got hops. First time I’ve seen it done.
Folks, it doesn't matter how tall he is. Most seven footers CANNOT do this. In fact, I only know about Wilt's legendary leaping ability that enabled him the quarter feat. Even though I've never seen footage of that, I believe it, especially after seeing the man do the high jump, as well as other track and field events, with ease.
So effortlessly 😮...is he a human?
Dwight Howard had the highest reach on the backboard at the NBA at 12'6 inches (Source: Sports Science)
This guy is literally broke the WR at the NBA touching 13 feet
Insano. Ele simplesmente deu uma de superboy a sair voando 😅
Dudes reaching to the heavens on that shit 😮😮😮😮😮💪💪😀😀
This man is as long as a giraffe. What the heck.
Yoooo this is so high
Brutal
Unreal
Who is that MAN
My guess is that this guy is jumping about 47 inches to touch the top of the backboard. I'm guessing he has roughly a 9'2" standing reaching so he needs 10 inches to touch the rim, 36 more inches to get to 13 feet (top of the backboard) and an inch to spare to knock down the tape measurement. Just a rough guess...based on his standing reach. (which is likely more than 9'2" than less if I'm wrong) Extremely impressive, especially for a 6'10" guy!
And how is he only averaging 4pts? The fuck
Wow that's incredible can't argue with that, he made it look easy as well unbelievable!
I reakon LeBron, Mcgee and Dwight could have touched it on that kind of setup back in their prime. Maybe Wembanya could get it?
Nope, Dwight tried and could only get about 12'6"
LeBron could probably touch somewhere around there also. Not sure about McGee exactly, but definitely not 13.
I'd be curious to see how high Wemby could get, but don't think it would be 13
@Dunkademics Official I think Wemby can get pretty close, he pulled off an off the backboard eastbay a few days back in warm ups. Even discounting his height and length, that still takes some legitimate hops.
I wouldn't dare say he actually can, though
@@aedaed3605Wemby’s mom was a Long Jumper so he probably has some good jumping genes in him! Maybe that will show in game
That was with ease.
"Did you got it?" :D

Somebody please sample “that was with ease” into a beat.
he's really tall and his arm span is ridiculously long! I can picture him closing out and blocking 3 pointers at will lol
What's his name and height?
Just my opinion--I think Wilt Chamberlain could have easily done this as far back as his college days at Kansas.
Wilt Chamberlain one-step vertical reach ruclips.net/video/DERGa_zy_io/видео.html
Nothing we have of him on camera suggests he could jump anywhere near that high.
In all of the footage available, there isn't one single example of him jumping 35 inches. He would have needed a 42 inch max vertical to touch the top of the backboard.
So unless he magically jumped 7-9 inches higher off camera...I just can't imagine he ever touched 13 feet
@@DunkademicsOfficial It's just my opinion, and I could be completely wrong (although I don't believe I am). What specific videos did you reference, and what was the methodology for coming up with your conclusions? I am not saying you are wrong--I just want to know what you did to arrive at that conclusion or if you are just stating an opinion--as I am. While there may not be direct footage of Wilt Chamberlain touching the top of the backboard, it's important to consider the limitations of the available footage and the historical context. The footage we have is just a fraction of his career, and the technology used to capture games needed to be more advanced. Additionally, vertical leap measurements were not commonly recorded during his time. Wilt was known for his exceptional athletic prowess and physical attributes, and testimonies and anecdotes from teammates and opponents confirm his unmatched athletic abilities. So, it's plausible that he had the leaping ability to touch the top of the backboard, even if it wasn't captured on camera.
I agree with you…I think Wilt could do this too!
Every time I post this, I get blowback from know-it-all younger guys, but here it is: I saw Wilt, on live TV, in 1962, do a halftime exhibition where they put a 50-cent coin on top of the left corner of the backboard (same spot where this Kaodirichi guy touched), and Wilt jumped up and picked it off on the first try. He also palmed a ball, jumped, and put the ball and his arm through the hoop all of the way up to his armpit and pulled it back out. He did this twice. So, yes, when Wilt was a young guy, he could touch the top of the backboard. I saw him do it.
webenyama is gonna cry
Why isn't the high reach an official track & field event? High jump is cool and all, but think the high reach could be an even cooler event since it incorporates both the freakiest athleticism and physical characteristics. I could see it getting beyond ridiculous and entertaining real quick
Side view... duke actually jumped so high, he could have put his head inside the rim if it was situated as such, crazy!!😶
But can he dunk?
Don’t think we forgot Billy😑
i cant recall which nba player but one did touch the top of the backboard. Dominik may have done it too. But this isnt the first for sure,
Damn was badass!
Get him to legitimately take a quarter off the top of the backboard. That would go viral
This not good enough for you. Are you a Roman emperor or something? This was amaze-balls!!!!!
Hey Billy, I’ve commented this on two of your other videos but wanted to give it another shot. I have two dunk ideas that would be new, but I think doable sweet dunks:
1. Super Dwight Tap: Instead of doing a Dwight tap from the side, go straight towards the front of the rim (approaching from the top of the key), jump off two feet, ball in two hands, throw it off the backboard WHILE in mid air and catch and dunk. Almost like a “bounce dunk” but off the backboard. Difference from normal Dwight tap is you are slamming it off the backboard from distance. Anthony Hamilton could kill this. Variations would be how you throw the ball. You could slam it off the glass with two hands, or throw it like a football.
#2 Over/Under Dunk: Approach from the side. Jump off one foot. While in mid air, release the ball over the hoop, and continue under the hoop. Catch the ball on the other side and dunk it in. Jordan Southerland could kill this. Variations would be how you catch the ball. Could dunk it two hand reverse, or 180 in the air before catching.
Let me know what you think!
the second dunk has been done off 2 feet (Michael Purdie first)
The first dunk has been done before, but iono how far you are wanting it to be from
@@DunkademicsOfficial Thanks for the reply! I’ll have to check out Michael Purdie one. Hopefully it’s on video.
As for the Super Dwight Tap one, Think of it like approaching the front of the rim for a max height 2 foot, 2 hand tomahawk. Nothing special about distance. Then in mid air you chuck the ball off the glass super hard so it bounces back, you catch it and slam it. It would be a really fast process, but would look really great.
Alley oop hall of fame
DAMN!
how does he make it look so easy?
6'10 + long arms + lots of bounce
Tell the eagles I said hello up there 😂😂

