      A friend showed me this movie for my first introduction to Square Enix anything. I felt like I'd just been thrown into the middle of a narrative (because I was). Because of that, I didn't have any reason to like the characters. I didn't know them beyond their fighting styles, and Tifa rubbing me the wrong way. Years later, I saw Crisis Core. I liked Crisis Core because it started at the *beginning* of the narrative.

    "Dilly Dally, Shilly Shally" is essentially an attempted translated version of the sound someone makes when carrying something heavy, which in the japanese version is the sound Tifa makes.
    What Tifa is essentially saying is that Cloud weighs himself down with the mistakes of his past and carries it with him as extra weight and that is what holds him down.
    Which is why later in the film Cloud when Cloud returns to the final fight, saving Tifa, he tells her that feels light, and implies it must be cause he got rid of that "dilly dally shilly shally".

    Sephiroth: "I will never be just a memory"!

  • @ohgoditshimrun1346
    @ohgoditshimrun1346 4 года назад +72

    The thing to understand about Sephiroth is that he's a Lovecraft protagonist, who spent too much time alone in the library and realized that he is the monster at the end of his book. And after he died, the part of him that was human returned to the Lifestream, while the part of him that was Jenova remained. The black cloaks who marched themselves to death at the Northern Crater were all under his control. As Cloud had been to deliver the Black Materia to him.
    All of Hojo's test subjects for the Reunion project were "Sephiroth copies", meaning puppets for the Jenova-ghost of Sephiroth to control, or even to manifest himself in their flesh. And it was shown in the original game that as their sense of self diminished, Sephiroth's hold grew stronger. And vice-versa.
    And the longer Sephiroth was dead, the more inhuman he became. The more of Jenova's power he was able to wield. Until the end of Advent Children, when what remained of Jenova within the Lifestream was purged (not counting Lucrecia, because she wasn't in the Lifestream). And so, what remained of Jenova was too weak to allow him to affect the world after that point in time.
    But Jenova is a Lovecraft eldritch horror, not particularly subject to mortal laws of physics. And so it is that Sephiroth, who remembers failing in Nibelheim, failing at the Northern Crater, and failing in the sky above Edge, who has gone back. To convince Cloud to leave Midgar before he remembers the truth. Because of all the bodies that Sephiroth can wear, Cloud was not only the most powerfully mako-enhanced to accomplish his puppeteer's goals with ease, but also the only one who had an anchor able to pull him back to himself. So Sephiroth needed to change history, to remove Cloud from the board, and claim a different piece in his stead.
    Thus Zack survives in the new timeline.
    Whose superpowered body do you think Sephiroth was wearing this time around?
    And what do you think Sephiroth will do when Aerith can get through to him?

    I feel like you missed the point of the story of AC. Cloud isnt "moody", that's called being in a depression because of what he saw as his past failings(IE letting Zack and Aerith get killed without any way to stop it and having some element of survivor's guilt because he was very happy with Tifa and Denzel), which by the end of the film he had to get over...which he did with the help of Zack Aerith and Tifa and Denzel. Hence the entire ending scene of him seeing off Zack and Aerith letting go of his regrets and moving on with Tifa and Denzel...
    Advent children in itself isnt about the overarching plot of the FF7 world nor is it intended to be. Its but an excuse to delve into the characters minds and feelings after the original game(Especially Clouds.) This makes sense considering the original vision of AC by Nojima and Nomura was intended to be a 15 minute short detailing the relationship of Cloud and Tifa and them musing on Cloud's musings on Aerith and Zack and his emotions towards moving on to the future. It was expanded into a bigger project following the rumors of the project blowing up online and SE heads wanting that sweet FF7 money

