The dude can jump - but that rim is somewhere between 9-9.5ft ... look at the backboard. The black bar at the top is around 6-8 inches above the top of the backboard. If you look at the backboard at the other end of the court when he throws his own lob at 0:58 - you can see there is no gap. It's obviously been lowered.
Measured the rim before we even started dunking. It is 10 feet. We also measured the top of the backboard at exactly 13 feet. Everything checked out. Everything is legit. Your comment is nonsense
It's clear this guy is jumping very high from looking at this footage, but the clear view of filming from level with the rim at the right distance would give a much better picture to see his jumping ability.
He's got the physical advantages (length and freakish athleticism). Now he has to continue to improve his fundamentals. It would also be great if he becomes a two-way forward and improve his timing and shot blocking skills. He'll be swatting a lot of shots with that jumping ability.
Some of it is intuition, but a lot of it can be learned. It's about what dude wants, though. I hope he does work it out, but if he wants to make some money as just a crazy dunker, that's not so bad, either.

I wish that instead of putting the camera down low to exaggerate how high he looks the video guy would at least once put the camera at rim level, so we can see where his head is relative to the rim. Kao had his approach vertical measured at about 47 inches. For reference, the world record for approach vertical is 50 inches. The NBA Combine record for approach vertical is 48 inches, the next highest being 45.5, then 44.5....So Kao would have the 2nd highest approach vertical in NBA combine history at 6'10, which is nuts. Most people his height aren't breaking 40 inches
I highly doubt most of the Wilt athletic accomplishments are legit. We have enough footage of Wilt to get an idea of how athletic he was. And of all the footage we have, Wilt never jumped higher than maybe 33-34 inches off the ground.
