Cold War has the most odd choice of animation style There's Hollywood MW19 style. There's a stiff robotic style. There's a smooth style. There's arcady style. then there's normal. And a mix. Goddamn i might as well say that this game has a very inconsistent animation.

The fact that the aps "ugr" underwater rifle is featured as a ground assult weapon, while the real one was only permitted in use above water in DIRE emergencies because of it's extremely short lifespan above the water line, is funny to me. Also the magazines aren't entirely correct, it's lacking the extended rear baseplate for the main spring of the mag. The real one features what is effectively a standard ak style magazine, but with a much enlarged front side to give space for the extended harpoon, needle type bullets it uses.
The carv 2. Looks alot like the kraut space magic rifle, the g11. However, it uses what sort of looks like the steyr acr fléchette magazines, which are quite small in comparison to standard stanag ar 15 mags. The weapon also takes some visual ques from said steyr rifle. The carv is a strange Combination of two firearms, but the real life counterparts it is based on both competed in the us army's acr rifle program during the late 80s.
Considering the circumstances and the time this game was developed in, Treyarch couldn’t have possibly released a fully polished, finished game. They had just around a year or less to make Cold War, and had to do it during the Pandemic which made things a lot more difficult. You can tell this game was unfinished due to how buggy it was at launch and the quality of weapon animations being inconsistent.
The game was made in an extreme rush needed to integrate into mw19 engine and it was made during entirely during covid. I’m surprised this game isn’t bad cuz this was basically an impossible task.
11 months of development vs a full 3 year cycle developed game from Infinity ward, and treyarch still did a better game lmao. Animations ain't everything buddy.

Most feel very "stiff-armed" and "tense" as if the operator were trying to keep their arms as still as possible.
I just really like the simplicity in COLD WAR, not that hard not that smooth. Its perfect on its own.