    • @KageSakura
      @KageSakura 4 года назад +24

      This.
      Also I think it's misunderstood because it turned into something it never planned to be and yet it failed to say it's not a direct sequel to the game but a project. Then later on they just kept expanding on it making it more confusing. The multiple novellas besides the Kids Are Alright are the prequels to Advent Children. They are related to each character needing to resolve something related to their story arcs in the original game. On The Way to A Smile, which is the name of the series for instance implies that the end goal is Cloud's smile (accompanied by it's own score) , resolving his guilt so he can finally lead a peaceful life (This is identified as his Promise Land being able to live on with his friends and family) This is extremely significant as it ties up his entire character arc. Fans who know his story see he finally got closure and Tifa's dilly dally line makes perfect sense. We're seeing how he finally was able to move on from the many issues he has in the first game. It's actually a really good story. I like how they did that.
      but
      The execution and the way they presented it was terrible. It was first released unfinished. Then stuff was added but still not explained at alk. On the surface it looked cool. In reality it's really really important plot wise yet no one knew what it was.
      It would make more sense and make more money if fans weren't so confused. If the reference to the novella arcs themselves had been included somehow in the movie. They were completely left out and even with Complete released it was still missing huge chunks of how this happened. Considering Case Of Tifa is so short and explains why the heck Cloud is out and about, dying, refers to himself as a delivery boy and has a kid now I think they would have made more money leaving that in and baiting fans with the promise of more lore in the other novellas and the case of Denzel OVA.
      Instead they confused people and barely anyone knew of the Compilation until a lot later.
      Still as a die hard fan of the original game I really appreciated it and it got me into the lore of the Compilation in the first place.

    • @vincentgraymore
      @vincentgraymore 4 года назад +27

      I found this "moody" Cloud to be realistic in the ways you explain. I also never saw a romance between Cloud and Aerith. He takes her death hard because it proves how useless and powerless he was and that all his failings lead to deaths. The fact that Sephirot did the killing only enforces his insecurities and while his mind is repaired somewhat that is different from living with the guilt, which AC is about. He wants forgiveness for being weak, not because he mourns a romantic relationship, despite being hyper strong and suffering from Geostigma. He wants to get it from both Zack and Aerith and somewhat gets it in the ending of AC. It is a messy anime way but at least a coherent and relatively simple story, unlike the FF VII remake.

    • @KageSakura
      @KageSakura 4 года назад +11

      @@Fenris30 Well yeah, that's kinda of a spoiler. But that is not why he's depressed. He's depressed in Case of Tifa because he remembers his survivors guilt of not being able to save Zack and Aerith. He's happy until then. He doesn't get Geostigma until the end of the novel.

Because, as you so aptly pointed out, all of their stories are lackluster as Square's intent with all of them has always been more about selling the audience on the game franchise than telling a cohesive stand-alone story. Lost me when he said the music was a problem with the remake. Lol. The music was the best part. I mean the game is terrific but the music is probably one of the best soundtracks ever made for a game. Up there with Final Fantasy 6 or the original FF7. I would argue that in most cases the Remake soundtrack far surpasses the original.
    My take on it is that the Sephiroth we see (in Remake) is actually Sephiroth but actually Advent Children Sephiroth. A couple of things that lead to this conclusion are the fight with the Whispers, their moves and abilities are direct representations of the Remnants from Advent Children. Not Tifa, Cloud and Barrett as some have suggested. This would also explain why Sephiroth seems to know what is going on, He has moved back in time to attempt to stop his defeat. Another clue about all this is when Cloud meets Sephiroth (and Sephiroth is visible to everyone) in Hojo's lab, cloud grabs his left arm, the same arm with the geostigma in Advent Children.

    • @shinzero0271
      @shinzero0271 4 года назад +5

      It got confirmed in Ultimania that those Boss Whispers were the Remnants. They even turned into Whisper Bahamut Sin.
      I'm pretty sure the Sephiroth in Hojo's lab was that clone though. He specifically mentioned 'reunion' there and the post-AC Sephiroth from the end doesn't even seem interested in Jenova or her plans at all.
      Cloud definitely hallucinated the clones as Sephiroths at points, but that could be because of the OG Sephiroth (who should still be in the Northern Crater) resonating through them as he's still a 'failed' clone. Here though, we specifically see that clone not only use Masamune to fight off whispers, stab Pres Shinra, and Barret, but take Jenova, fly to the roof, then jump off with Jenova in hand after dropping the Sephiroth guise.

