I'm gonna miss your videos. Since you don't have a name I'll call you Chase. So happy to hear that the man you got to safety is recovering from his surgery. Have a great summer and I'll look forward to your videos next ski season. Thanks for the entertainment this season.

Hi Mary, thanks for participating. The skier I helped recovered but no need for surgery. See you soon.

Now I'm retired all-being-well after a 35 ish year break I'll be trying skiing again next season as a mature beginner, as I've more or less forgotten what skiing is like. If at the end of my week and first holiday I can safely make it down an easy blue run, I'll consider that a win, and a base to further improve over subsequent holidays.

Really glad to hear you're giving it another go and think your goal of skiing down a blue is achievable. Just need to get comfortable with snow ploughing, turning and stopping. I don't think it's difficult but this type of skiing is harder on your legs and muscles so I would recommend doing leg excercises to strengthen your quads and thighs. Take everything nice and slow and just get comfortable with it.

I'm similar, low intermediate and going back after 30 years. Just try modern skis at an indoor snow facility. Then reassess your ability. You'll find you are better than you ever remember!

What a great playground. I'm not a big fan of bumps, especially with end of the day legs, but that wide avenue and village at the end has gotten very familiar. Do you stay in the alpine villages or rent nearby?

    • @ChasingSnow

I like the runs through the village, they are not that common. With accommodation it really depends, sometimes in the village, sometimes out. I would sometimes get a house for a month surrounded by resorts but lately I've been doing q lot of van life.

Great video. Which Gopro did you use?

    • @ChasingSnow

Used the 11, I bought the new 12 for this season but has no GPS, so I'm using the 11 again...

How did you put the the sidebar on the video that shows the elevation and also the grade was that part of the GoPro or was that a program you used.

      Thanks, I enjoy your videos!
Too bad you didn't go to the summit of Orelle, to take the amazing red Bouchet or Coraïa.
Also from Val Horens to Orelle the red Maurriennaise is one of my favorites... I should go back there 😉