Earl!!!
You angled the camera up as usual. Why not hold it level with the top of the backboard?
Hopefully you're just being sarcastic...
but if you're not...how on earth do you expect me to hold the camera at 13 feet? lol
I put my second camera on top of a ladder, on top of a tripod...that's the best I could do.

No matter how high you jump, if your arms isnt as long as Mr. Fantastic. 😂
Only thing you can do to not get blocked, is the Steph curry layup or floater
Thats insane! Can Jerricho Sims come close?
Yup, Jericho Sims' vertical is pretty similar to Kao's, but Kao has longer arms, allowing him to reach higher
I’m guessing sims could get somewhere north of 12’5
pause at 0:30. If he'd have caught that it would have been slick. My AD from high school would have lost his mind if he saw this happen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A peine croyable. Un coucou de FRANCE 😲👍
Don't forget
The fact that James White, as incredible a jumper as he was, couldn't come close to touching 13' when asked to do it on video gives you an idea of how insane this is. The fact that he did this w/ ease is truly incredible.
Ya James White was still a few inches away. Limited by a much shorter reach than Kao.
That's what makes Kao so insane is that most people his height don't have that much bounce. The people with verticals in the high 40's are typically the shorter guys, who don't have very high standing reaches
Kao has the whole combo of height, long arms, and vertical
6'7" Gerald Green might have been able to do this. He had a 45"+ vert.
@@a-a-rondavis9438 I think the only other person that has a chance is Jericho Sims. There's a video of him trying to touch 13' & he's maybe 1.5" away away. It looks like he might have boosted hiimself a bit, but there's other videos of his head much higher above the rim than on this one, so I think he was more protecting hiself.

Sims is 6'10" w/ a 44.5" vertical measured in the combine - the 3rd highest in history - higher than Gerald Green who maxed out at 39". I think Sims actually has a little more bounce than Kao - Kao's reach is apparently 9'3" vs. Sims's 8'10" - w/ an extra 5" of reach Sims could hit 13'.
@@a-a-rondavis9438 Gerald Green had a ton of bounce, but his standing reach wasn't high enough.
Kao is 6'10 with a 9'3" standing reach, and about a 46 inch max jump
James White was very close like 2-3 inches away on video
That wasn't his best jump either he tested a 13'3 touch in a vert test
Ya they said that's how high they got the vertec...it just wasn't verified with an actual measurement.
I think he can definitely get over 13 feet, because he got this with ease. I'm just not sure exactly how much over 13

I know the video, and I know the people who put on the event. They are notorious for never actually measuring, as well as slanting the bar to make the bell easier to touch...
I've seen them be off by close to 6 inches in person.
In this video, they set the bell to the top of the backboard (that wasn't measured). The rim looked slightly low in the video, meaning the backboard would be low too (maybe 12'9")
Then they also slanted the bar, lowering the bell...so what they called "top of the backboard" may have only been about 12'7 or 12'8"
I guess touching da rafters next huh dunk

Due to the fact that he can or almost touch the backboard while standing, the backboard is 42 inches. His running vertical is about 40-44 inches only. Impressive for his height but not a record.
His vert isn’t the record. Touching 13 feet is.
The record is for touching 13 feet. Nobody has ever done that.