    Recently rewatched Advent Children because it was ages since last time I saw it. Turns out I got my hands on the expanded version which helped a bunch to make sense of stuff. Over-all, though I was surprised by A) just how damn basic the plot is, considering how confusing I found it the first time, and B) that it's _really_ all about Cloud getting over his massive, _massive_ guilt complex for having failed to save Aerith.
    Seriously, that's the actual main conflict. From a thematic perspective it's more of a psychological drama than an action movie and if Cloud hadn't been so busy avoiding his smoking hot girlfriend and the kid they apparently adopted because he was feeling sorry for himself, he could probably have beaten the snot out of the Sephi-clone trio within the first third of the story and been done with it.
    (By the way: "Dilly dally shilly shally" was a somewhat... _creative_ translation of "zuru zuru, zuru zuru", which roughly means "dragging along, dragging along." Basically Tifa was implying that she was fed up with Cloud's angsty bullshit and that he needed to get over it. Which, again, is basically what the entire movie is about.)

    I'll challenge that to some degree. Yes the scene is very much still up in the air and no one knows where or when depending on who you ask will play out during the remake. However, and I'm not sure if you bring this up in the video so I'll edit this accordingly- but the remake series seems to be being shifted around in order to implement all of the content the Compilation has created and decided the remake should actually include those new elements since the original FFVII. Like, DEEPGROUND probably wasn't thought of for the original VII story line until fans demanded Vincent was badass enough to get his own damn game and SE needed a new antagonist for him. Kyrie was a side novel character and you do a whole damn side quest for her! Now how will SE implement all of these elements together, we'll have to wait and see.

    My theory: Sephiroth in FFVII Remake is from the future and used the lifestream to come back in time.
    It seems Aerith has premotions and knows the future. Maybe she was told this from the lifestream. Also in chapter 14 I think that's future Aerith from the lifestream, not alive Aerith. In Remake you learn that the dementors can transcend space in time, and Sephiroth is shown to control them, so it would make sense that he can transcend time as well. When the party is seeing visions of the future, is Sephiroth making them avoid the cannon future because he gets defeated?

Then again this was just stupid. People would know more of what is going on because of the original compilation but in the end, we got something that is semi-new semi-reliant yet said to exist without the old stuff that bleeds into the new all over the place. Classic Square Enix.

You gotta pay attention to the details while you play, dude when the way they fight, their choice of weapon, why they summon Bahamut and their move's name and even their elemental attribute. Especially the hidden conversation with Aerith while she was kidnapped (You are talking through her dream.) Details man, details. not a mere fan theory anymore.

