I’m going to remember this every time I have to drag a whitetail hundreds of yards through the thickest stuff imaginable. That was awesome. God Bless...Joe in MS
I totally agree with you. I'm more a conservationist being a hunter, I haven't hunted Canada or Alaska but I have hunted in Wyoming and can appreciate everything about the harvesting of majestic animals. We all need to give back 10 fold of what we harvest. You sir are a very hard working but very fortunate man indeed. Great videos!
This is such a uplifting channel to watch. I wish you upload more videos , but realize that takes time away from other projects and productive work you do around your homestead. I really enjoyed watching this one.Unbelievable how that goat just tumbled straight down that mountain into lake! Thanks for sharing Jeff.I always get a a lot of laughs out of Jeff & Dave chating together. Its always like watching two scholars.😀😀 Take care till next time guys.
totally love your videos. your girls and family impress me darn near every video. just finished watching the mountain goat, bear ate your boat. only thing i could ask to include in this video is the "Full Circle". show us the recipe, cook it and eat some. thx for all the Vids.
Thank you for keeping it as real as " RUclips " possible, I love the Jeff and Dave show after each video adventure. Best regards as always from Lloyd somewhere here in Southern Ontario Canada 🇨🇦..
Excellent! Watching this while resting on bearskin. Most people can only grasp one aspect of hunting. Our appreciation is on a whole other level. Keep it up Jeff, Rose and girls! My kids and I love that you’ve invited us to join you in your journey.
@@Gridlessness im sure many things are "easy" with you around Jeff! Hahaha. Your videos are much appreciated. Our whole family loves you guys. We always say that I'm you, and my husband is Rose. She is much prettier of course! Maybe 1 day we will cross paths! If you ever come to Idaho, we want to know!
That was my exact question, Dave! Why are they hanging out there? There wasn’t even anything growing there.🤷🏽♀️ Dave: “You’ve had five children.”🤣😂🤣 Stealth pants!🤣🤣🤣 Man, this is real life Breath of the Wild! Which is probably the closest I’ll ever get to doing this... Great shot, Jeff! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful country.❤️❤️❤️
congrats on your goat! Awesome way to get him to the boat! I spent 14 days hunting my goat. I lost 35 pounds, and it was a brutal physical experience! It was ALL I COULD MUSTER physically to hunt them. I wasn't adequately prepared the day I got my goat. I put myself into a position where I got hypothermia and extreme dehydration pretty bad by the time I got my goat back to camp! I was losing all my co-ordination, and cramping up horribly! It took me 4-6 hours to fully warm up in my sleeping bag at camp with my hunting partners feeding me hot tea, instant noodles and energy bars! I was concerned for a while! My sleeping bag was a bit wet, so it made the insulation a bit less effective. What an experience!!! I could not enjoy the goat meat after that! I am not sure if it was the experience of smelling the wet goat on by back pack while getting so physically compromised, or what! All I know is that it was a bit traumatic that day! "BUT", the scenery, the smell of the air, and just the atmosphere of the mountains was beyond my wildest expectations! I could never handle that kind of hunt anymore, but am so glad I did it when I could! In retrospect, I loved the experience! Once again, congrats big time on your prize!
Dude you are crushing it with these videos. The lifestyle, the adventures, the wife, the kids, the experiences, the freedom, the creativity. Let me just sharpen the knife now and end my pain and suffering.
Amazing it didn’t break one of the horns as it rolled into the lake! It looked like a Billy goat to me walking around up there. I was quite surprised that it was not.
Just wanna say that amazing dead goat rolled down that mountain..got back up to help u guys out ..leaped across a half dozen ledges, and saved you guys a ton of work!!😅 And even took a bath for ya'll! Excellent work!!
Thanks for this part of your life experience. Its was incredible to see the goat hunt then the bear topped it off. Well except for listening to you and Dave. Thats always the best part.
That was great, those are experiences that stay with you for a life time. Reminded me of a deer we shot that ran towards where my truck was. We found it on the hill beside the truck, if it had taken one more step it would have been in the back of the truck. Thanks for sharing.
Just like the song, "Hey man, nice shot ". You have a wonderful life up there in Canada. Lots of hard work always pays off. Congratulations on your nice harvest.
On Kodiak island Alaska, many hunt the beaches for Sitka black tail deer, they come out on the tide flats to eat, shoot them and simply load them into a skiff, mainly to get out of there before a big Kodiak brown bear shows up! They hear a gunshot and actually go to the area, like ringing the dinner bell for them! True story!
It's always a bitter sweet moment when you take the shot. I always felt sad for the animal but knew it would feed me and my family for weeks or months to come. I never had one deliver itself to my pickup point though. That would have made it a ton easier. I did get one deer 30 yards from my house door though.
you were right about the encounter though. hunting and harvesting give a appreciation for wildlife in general, something that folks that purchase their food from a store will never quite understand. A farmer understands and appreciates what he grows. A hunter learns to appreciate what he hunts in a special way because he also understands what it takes to actually Harvest and hunt. Teaches respect.
You all definitely live an interesting and adventurous life! I hunt and fish a lot way down here in Kansas, USA, but don't have opportunities at the larger animals that you have. So I enjoy all of your videos! Keep 'em coming as often as time allows.
I can’t believe you guys made it up that mountain to begin with.. that thing looked steep very steep.. pretty dedicated hunting I’d say. At least you didn’t have to pack the goat down.. all of you may have ended up in the lake.. yes conservation is extremely important..
What else do I want. I want bacon lol. That is probably the bear that chased me and j off the mountain years later lol. I give you credit Jeff going all the way up their for the snow flake of the mountain. Great job. Beats packing down to mountain.
You guys got easy goat. I had to pack it back up 350 yds, then down the other side of mtn, and spend cold night in rain soaked griz country with goat meat in pack stored 20 ft up tree, (protects meat from griz but not hunter) mtn goat meat is pretty good.
Wow gota love those lake goats especially when they go to the lake for a picnic ,and them pet bears I’ve never seen anyone chasing bear what happens when he turns around? We dont have any of those animals here in New Zealand .its cool to see them
What you said at the end, those who do not hunt are not conservationists. They do not understand this. At the beginning it was said you have 5 children, teach them this, the respect for the animals that they hunt, butcher, and eat.
The hunt, cabin, no noise, not many people and fishing looks like heaven.
I’m going to remember this every time I have to drag a whitetail hundreds of yards through the thickest stuff imaginable. That was awesome.

Been there done that, and don't forget trying to get him over the fence!
I like Daves expression at the end. That, "Last Call!" face. Very serious. And he stuck with it too.

You might be the greatest hunter ever. You killed, tenderized, and washed your meat all in one shot.
@Babba Ganoush HaHa!
Hahahhahaa good one Mark!
Plus me pretty much got it delivered to him off the mountain!
@@Idahoprepper71 Very true! UberEats is for Amateurs. :)

Wow. That's hunting eh, sometimes its like fighting a war and other times its like grabbing something from the fridge.
What kind of animal would be big enough to block out the cabin light? Hmmm..... Gotta love it....
You have such a wonderful life , good for you👍 Hello from North Bay, Ontario.

Again impatiently waited for your videos was so glad when I got your notification. Keep it up👍👍👍👍

Love the videos great channel
Bears are extremely smart. I’ve noticed when they’re yelled at they actually look and listen and kind of linger longer if the threat is not real.
I love hunting and you are a good fisherman👍👍👍👍
Wow you are one Lucky Dog. To harvest a nice mountain goat before you even get to your camp. Wow. Look like a nice spot to pan some gold. Lucky dog.
looks amazing. Marlin Perkins would be proud. 🐐
