Reasons why you love this scene:
- You realize here how loyal Zoro is to Luffy as his vice captain (and also Sanji)
- Zoro doesn't need anyone to see his dedication so that he is not appreciated for doing the heroic thing but instead laying his life down for his captain
- You see just how much pain Luffy can actually take and will take all for the safety and well-being of his crew

@@dontworry3763 i won't say it's doubled because Luffy's pain always the most pain compare to everyone in all arcs. But the fact Zoro take both Luffy's pain and his too is crazy because not like Luffy , Zoro isn't rubber.
@@windwhisperer1000 Luffy being rubber is a major factor in his durability, even still now while fighting haki users. It's brought up so many times by Oda so you know it matters. Zoro feels everything raw.

@@windwhisperer1000 that's fair, but I think double damage is more than fair in my opinion. When garp hits Luffy everyone is surprised it hurts him at all. That's easily cancelling out more than double the normal damage of a punch. Again, in my opinion. No hate here friend.

The translation is more closely to be like, "Nothing, you got it?" Meaning if anyone asks sanji bout it he says that nothing happened.
Yeah, completely deviates from the emotional tone of the original. Nothing happened is more accurate. 何も (nanimo) literally translates to "nothing" while なっかた (nakkata) translates to "wasn't there" or "happened"
Honestly they both convey the same message but I enjoy the Japanese myself.

A lot of people tend to forget that Luffy being a rubber man means that blunt attacks don’t affect him like they would other humans like Zoro. Combine all of the blows he suffered as well as all of the shadows put into him and you see just how much Zoro really went through.
thinkinjg about that hurts me imagine having all the pain of blunt hits cancled for the time being and at the end of the day all the pain from the blunt attacks and dmg hit you at the same time fuck it just hurts thinking about it

Thats just false. IF the attacks didnt hurt Luffy then Zoro also wouldnt have felt them. Since what he was feeling was Luffys pain. Whatever pain Luffy didn't feel due to being rubber Zoro also didn't feel.

When luffy gets hit, it doesn’t hurt him but his body still absorbs the impact, the rubber just disperses the energy throughout his body which is why physical affects are ineffective. Oda deliberately shows Moria stomp repeatedly on Luffy, and that impact has to go somewhere. Luffys body just tanked it. So zoro felt all of that too.
@@blankborne7737 and it wouldn’t make sense for zoro to have not taken that damage, because that would mean all he was hurt by was the gear second drawback, and the affect from the shadows. And Kuma literally says “All of his damage from his battle with Moria” so yes, zoro took all of that too, even if luffy himself didn’t feel.
This moment, Zoro convincing the crew that they cannot just accept Usopp back so easily at Water 7, and when Luffy leaves Pica to Zoro during Dressarosa, are some of my favourite moments in this anime. Love seeing Zoro refer to Luffy as captain as well.

I just watched episode 377 for the first time. This is probably the manliest thing I have ever seen in my life. I been having goosebumps for 10 mins straight and been trying to hold back my tears. Decided to watch reaction compilation to ease these feelings down a little.
It's just that, This is so well written. Zoro is probably the most loyal fictional character I have ever seen.

Yall have to remember luffy is rubber. That does not make him immune to attacks butg it does nullify them in a way. Luffy's pain was amplified when taken in by zoro's body due to luffy not experiencing it the same way.

Kuma extracted luffy pain and fatique, not the force luffy was hit by. That means luffy feels all of that too. If luffy feels nothing, that bubble wouldn’t be that big. It’s just his bone can’t break and his vessle harldy bleed, but if it could hurts him, that would’d been hell for sure.

People usually forget that this is not only pain, but also fatigue and damage. Luffy took all that, but being made of rubber, his body could take much more fatigue and damage than human muscles.

People can't understand that the pain Luffy's taking is so immense but thanks to his rubber nature he doesn't really feel it. Imagine taking just a fist on the head from Garp !
It's also the fact that we truly don't know what happened, we got a taste, just as Zoro did and then we were left with "nothing..happened". We can all use our imaginations on the pain, but all that is a difference (btw every single persons pain tolerance of knowledge) and that plays on our enjoyment of the scene and writing. BA in the story, BA in the writing, BA overall.

Zoro is so badass, i would watch a whole series about him where he plays dora the explorer.