    • @vincentgraymore
      @vincentgraymore 4 года назад

      @@zhaoyun255 Emmm, they have stated that the compilation stuff is not canon for the Remake, right? I know all these details and I have heard them discussed but that does not mean that they are true. The one-winged thing was surely added in AC but that does not mean that it is from AC as it might just be a manifestation that the developer thought was "cool" and used as a reference or even evolution of previous incarnations. The same goes for Kadajs gang. It was stated that the design is based on them, not that it is them and regardless that would not really be the point. Even in an isolated universe, Kadajs gang would exist in the future and a remake is not bound to be a sequel just because it adds timestuff. It does lessen the stakes of the original as it is unknown if this is supposed to even be the same world when there are such additions that break the reality of that universe.
      Also, it is kinda stupid for Kadajs gang to be a part of this at all. Kadajs gang does not really fight for Sephirot, they fight for Jenova and are jealous of Sephirot. They are even suicidal to get Jenova's body but in the Remake they are basically fighting for a timeline that has Jenova's body being destroyed making it unable for Kadaj to remain with "mother". So if we think that the harbinger was Sephiroths doing then it was not necessary at all since if he control that he should already be unbound by fate and if the harbinger really wanted to protect the timeline it chooses enemies to itself and fighters that already lost to Cloud (and if we go by the theory of powerlevel increase in the singularity then the cause was already lost for the harbinger since Kadajs gang lost to a single Cloud, not optimal whole gang). Also, I do not remember the laser beams, Kadajs having a stick rather than a parallel dual blade, Loz not doing his iconic flash step move (that even Reno does in the remake in the church that Loz used those moves on Tifa) etc nor the Gatai into Bahamut which does not look like Bahamut SIN.
      Aerith through the dream is firstly only 1 of 3 outcomes meaning it is hard to think of it as just a hidden conversation. If this happened then you did not get closer to Tifa or Barret.
      It is also necessary to consider the context. Cloud is not head over heels in love with Aerith in the OG, in fact, it can be reasonable to assume that he is not in love at all. Her loss is not the loss of a loved one but rather a loss for Cloud's inner struggle. He wants to be and thinks himself to be someone that should be better and failing to protect Aerith is just as strong as to lose to his influence from Sephirot. He fails because he is weak and someone else dies for it, something that is often used in Anime and something that can hit even harder than losing a romantic loved one. Aerith's death is just one of several failures on Clouds parts and he feels responsible for everything. This is not really confirmed or similar but how many people saw the original but the romance is not confirmed as well. In AC he wants forgiveness for his failure, inaptitude for not being able to accept who he was and how that cost the lives of others (Zacks and Aerith's), not brood over having lost romantic love.
      Regardless of all this, it is not really important to the statement that Aerith does, if we are seeing it from a time travel point because in the remake she seemingly, has the power of precognition, which is not the same as actually knowing what happens and project it backward. Aerith in the remake in the dream is very similar to someone that knows the future but in that very same dream, she also accepts Clouds will to save her. It is mostly just a warning but the saving aspect is in this time in the story on 2 levels if the time stuff is real. One is that they are actually in the process of saving her from Shinra and she could easily talk about how it is dangerous for Cloud to save her from that. Second is that we as an audience know however that this more alludes to her ultimate fate but at this point, we do not know that fate can be defeated and neither does Aerith yet her resolve is incredibly weak. She wants to protect Cloud but she also wants to be saved.
      Also, it is not her dream but rather Cloud's dream and Cloud in the remake has already seen her death and even shed a tear for it even if he did not understand what happened. In the OG when Aeriths project herself into Clouds dream Sephirot joins in. This is all in all very confusing because this makes Cloud some kind of conduit, something that is more prominent in the remake. He has 2 way between both of them. The reason for this is because Sephirot cannot use the lifestream at all. He is not a Cetra, even if he considers himself one. He can only use the Jenova connection and that is something that Cloud has. Aerith has a connection to the lifestream but can also project herself into other's mind and as far as in known she only does it to Cloud. The OG dream is not precognition as she does not mention anything about her fate or death in any way. Aerith leaves to spare the party the burden that is left to her from her bloodline, she does not really know if she is gonna die or not but Cloud is told by Sephirot that she must be prevented from achieving her action (which we later learn is summoning Holy) in that dream.
      People seem to conveniently forget that a major part of Sephirots abilities is that he is locked out of the lifestream. Otherwise, he would not even need to summon meteor and he would not be able to manifest in Jenova influenced bodies. Even if the lifestream is given some kind of omniscience of time and space Sephirot does not have access to it. He is shown to have some kind of tainted lifestream in AC (something people for some reason think is the whisperers even though they are not really similar and lacks the very aspect of being arbiters of fate) but that tainted lifestream does not exist in the OG timeline so even if the lifestream has the ability to send information backward the tainted lifestream did not exist so it should not be able to communicate with the past before it was created. If the tainted lifestream is connected to the real lifestream then Sephirot in AC has won, he should want that fate. He should be able to continue to infect the lifestream and eventually win because the planet does not seem to be capable of countering it if that is the case but we are shown that Geostigma is cured so it is possible that AC really finishes off the Jenova plague but everyone takes the quote "I will not be a memory" as something that means that he cannot ever die. If this is the case then it makes even less sense for Kadajs gang to fight for that future, they are shown to join the real lifestream when they are hit by Great Gospel and probably separated from the Jenova cells. If the tainted lifestream really is the whisperers and that is how Sephirot has access to the past then he has accesses to ALL past and that opens a whole can of worm as such things make it all very convoluted. Just like how the whisperers are bad at their job when they know the past, present, and future but get defeated easily.
      You speak of details but people only look for details that confirm their own theories and often lack the ability to have criticism or want to even consider it. You can always find patterns if you look hard enough but that doesn't mean they are correct. There is a whole discussion in psychology for this and it is rampant in fan communities. Yes, there are a lot of things in the details but that also means that we need to look at what isn't there and what doesn't work and not just focus on what actually works. It is possible that all the intentions are discerned by fans but there is also a possibility that there are major plotholes and even more contrived bullshit added in the Remake. AC was already not very well received because it was to many a disgrace to FF VII. This is why it doesn't really have a high rating. There is nothing wrong with theorizing but there is something wrong with writing for the writers based on hunches and assumptions and calling them a genius. It is like how cp3o in star wars is worshiped by the Ewoks yet he is not near a god. Creative work always gains its own life when released but that doesn't mean that that life is the intended, the original, or the correct adaptation.

      Actually it's a sequel to ff7. Chronology determines this, not what the devs want to claim or what you want to think. Sephiroth is from the future, after the events of Advent Children. That makes it a sequel. They could have left the time travel and alternate timelines out and made whatever changes they wanted. It would have qualified as a remake, if not a "faithful remake" as they claimed it would be. The fact that this is Sephiroth from the future precludes the game from being a remake.

They chronologically placed this game after the events of Advent Children. Here's how it breaks down. The events of the original ff7 happen, ending in Sephiroth's defeat. Then, the events of Advent Children take place, also ending in Sephiroth's defeat. Then, he travels back in time to alter the past, which is where we pick up in ff7 Remake. That makes it a sequel. There is no getting around this fact. It's certainly not a traditional sequel, as Advent Children is, but it is a sequel nonetheless.

    The main issue with AC/AC Complete is probably how a lot of its elements are in contention with one another. They want to tell this drama concerning Cloud being wracked with guilt, but they also want it to be this over the top action movie, with the latter often undermining the other. Both due to taking up screen time that could've been better spent showing Cloud's descent into depression (apparently thrown into supplementary material instead) and because it repeatedly renders Geostigma less and less important and debilitating (a few arm clenches is not enough at all) as the story moves along.
    It's faulty to the point that one of its own central themes is directly contradicted ("You don't have to be alone, we're all in this together, only not really, because Cloud need to settle things mano a mano!"). How the film's problems are resolved also comes across as convenient and takes away from the struggle humanity had to deal with since this new illness came about.
    Also, the whole kidnapping children sub-plot was utterly worthless and unintentionally makes the villains go through what is probably the most time-consuming and impractical plan imaginable. Most viewers probably won't realize the sheer absurdity of it due the film's editing and utter vagueness surrounding everything (only clarified in more supplementary material), but when you stop and think about it, it's insanely stupid.
    Their plan is to round up a bunch of kids in Midgar, take them HALF WAY across the entire world, trigger their Reunion Instinct by making them drink Kadaj's piss water, then have them guide the trio to Jenova's remains... which were located half away across the world... back in Midgar... where they already were at the beginning of the story... and had already suspected where the remains were... IT'S GOD DAMN BRILLIANT!
    Even dumber is how the kids just baffling stand around a monument instead of actually going to the remains' location, emphasizing how much of a time-waster that business with them really turned out to be.

    • @elevate07
      @elevate07 4 года назад +6

      Another problem with this movie is that the more you understand about FF7 the dumber this movie becomes. The explanation for the Reunion is that anything with Jenova's cells in them will be compelled towards Jenova's host body. In this case Jenova's missing head. So why do Kadaj and his gang of transvestites need to kidnap a bunch of kids to find Jenova's head when they themselves have Jenova cells in them? Find Jenova yourselves you lazy assholes!
      What makes it worse is that the kids ended up being wrong. Rufus had it the whole time. Wait Rufus? Didn't he die? Well apparently not. And that's another problem with AC, the way Shinra is presented. I know it's left up to the player whether or not to murder the Turks during the Midgar raid but Shinra is responsible for every tragedy the party has experienced in their entire lives. Reno was the one who bombed the Sector 7 plate and killed everyone Tifa knew in Midgar. She and Cloud should hate their fucking guts even if they begrudgingly worked together in FF7. And yet Reno can just call Tifa on the phone. They have each other's numbers. Did FF7 even happen or are Tifa and Cloud THAT forgiving?

      @@sarthakarora3212 The issue that other user noted isn't so much them being fine and dandy trying to buddy up with Tifa (since they are trying to make amends for the past), but that Tifa herself is established as already treating it as all water under the bridge and accepting of the people who dropped the Sector 7 plate.
      She also never had any awareness of Aerith's peculiar relationship with them (nor was that ever firmly established back when the film was made, as back in the day, it was just Tseng that she expressed some sympathy for at the Temple of the Ancients due to their history), so this wouldn't be a contributing factor.

    Crisis Core will not get a re-release or remaster due to licensing issues with the likeness of a certain J-Pop star and his music in the soundtrack. People that have played it have been begging for years to get at least a PS Store release and Square will not do it.
    While most do not have a PSP to play it, sailing the high seas is recommended as it adds a lot of back story to the universe.

For years I thought Cloud and Aerith had no personality and were just pretty protagonist vessels. I believed Tifa was a way harsher and meaner person and I genuinely couldn't understand why people liked her. Now I'm playing through the remake, I can see how wrong my interpretation of the characters was but it's still taken me a while to readjust my perception of them. I still don't like Tifa as much because of Advent Children and it's not really fair on her character.

    In my opinion, to FULLY appreciate this film, you need to complete ff7 og, read "on the way to a smile", read "the kids are alright", even play crisis core or read "the maiden who travels the planet".
    I think the film is focused on cloud's redemption (especially concerning the lost of aerith). It's like cloud is literally waiting for death to meet her in the promised land like he said in ff7 og. You even see her waiting for him in the end credits of advent children first edition (she was removed from the complete edition's ending). So they made the complete edition (a little) less about aerith stuff and added more Zack stuff and additional scene to make it more digest. But it isn't until you know the main scenario of the og game at a minimum.
    By the way I really like this movie since I know almost everything about ff7 universe. And I'm interested about the future links (or not) between the remake and advent children considering some of the remake ending scenes.

    As someone with only a passing admiration for the FF games, (my firsthand knowledge of them only covering VII, VIII, IX and X with VII personally being at the bottom of that list), I'm actually one of those rare guys who's a fan of all three FF movies. Spirits Within, Advent Children and Kingsglaive. And I'd be lying if I said that my enjoyment of them was anything deeper than an affinity for their technical prowess and visual appeal. Because, as you so aptly pointed out, all of their stories are lackluster as Square's intent with all of them has always been more about selling the audience on the game franchise than telling a cohesive stand-alone story. (Save maybe for Spirits Within and that script still could ave used another pass...........or several.

      Samuel Robinson dude just simply say you don't like final fantasy at all and you don't understand the movies except for their visual beaulty. You will barely understand each one of them because they are mostly side stories to answer and bring closure to some stories from the originals. They weren't made for marketing, they are solely a big extra side story as a fanservice to the core fans of the original. Maybe you shoudn't judge something you don't understand from the beggining.

      @@minecraftgravityguy If you say so. However, it could be that I do understand everything that's going on and I just don't care for the overly convoluted way that Japanese story-telling tends to lean towards. I don't know if you realize this friend, but you can understand a movie and still not like the way the story is written or presented.
      It's called "having an opinion".
      Now, I understand that you apparently REALLY like FF and that you're partial to the series as a whole across all its mediums, but its ok if someone else doesn't care for something on the same level as you. It doesn't mean that they lack an understanding of the material. Assuming such things about other people just because they don't like a film's story is an elitist way of thinking.
      Besides, what you're saying only applies to one of the three films. Only Advent Children was a story continuation. And, as I already said in the comment I assume you read, I played that game. So I fully understood all of its story beats. The Spirits Within was an overwritten stand alone film; a project which was developed because the creators just wanted to make a photo-realistic CGI movie with the hopes of boosting FF popularity with the gimmick of having created the world's first "digital actress". (In other words, marketing contrivances.) And Kingsglaive was a standalone introduction to FFXV that was released prior to the game itself in order to hype its release. (in other words, marketing contrivances.)
      So there was nothing to understand about them that shouldn't have been presented IN the films themselves.

    Tifa's fighting style against Loz mirrors some of her Limit Breaks from the game. She opens up with Beat Rush, comes back with a Water Kick, backs him into the corner with Somersault, and ends with Meteor Strike.
    Red XIII's real name is actually Nanaki, Red XIII was the name given to him as a test subject in Midgar

Then he uses Braver when he is fighting Bahamut Sin. He uses Climhazzard to defeat Bahamut Sin. This was a refreshing reflection especially for AC, which has had mixed approval from the fans. As for myself, the movie left me with more questions than answers... it wasn't exactly the best "plot-driven" movie but I adored it for what it was: fan service.
    Regardless of what people think of FF Remake, AC as a continuation to the original timeline brought elements we could all appreciate. I for one was happy to witness Cloud obtain his resolve by the end. I felt more connected with Cloud as a character in AC because it allows us to consider the reality of him as a relatable person. Anyone with friends and family can understand that after the events of the game, people are given time to think and even doubt things they've done prior to a traumatic experience and Cloud has suffered through at least two scenarios where he felt directly responsible... it was completely alright for him to be shelled up and unattached. As long as there was a turning point of relevance for him to overcome that mental burden and accept and acknowledge his place back with himself, it was absolutely okay.
    Seeing the original cast come together and support each other was nostalgic for me, especially having them so fleshed out and uniquely different. You could even appreciate other members like the Turks and Rufus playing their part in the whole thing. My only questionable choices were the 3 catalyst spawns of Loz, Yazoo, and Kadaj who were only there to basically be fodder and drive the main characters with some sense of urgency to prevent Sephiroth's manifestation. They were imo, the weakest link to the story and mostly hindered the film from other directions of potential plot.
    Whatever the case may be of how all of this ties in together with the future depiction of the main game can be anyone's guess... Remake has taken steps in a direction that can be risky but appreciated. At the end of the day, AC at it's time was a beloved film for me and despite not being perfect I stand by it. To see my favorite characters move and talk was groundbreaking... I hope that in the future, if anyone does decide to bring that timeline back to life, that they put more thought into the storytelling, because without it, the people who don't appreciate the characters will look upon AC with much disdain.

      Advent is a Latin word. Advent is Latin for "they come". Ad = towards, vent = they go... ergo Advent = they come.

    **SPOILERS**
    Seeing as how 7R is a sequel to AC, at least from all the theories out there, mine included, I would say it makes it a better experience in hindsight.

      Yeah. Which means to understand 7R, you still need to play the Original FF7. Cause this makes 7R into a SEQUEL not a Remake.

      @@onixtalks It is just a theory though. Beside flashing out stuff what already was in the game already, there is nothing that much radically different in the remake. Like whole final take place after encounter with Dream Weaver, who guess what? Cause mass hallucinations. Of course that Sephiroth is underpowered if he is dead at that point.
